A Very Civil and Restrained Request

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 5:48 pm

As an observer of decorum and civility, I would just like to calmly ask you right-wingers to stop inciting mass murder with your hateful and violent rhetoric.

Thank you.

UPDATE: Regular readers don’t need this post explained. For people who do, the explanation — and a little rant about why we need to get angry in defense of inflamed and honest rhetoric — is here.

  1. Okay, I’ll stop, since you asked so civilly.

    Pious Agnostic (f24095)

  2. Let it never be said that I was not extremely polite while accusing others of fomenting the murder of children.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  3. I blame Pelosi and Walmart

    EricPWJohnson (d84fb0)

  4. Asking us to go against stereotype is asking an awful lot of us.

    Dana (8ba2fb)

  5. That is so funny. I hope it doesn’t happen again. Then it would be less funny.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  6. Let’s set a target for civility. Civil polite discussion is the bulls-eye to aim for.

“That is so funny. I hope it doesn’t happen again. Then it would be less funny.

    Comment by Chris Hooten”

Not really. When you found out bradblog loves terrorists and helps one rake in huge piles of cash, you didn’t utter a word of protest. You make thousands of comments there and didn’t utter any criticism of Brad’s sociopathetic velvetunderground scam.

So you are transparently a partisan hack in your selection of things to complain about. You’re whining about THIS incredibily benign post, but tolerant of something much worse… if liberals do it.

Really, as a joke you’re a lot funnier than anything Patterico said.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  7. Hooten,

I have concerns about your sending money to someone who is partnered with a convicted bomber. They are concerns I will express politely. What the bomber did is not funny either. Yet you sent money to his partner. Please be civil as I raise these concerns about your funding of the partner of a convicted terrorist.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  8. You mean I have to be polite and civil when I’m hammering on the Democrats for putting the Cherokee on the Trail of Tears, for enslaving millions of black people, for instituting the Jim Crow system and carrying out a reign of terror that resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people, for getting us into a series of pointless wars in Asia and Europe and forcing millions of young men to fight those wars through military enslavement (aka the Draft), for putting hundreds of people in prison in two Red Scares just because the Democrats didn’t the political opinions of halfwit lefties like Eugene Debs or Gus Hall, for packing thousands of innocent U.S. citizens off to hellhole concentration camps because their last names were Yamura or Matsushima, along with a host of other heinous crimes carried out by the so-called liberal Democrats?

    That’s asking a lot.

    Dave Surls (f88125)

  9. Please understand that I have no indication Hooten actually funded terrorist activities. But the issue of funding partners of terrorists is a timeless issue. Really now is as good a time as any to raise it.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  10. Allow me to quote the inestimable Penn Jillette:

Fuck Civility. Hyperbole, passion, and metaphor are beautiful parts of rhetoric. Marketplace of ideas can not be toned down for the insane

    The Departed (d027b8)

  11. Is that what I was doing .. inciting mass murder. Perhaps if I moved to the center more.

    PatAZ (537b43)

  12. Hooten funding the
    terrorist unindicted
    co-conspirator?

    ColonelHaiku (15abe7)

  13. Yes, it is important to remain civil while cocksuckers like crissyhooten and William Yelverton and the MFM tell lies about us, smear us, and otherwise engage in their brazen dishonesty.

    JD (306f5d)

  14. Satire goes right over their heads. They are so wrapped up in the hatred of people who disagree with them. Its become soaked into their souls.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  15. “Yes, it is important to remain civil while cocksuckers…”

Shouldn’t that be Mr. (or Ms.) Cocksucker?

    That’s more polite and civil.

    Dave Surls (f88125)

  16. SPQR,

I hope it is only the heads of the left over which the satire is sailing.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  17. Ah, well, I can’t speak to that.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  18. Yes, it is important to remain civil while cocksuckers like crissyhooten and William Yelverton and the MFM tell lies about us, smear us, and otherwise engage in their brazen dishonesty.

OK, just so I’m clear… With regards toHooten…

Are you unhappy with him because he won’t denounce the words/actions of someone?

    The Departed (d027b8)

  19. @15

Why would it need to be more polite and civil? I’ve been repeatedly told by my betters that using references to oral sex fetishes to describe political opponents (is that too harsh a word?) is perfectly respectable.

    malclave (4f3ec1)

  20. “Why would it need to be more polite and civil?”

Because Pat just asked us to use decorum and civility when we’re talking about lowlife, stinking, left wing, socialist, America-hating, terrorist-loving trash, so that no one will think we’re trying to incite the unwashed masses into committing mass-murder against Dembot pols.

Sounds like a reasonable request to me.

    Dave Surls (f88125)

  21. fuck no fuck no fuck
what is wrong with you people?
    I hate terrorists.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  22. The Departed – it is quite clear, why I, and others, are disgusted by crissyhooten and William Yelverton, the MFM, etc …

    JD (395555)

  23. Please, explain it. You seem to condemn him for the company he keeps, I just want to be sure…

    The Departed (d027b8)

  24. I sent $ to brad friedman, horrors. Apparently he started another site, besides bradblog.com, with some bomber hut from way back when, but I’m not totally sure. In any case, somehow, I am a supporter of terrorists because I sent a few bucks to Friedman, who is an election integrity activist. Whatever. I hate terrorists.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  25. hut = guy. not sure how that happened.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  26. In other words, they are bat shit crazy, including Patterico.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  27. I condemn him for being a lying dishonest twat that is dancing on the not even yet dug graves of the recently murdered to try to dishonestly score political points against those he hates. That he donates to a nozzle like Freidman is incidental, and more amusing.

    JD (395555)

  28. So it’s partly because of the company he keeps… because you have been on his ass long before tonight…

    The Departed (d027b8)

  29. I sent $ to brad friedman, horrors.

    You’re right, it is horrible.

Apparently he started another site, besides bradblog.com

It’s prominently mentioned, and the terrorist is a pretty obvious suspicious contributor to bradblog. Please tell me this didn’t need to be explained to you. Worse, all the insane memes spread on bradblog, meant to play right into the paranoid fantasies of a bunch of hard left dupes, were transparently similar to the con artist work Kimberlin’s done before.

He is the person who was fooling you at bradblog, Chris. You have more than enough evidence to realize that brad friedman is not an ‘election integrity activist’, but rather extremely opposed to exposing real problems with elections, and using the issue to spread a great deal of extremely dishonest material on the topic with the help of that other election integrity activist fraud.

That you’re sticking up for Brad Friedman is not a surprise. You’re easily his most prominent shill I’m aware of. And I’m sure you haven’t uttered a word of protest about Brad directing an organization that’s in the home of a very horrible person. Not. A. Peep. But you whine here about some of the dumbest crap.

Why? Because you’re simply a hack.

You say you’re not totally sure about Brett Kimberlin. That’s pathetic at this point, and obviously a lie. What kind of idiot lies about this stuff? What in the hell is wrong with you? You don’t see any of us lying to cover up the ‘right wing’ terrorist pals we accidentally sent cash to.

Really, you could just say you were completely fooled, and admit this proves something fundamental about Brad Friedman and the credibility of his more ridiculous lies. It says a lot that he erases any mention of the man whose organization he is a director of. This is not someone you have any justification to call an ‘integrity activist’. That is extremely dishonest of you, since you know he stands for deceit.

He fooled you… that doesn’t mean you have to shill for him even now. Now, you’re shilling well aware of what kind of person he is.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  30. I just went to that blog and read about election integrity issues… Voting machines and such… I met the guy once. I wasn’t buddies or anything. I commented there. Horrors.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  31. Dustin, I would suggest holding off for a second. I’d like JD to answer…

    The Departed (d027b8)

  32. Dude, you have Velvet Revolution dot org confused with bradblog.com, I think. Or you are just bat shit crazy, like Patterico, and some other people here.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  33. He has been a douchenozzle since he came here. As I said, his willingness to hang out with, and affection for Freidman amuses me, because Señor Brad is serially dishonest as well. Regardless, has the need for me to defend why I do not care for a soulless ghoul and brazen liar now been satisfied?

    JD (395555)

  34. I’m really not being funny at all. this thread sucks without people being funny.

I wanted to condemn Palin for the 9/11 hijackings that ultimately lead to thousands of death. Many recall Palin’s Tea Party speech where her catch phrase was ‘take over’, meaning pick a party and take it over via the primaries and precinct positions.

It’s unfortunate that this ‘Take Over’ message inspired the 9/11 terrorists to take over aircraft in order to reduce the size of the federal government’s pentagon building, and oppose the bailout of wall street by blowing up one end of it.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  35. In short, people like crissyhooten and William Yelverton do not deserve anything other than mockery and scorn. Their history here has proven that to be the case. I have this thing about not getting along too well with aggressive liars.

Sorry, wasn’t trying to interrupt. My comments are usually way too long and have that effect by accident sometimes. Is this about nk by any chance?

  37. Regardless, has the need for me to defend why I do not care for a soulless ghoul and brazen liar now been satisfied?

Not even close, you fucking weasel.

    Scott Jacobs (d027b8)

  38. Dustin:

I’ve been reluctant to say this, but what I know about LBJ, Palin and the Gulf of Tonkin would make your hair stand on end.

    Don’t tell Blubonnet. Thanks.

    Ag80 (e03e7a)

  39. Dustin, I would suggest holding off for a second. I’d like JD to answer…

Why don’t you do a search for Chrissy’s many fevered rants here over just the past few months? We’re not your monkeys here, do you own work.

    Dmac (498ece)

  40. I shopped at Target today.

    Sorry.

    Patricia (3aa1fd)

  41. Don’t say it to us, Patricia. You go down to Tucson and say that to the mourners.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  42. Come one Patricia, sheesh.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  43. on, not one. come on Patricia, that was Pathetic.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  44. Have I satisfied you, The Departed?

    JD (395555)

  45. There’s a comment in moderation that will answer that question.

I do so hope it gets released soon.

    The Departed (d027b8)

  46. I will await in breathless anticipation. Because I really need your seal of approval for not liking a lying douchebag.

    JD (395555)

  47. Oh you certainly don’t need that. You’ve been doing it for so long now…

    The Departed (d027b8)

  48. I do so hope it gets released soon.

    Comment by The Departed

I think you have to explain to the state of Arkansas why you wrote such an inflammatory call for ‘release’. This kind of irresponsible speech has led to a climate where Mike Huckabee was compelled to pardon just about anybody who asked.

And the consequences… not good. Some of these guys even shopped at Target.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

    You little loser.

It was very funny. Your fatal flaw is that you lack a sense of humor. You’re unbelievably dour and weepy. Really, you can’t be a very good shill for Brad’s ‘integrity’ if you’re covered in your own tears because you’re gurgling.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  50. http://mypetjawa.mu.nu/archives/205790.php

    These people are disgusting.

    JD (395555)

  51. “I wanted to condemn Palin for the 9/11 hijackings that ultimately lead to thousands of death.”

Dustin – I think Palin also wrote Reagan’s Berlin Wall speech, you know, Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall! That’s some pretty violent rhetoric right there, you betcha. I denounce her.

    daleyrocks (e7bc4f)

  52. UPDATE: Regular readers don’t need this post explained. For people who do, the explanation — and a little rant about why we need to get angry in defense of inflamed and honest rhetoric — is here.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  53. JD, that is amazing.

I can’t remember where, but I read somewhere that these idiots are acting like John Calhoun, tearing our country apart.

That’s basically what they are doing. But why? Why would someone want to fabricate a guilt be association Republican murderer? Who in the hell gives birth to a plot like that? They are spending a great deal of effort trying to channel this murder into the idea that Republican policies are wrong… but if they are so wrong as to justify that, why even bother with a guilt by association pitch?

Just make a damn chart about Republican policies.

Sadly, I am not sure the person who fabricated Loughner’s Republican party membership even knows what Republicans really value, or what they’d like of the government. I doubt these people have sat for a second and wondered what thoughts are behind the Tea Party.

Some people really think half a million people got together in DC because they hate Obama being a black president. They really think that idea is behind it all. Or that we want to hurt poor people. Or that we don’t want people to have health care. Or whatever the latest crap is.

They were convinced of this by lies crafted much like the lies being crafted in the jawa link. It’s a cycle of knee jerk hack bias and vicious posturing like Hooten’s.

It may seem strange to some for me to argue, from the right, that the rhetoric out there is simply over the top and causing tremendous problems. But I don’t mean because of tone. I mean because of the ill intentions. When Kos said he felt nothing at those murdered Blackwater guys, I thought that was good. Go ahead and have the intention of directly explaining your views. It’s an ugly view, but own it like a man and let it be discussed.

But an endless amount of people, frequently including Kos, would much rather distort the people they disagree with into ‘evil’. These people are tearing the country apart.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  54. It is so damn weird that Patterico’s new post has the same idea about inflamed honesty being far better than civil smears that I was trying to discuss (no surprise, he communicated the idea far better).

Maybe that’s because there’s been a long series of amazingly odd coincidences in our POVs. Makes me look like a parrot, dammit.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  55. Come on Patrick, check those filters. There’s something for JD to see.

    The Departed (d027b8)

  56. Apparently “the departed” is going to attempt to prove that crissyhooten and William Yelverton are not lying sniveling dishonest douche nozzles.

    JD (395555)

  57. Horrors?

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  58. Ah. There it is.

    The Departed (d027b8)

  59. JD, no, he’s upset about other things and trying to show you’ve been inconsistent for some reason.

I mentioned something that seems to not be up there anymore, so I think that’s my cluebat that this some kind of ‘don’t talk about it’ issue.

Anyway, it doesn’t seem to be a defense of Hooten, but rather a call for consistency if you’re bashing Hooten (I don’t know specifically with reference to what).

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  60. No, JD…

Just that you are exactly like them.

If the next words out of your mouth aren’t “I’m sorry”, you need to STFU about Hooten and Yelverton.

    Scott Jacobs (d027b8)

  61. Scott? Thank You. I hate terrorists.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  62. Shut your goddamn pie-hole, Hooten.

If you think this was even for one moment done in support of you, you are sadly f***ing mistaken.

    Scott Jacobs (d027b8)

  63. Really, Scott? I am a fucking weasel. I am sorry for whatever perceived slight that led you to hate me. But I know what you are referencing, and I will not apologize for that. Unfortunately, you cannot seem to let it go. Pity.

    JD (395555)

  64. I hate terrorists.

    Comment by Chris Hooten

Not if you describe what Brad Friedman is with the word ‘integrity’.

If you really hate them like I do, then you would never respect the integrity of someone who hides discussion of his pal terrorist he’s working hard to enrich.

Hate is a powerful word, and I really do hate terrorists. It’s not clear to me you are capable of the real emotion of hate (which is a compliment, to some extent).

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  65. No, thank you for showing JD what he is. Sheesh.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  66. Chris Hooten:

If you really hated terrorists, you would bother to learn more about Brett Kimberlin and his association with Brad Friedman.

But you don’t really hate terrorists. You just hate some terrorists — the ones who don’t share your political views.

That’s why you studiously ignore this issue every time we bring it up, and pretend that there is some plausible deniability regarding the fact — FACT — that Brad Friedman is business partners with someone who once set off numerous bombs and blew a guy’s leg off (the maimed man later committed suicide).

You’re OK with terrorists who share your politics. If you weren’t, you would behave differently regarding Kimberlin and Friedman.

    End of story.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  67. So where are you, JD?

Do you think I have been satisfied?

Do you think I am satisfied you hypocritical, weaseling little pile of s**t???

    Scott Jacobs (d027b8)

  68. You are really reaching here, Scott.

    JD (395555)

  69. Where am I? I am in Louisville.

I responded to you, at least twice. Good Allah, you hid behind a fake name just to tell me how mad you are.

    JD (395555)

  70. I would like to incite Hootie-blows-fish to target millions of his brain cells for mass-murder.

[Please drink responsibly — and often]

    Icy Texan (d3f791)

  71. Oh god. You continue to press this like I knew anything about that. What a waste of air… err, pixels. It is a misrepresentation of such monumental proportions as to be ridiculously ludicrous. I gave money to an election integrity activist several years ago. Apparently he started some other site, other than bradblog.com, with someone you (and me, and the legal system) have issues with. He doesn’t sound like a great guy to me either, but I didn’t know anything about it. Now suddenly they you think you can fucking call me a supporter of terrorists publicly whenever you want, and I shouldn’t get upset. Fuck you, you fucking liar! I really can’t believe a lawyer would be that stupid.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  72. “Do you think I have been satisfied?”

Is this some kind of a sex thing?

Do I need to leave the room while you guys hash this out?

    Dave Surls (f88125)

  73. You are really reaching here, Scott.

    Bullshit.

You’re on Hooten’s ass because he gives money to someone who is partnered with a horrible human being.

You want him to openly denounce this person.

YOU have given money to a horrible human being who actively threatened someone you KNOW.

And you have never said one God Damn word about it.

    Not one. Damn. Word.

So I don’t want to hear you say one God Damn word about how someone won’t step up and take a definitive stance on something, about whether they support or condemn anyone or anything.

Because you are the last person on this blog who has any room to talk.

    Scott Jacobs (d027b8)

  74. Hooten, you make your toadying relationship with Friedman sound like a distant memory. Not so. You were a regular sycophant sucking up to him daily last year. He had already been partners with Kimberlin for quite some time before that. You have populated threads touting conspiracy theories pushed by Kimberlin, one of the world’s biggest liars. All this has been explained to you. But you pretend it has not. I am not the liar here, my friend. You are.

    You are.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  75. No, I told you why I was on Hooten’s ass. The Kimberlin thing is incidental, as I stated. Sadly, you do not get to tell me what I can say.

I will say it again, one time, and for the last time. Yeah, he threatened to beat you up. Quelle horror. It had little to no impact on you, as you accepted the challenge and volunteered to provide your address, so he could find you. It did not seem like you were terribly concerned or bothered by it. It is unfortunate, and very sad, that you continue to carry this around. You were a big boy, and did not seem to need any help defending yourself.

    JD (395555)

  76. Scott – Good to see you!

    daleyrocks (e7bc4f)

  77. Dude, seriously, that kimberlin guy never commented at bradblog.com, where would I have come into contact with him? I never went to velvetrevolution.com. I’m waiting, liar.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  78. And when he went and slandered me, you said not one damn word.

When his monkeys helped him defame me and Patterico, the only thing you did was one line, on HIS board, about how it sure was funny a thread about free speech got shut down.

I didn’t expect you to apologize. Heavens no. that would suggest that perhaps your buddy had been wrong.

And if you did that, God only knows what might happen.

    Scott Jacobs (d027b8)

  79. This fight isn’t about me. And now it really isn’t. It is about you being angry, and wanting to vent your spleen. You chose to hide behind a name and make a douchey point about crissyhooten, that contradicted what I stated my reasons were. I hope you are able to get past this someday.

Sorry, Patterico, that this spilled into one of your threads.

Best of luck, Scott. I offer you nothing but the best of wishes

    JD (395555)

  80. Good to see you Scott. JD’s right that Jeff’s behavior was very sad, and it ticked me off at the time. I don’t get to tell you what to do, but I suggest we not let Jeff have power over us. A lot of people comment here who have POVs I don’t like. Hopefully you wind up sticking around despite people having different levels of reaction to something we agree was worth criticizing.

I think JD’s a good commenter. I also think sometimes he’s wrong, or unfair, but I think that about nearly everyone at some point. Anyway, I really really don’t want to dig into this PW issue again. It ticks everyone off really quickly and is just not pleasant.

Dude, seriously, that kimberlin guy never commented at bradblog.com, where would I have come into contact with him? I never went to velvetrevolution.com. I’m waiting, liar.

    Comment by Chris Hooten

You’re calling him a liar there at the end, which suggests that he said you knew you were talking to ‘that kimberlin guy’ (priceless attempt to reduce his important to bradblog). So I’m sure you can show me what the hell you’re talking about.

Kimberlin was anonymous to Bradblog. That his identity, and indeed his entire affiliation with Brad, and even just his name uttered at all, was deleted automatically, makes it really difficult that you had any idea what kind of psychopath was feeding you lies to repeat. But eventually Patterico and a few others managed to get the truth to you. And you don’t seem to care about it.

Your reaction shows that you do not hate all terrorists. Sorry, mate.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  81. A lot of people comment here who have POVs I don’t like

How many of them have you met face to face, and who then sided with the jack-hole who threatened to break your ankles?

    Scott Jacobs (d027b8)

  82. Just don’t ever fucking say I like or support terrorist. You are full of shit if you do, and a lying scumbag with no morals and a bad attitude..

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  83. He was a jack hole, and I agree, to have someone not stick up for you, especially in a situation like that, really would suck. I’d be pissed off, too.

But a lot of people did stick up for you. It also was a big flare up thanks to how much sticking up for you many were doing, that I suspect has caused the blog a lot of long term hard feelings out there (I don’t really give a crap, but that’s my guess).

If JD’s mere commenting here has caused you to decide you’re done with this blog, I think that’s unfair. I don’t read PW and don’t know very much about JD’s deal there, though the couple of times I’ve seen him there he’s actually been pretty damn reasonable. I wonder if he just didn’t want to step in a mess.

Hell, I’d go a lot further than that. Jeff was way out of line, but I would treat that crap as history if Jeff decided to comment on this blog. He did something wrong, but it’s been a while and sometimes we need to be forgiving.

It burns you that someone you like chose to hang with the cool bully jerk when he probably knew better. You’re justified. But it’s been a while and sometimes we have to put our justified grievances aside.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  84. Just don’t ever fucking say I like or support terrorist.

Certainly not. You like and support the business partner of a convicted terrorist, while being on notice that he is the business partner of a convicted terrorist.

You are full of shit if you do, and a lying scumbag with no morals and a bad attitude..

And yet I don’t like and support the business partner of a convicted terrorist.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  85. Just don’t ever fucking say I like or support terrorist. You are full of shit if you do, and a lying scumbag with no morals and a bad attitude..

    Comment by Chris Hooten

OK, but I will say that you hate Patterico’s behavior of telling the truth about you more than you have the behavior of enriching terrorists. After all, this kind of anger just doesn’t show up when you learn the guy you’ve been reading and shilling for has partnered with a stone cold bastard who blew up an innocent man and gave him a fate worse than death (so he killed himself). Seriously, you never called him a lying scumbag (which he is). What’s up with that?

You know that he deleted any mention of his partner’s name. He betrayed his readers with actions meant to keep you in the dark about these terrible idea you were ingesting.

but the anger I see from you in this thread… you didn’t hate anything brad did as much.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  86. You are trying to be more successful, and advance more in your field, right? What kind of dumb bastard are you to be mindlessly accusing someone of supporting terrorists out of spite and hatred? WTF? Doesn’t personal credibility count for anything anymore in the legal arena? How about personal responsibility and just plain scruples?

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  87. What kind of dumb bastard are you to be mindlessly accusing someone of supporting terrorists out of spite and hatred?

So you’re just going to insist that happened a million times, in order to avoid the points that actually were raised.

It’s amazing how angry you can get about something. It’s amazing how you ascribe ill motives, talk about credibility cost, talk about greedy ambition, when you are motivated to.

And yet, when someone partners with a terrorist, you … don’t say anything? why?

you’ve commented at bradblog far more than you have here. Why is it that Brad’s actions didn’t get this level of reaction out of you? I mean, you’re so angry at Patterico for an accusation he has repeatedly disclaimed… whatever feelings you really have about terror, they seem to be not as dear as your hatred of legit criticism of Chris Hooten.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  88. You are trying to be more successful, and advance more in your field, right? What kind of dumb bastard are you to be mindlessly accusing someone of supporting terrorists out of spite and hatred?

I think I accused you — quite accurately — of supporting the business partner of a convicted terrorist. And of not hating terrorists, as evidenced by your seeming lack of concern for the fact that your blog hero is the business partner of a convicted terrorist.

Which is not quite the same as what you just said.

Look: you spent MONTHS talking about how I was dishonest about ACORN, and sucking up to a guy who is actually partnered up with a guy who blew someone up. I simply choose not to forget this history. I can see you trying to get yourself banned, but put down the vitriol stick for one moment and actually REFLECT on what this monster did. This is not cynical partisan posturing, Chris. The guy set off several bombs. One of them blew up an innocent guy. That guy killed himself. This should matter to you. It really should.

There are times when you actually do seem like sort of an innocent goofball and not so much like a brazen partisan hack liar. If you are not the latter, then I beg you to reflect on the evil this guy has done. Confront it. Be honest about it. Repudiate it.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  89. OK Mr Patterico. I am big terrorist supporter. IDIOT. You were dishonest about ACORN. You still are. Look at how dishonest you are about me. LOL. Fuck you for saying I support any kind of terrorists, you have no right to say something fucked up like that, asshole.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  90. “Just don’t ever fucking say I like or support terrorist. You are full of shit if you do, and a lying scumbag with no morals and a bad attitude..”

Chris Hooten – Milky nostril squirts on that on Chris.

How about a tasty cupcake to relax?

    daleyrocks (e7bc4f)

  91. OK Mr Patterico. I am big terrorist supporter. IDIOT. You were dishonest about ACORN. You still are. Look at how dishonest you are about me. LOL. Fuck you for saying I support any kind of terrorists, you have no right to say something fucked up like that, asshole.

I will patiently repeat that I do not accuse you of being a terrorist supporter, except to the extent that one supports terrorists when they support the business partner of a terrorist while knowing of the connection.

Angrily repeating a strawman version of my accusation, however many times, does not make your point valid.

As many have said, can you save a little anger for the dude who blew off Carl DeLong’s leg? He’s the real bad guy here — not me or even you.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  92. At this point I suspect you are mostly in the bag, so I will stop trying to reason with you. After you get over your hangover tomorrow, come back and reflect on the things I have said.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  93. Also, you’re a big terrorist supporter.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  94. (That was a JOKE. Lighten up and have one of daley’s cupcakes.)

    Patterico (c218bd)

  95. That is a subject to be so light about, right?

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  96. Look stop with the unsubstantiated, unsupported, and unwarranted accusations of supporting terrorists, and I will tone down my presence here. Huh? Now that is reasonable. Or I can sue you 🙂

Seriously, can we tone down the rhetoric?

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  97. Look stop with the unsubstantiated, unsupported, and unwarranted accusations of supporting terrorists

You need a remedial reading class. The distinction I made here about six times already is still escaping you.

It appears to be deliberate on your part, because you know the actual accusation (that you support the BUSINESS PARTNER OF a terrorist) is accurate.

But I will, incredibly, give you the benefit of the doubt.

If you do it once again, I will take it as a reflection of your honesty, and I will not be as nice.

What say you to the accusation that you support the BUSINESS PARTNER OF a terrorist?

    Patterico (c218bd)

  98. Dude, are you just stupid like a lawyer, or a stupid lawyer? You are accusing me of supporting terrorists. Stop it, asshole.

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  99. Chris Hooten – I think your comments here continue to show everyone who is stupid.

You should have taken the cupcake, dude.

    daleyrocks (e7bc4f)

  100. One of the pitfalls of being very patient and careful to make sure you are not jumping to wrong conclusions is that people mistake you for a sucker.

I have reached my conclusions about Mr. Hooten and for the benefit of my larger audience have decided to release only those comments of his that I think would benefit the discussion.

The comments currently sitting in moderation, in which he talks about suing me (based on his dishonest strawman characterization of my actual accusation) and insults another commenter, are not the type that will be released.

Is he capable of making moments that would contribute. Doubtful, but we’ll see.

One thing is clear: his nonsense was becoming tiresome for the average reader. He was a time thief who reveled in the attention and didn’t give a damn about his buddy’s terrain partner.

Enjoy moderation, Hooten. You earned it.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  101. Dammit! I hate it when the loon that tongue-kisses Brad Friedman — and then gets butt-hurt and calls for toning down the rhetoric — and then goes all Tourette’s on our host — goes into moderation. There goes all my fun!

    Icy Texan (d3f791)

  102. Yeah, well Chrissie has tender feelings, and they get hurt when it’s pointed out that some of his lefty friends not only engage in violent rhetoric, but they actually blow innocent people up with bombs.

So, cut the poor baby some slack.

    Dave Surls (f88125)

  103. f him. is that civil enough for everyone?

    redc1c4 (fb8750)

  104. Thank you for the opportunity to be polite. If I may, and I assure you it is speculation, an opinion if you will, but I believe Chris Hooten supports terrorism, William Yelverton is a plagiarist, and heated rhetoric from the right caused the tragedy in Arizona.

    Birdbath (8501d4)

  105. He doesn’t sound like a great guy to me either, but I didn’t know anything about it

Translation: I’m shocked, SHOCKED to find gambling going on in this establishment!

    Dmac (498ece)

  106. Hooten is a delicate snowflake. He has to be handled with care. Sort of like Loughner.

    daleyrocks (e7bc4f)

  107. You earlier said Hootie should have taken the cupcake – but in reality, he is a cupcake.

    Dmac (498ece)

  108. …and didn’t give a damn about his buddy’s terrain partner.

    What is a “terrain partner?”

    Chris Hooten (2b9678)

  109. ^and here I thought it was our host who was just stupid like a lawyer, or a stupid lawyer?

Gotta love that kind of dull wit – awesome refutation as always, cupcake.

    Dmac (498ece)

  110. It’s another term for armadillo, Chrissy.

    Dmac (498ece)

  111. I’m still baffled why Chris Hooten thinks that he can escape his own past behavior and his own past statements.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  112. What is a “terrain partner?”

    Comment by Chris Hooten —

I love how you can tell when someone is typing on an ipad or iphone because of its ‘assistance’.

There’s a humor site about it.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  113. I’m still baffled why Chris Hooten thinks that he can escape his own past behavior and his own past statements

I assume this question is rhetorical, given the latest mass demonstration of willful amnesia on the part of our MFM and Dem politicos.
