Muslim Thugs Threaten Women Who Do Not Wear Veils… In London

Women who do not wear headscarves are being threatened with violence and even death by Islamic extremists intent on imposing sharia law on parts of Britain, it was claimed today.
Other targets of the ‘Talibanesque thugs’, being investigated by police in the Tower Hamlets area of London, include homosexuals.
Stickers have been plastered on public walls stating: ‘Gay free zone. Verily Allah is severe in punishment’.
And they give us a specific example:
An Asian woman who works in a pharmacy in east London was told to dress more modestly and wear a veil or the shop would be boycotted.
When she went to the media to talk about the abuse she suffered, a man later entered the pharmacy and told her: ‘If you keep doing these things, we are going to kill you’.
The 31-year-old, who is not a practising Muslim, said she has since been told to take holiday by the pharmacy owners and now fears she may lose her job.
She said: ‘Why should I wear a hijab (headscarf) or burqa? I haven’t done anything wrong.’
I wrote the other day that in regard to veils…
…it is reported that in many European cities that veils are so common that when westernized women come in they are harassed to the point that many women will wear veils that ordinarily wouldn’t…. In that sense a regime of requiring women to remove their face coverings might stop that sort of thing from happening here. It might be a case of the freedom of those Muslim women being pitted against the freedom of the liberated women.
Because of the private violence and coercion enforcing this tradition, the freedom of a woman not to wear a veil might be threatened in part by those who wear them, even voluntarily. And of course this kind of conduct makes it hard to be certain how voluntary any of it is.
And with that in mind, we might be therefore less quick to judge the French for their Burqa ban.

Say, put up posters everywhere that Extremist Islamic posters have gone up, saying (in whatever languages seem best) “It is against the Law of this country to threaten Homosexuals and Immodest Women. Those who do so will be put in prison. Those who attack others without legal cause will be put in prison, or slain. If you prefer Sharia Law to our Law you are invited to go live elsewhere.”
And then follow up on it.
The pity is that I doubt there is anyone at any level of British government with the fortitude to do it. So the thugs will keep pushing until either all order collapses, or the common British citizenry has had enough and decides to see what Islamic Radical look like dangling from lamp posts.

you’re right. The more aggressive ‘kill ’em all’ approach is probably borne a bit of desperation. A more moderate standard, however, would require a strong enforcement with credibility. Does London have anyone in authority who can credibly warn against threatening women? That’s what we need: a western culture with the brass tacks to establish the line in the sand, and actually maintain it. That line can be pretty mild, too, so long as it’s actually maintained.

Several years ago I read that women in many European cities were dressing “modestly” to avoid continual sexual harassment from Moslem men.
The harassment of Moslem women and girls by roving “religious” vigilantes is an old story in France.

The victims are rarely assaulted seriously; instead they are subjected to continual stream of trivial assaults: a shove, a pinch, a trip, a poke, a kick in the shin or a foot stepped on. Clothing or other goods damaged – always in small ways. Often the attacks are conducted by a crowd, with the victim unable to say who did the crime.
The normal procedures of law can’t deal with this behavior. The underlying cultural assumptions must be destroyed, and that may require forcible “retraining” under state authority.
This is more or less what had to be done to break the white supremacist culture of the American South. I recall reading about a white businessman who was talking about a job that had been obsoleted. It was a dirty and difficult job, and the man was going to call it “nigger work” – except that he literally couldn’t say that. In the 1960s and 70s, he had been “retrained” under the threat of some kind of Federal sanction to the point where his speech centers couldn’t form certain words.
I don’t know that less drastic measure can remove the poison. A deeply ingrained sense of entitlement, reinforced by millenia of cultural tradition, shared an mutually reinforced. It won’t go easily.

At the north end there is a canal where Londoners live in colorful wooden house boats. About a mile west of the Park, we emerged on a street that could have been in Cairo. We felt “unwelcome” to say the least. We took the tube back to Great Portland Street. In the years since, whole towns in UK have been “annexed” by muslims.
In Buffalo NY where we lived, there is a neighborhood where non muslims are equally unwelcome. It is populated by Yemenis who left in the 1920s and 1930s. Other muslim groups emigrated from the Middle East to Ontario Canada and then immigrated to Buffalo. The area came to our attention when a local soccer team wanted to play a Yemeni club on a public park in their enclave. Before the suburban team was permitted to play on this public field, the local imam had to approve. No non-muslim women were permitted, In this neighborhood, women are chattel. This is defacto Sharia Law.
I reject islam as a religion. It’s actually a despotic political system bent on destroying non-islamic cultures, religions, government and imposing islam by force. It is completely incompatible with the Constitution, our laws, our freedoms. To accept islam as a religion, the definition would need to be broadened to embrace the KKK and the Mafia.

A few years back, I made the 15 minute walk from downtown LA to Dodger Stadium. It was a completely different, and very hostile, world. Had a lowrider follow me, and got on the cell because a few more cars got in line and followed me; they weren’t going to the Dodger game. Anyway, just walking a mile on sidewalks in L.A. in daylight introduced me to this enclave/ghetto/barrio observation. And I’m sure they were all Tony Villar voters.

Liberal intellectual Radical Progressives tend to ignore the so called ‘bitter clingers’, but there are a lot of them, and they assay out to be pretty good shots on average. The same cannot be said for even the minority of Islamics that are inclined to take risks -Insha’Allah is not an attitude that makes for good marksmanship. If they decide that it is time to delouse the local Islamic Ghetto things are going to be very messy, and there isn’t going to be a lot that can be done to stop them.
This is the elephant in the room that nobody quite wants to talk about. The Camel Pesterers do not have the capability to overwhelm our culture, unless they get a great deal smarter about how they go about it. What they CAN do is make us so angry that we alter it ourselves. Say some idiot with a Koran in his shorts sets off a largish fuel-air bomb in Detroit (I choose Detroit because the local government there is almost completely ineffectual). 9/11 only killed 3500 people. Kill ten or more times that and I think all bets are off. No matter who is in the White House there will be a LOT of pressure to “kill them all, the devil will know his own”. If the President is a touchy egotist (like either of our choices last time around, damn it) the Nukes may be raining down on Mecca before anyone can utter the words “we have to understand their desperation”. If the American people are angry enough, anti-war protestors will be slung into the jug hard enough to bounce off all four walls and the ceiling, and their lawyers may well follow.
Turkey doesn’t want to let us use their airfields? Tough; it isn’t as if they could stop us. Ditto France. in a matter of weeks we could easily be so deep in the middle east that we wouldn’t get out for a hundred years.
It won’t be good for us. We lack the temperament to be good colonialists, and it would change us in ways that I don’t think I’d like much. But I’m not sure I know of any way to stop it. The Islamic Squirrel Food can’t destroy us, but they CAN provoke us into destroying THEM … and changing ourselves for the worse.
