  2. What happens that week….
Several (well actually, quite a few) men and women currently employed by the voters of their respective states,
will be handed pink slips, and will have to vacate their offices prior to Jan 2nd.
We can only wish it will be more.

I thought of sneaking in a riff like that, but couldn’t think of a good way to do it.

  5. the part timers aren’t looking for full time w*rk because they know there isn’t any to be found.

sign of the times: we went to a major plumbing supply house and a lumber yard here in the Valley this afternoon.

both were carrying a noticeably smaller inventory, with single partial pallets where there used to be stacks of the particular item, and wide swaths of empty space and empty shelves where stock used to be.

there weren’t many people in either one buying supplies either. booming recovery my a55.

  6. Unemployment may be galloping along, but the pollster is named “Gallup”

  7. Oddly, it is also hard to find some types of workers, especially highly trained ones like engineers.

The people who are out looking are mostly the RIFed or those from failed companies, which gives one pause. Sure some of them are indeed quite qualified, but that isn’t the way to bet.

Most people look at the economic news and uncertainty and decide this isn’t the time to change jobs.

  8. plumbing supplies should always come from reputable suppliers so always check their backgrounds ‘.`
