A Palate Cleanser

I have to admit I have become more than a little jaded about marriage proposal videos, but this one won me over.

Boy would he have looked stupid if she said no… It’s probably a good sign for them that he knew she would say yes.

(Well, either that or its all staged, but let’s not spoil it with thoughts like that.)

Hat tip: Hot Air headlines.

  1. It’s too long. He should’ve kept it to the typical trailer length of around 1:30 to 2 minutes. Keep it short, tightly edited, and then bust in at the end of it to propose.

In a world of hokey marriage proposals…
One man is on a mission…
to score the woman of his dreams…
    with a marriage proposal that doesn’t suck…

    “Honey, will you marry me?”

    “YES!!!”

    “Great! Now…GET TO THE CHOPPA!!!!!”

  3. I agree ith EC, once I saw it was 7 minutes long, I turned the page. One to two minutes and you got me.

I would ask for my money back.

  5. Yeah, I thought he was going to rush from his car into the building and right to the particular theater. Instead he stopped to buy and eat a bag of popcorn — that took away from the romantic theme. Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine stopped for Jujyfruits after learning that her boyfriend was in the hospital.

  6. I thought it was very sweet I hope for all of their sakes though that the wedding she plans is substantially less elaborate than the proposal

  7. I thought the video was kinda cute, and I actually thought the “stopping to buy popcorn” part was pretty funny, but every time I see a proposal that is done in front of a group of strangers, I can’t help but remember this.

  8. He should just find someone he doesn’t like and buy her a house. Easier and cheaper that way.

  10. much wiser to tape it yourself, so if it doesn’t happen, you can erase it.

of course some people have trouble erasing embarrassing videos.

  11. Fun fun fun, but a bit to public for my taste.

Note to suitors – if you want the father’s blessing, don’t start off by saying (albeit respectfully) that you are just doing it to be old fasioned and that you will do what you want regardless of the dad’s response. That won’t get you far with me. Dad may actually have some wise cautionary words that ought to be heeded. But that assumes the request it not a staged public spectacle.
