Blogger Tangles with Terrorist

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 7:07 am

Blogger Rusty Shackleford at The Jawa Report had a long and protracted blog war with a fellow named Samir Khan. Now Khan admits he is in Yemen and has joined al Qaeda. Details here.

No word on whether Samir Khan has threatened to sue Rusty for telling the truth about him, the way convicted bomber Brett Kimberlin yesterday threatened to sue me for telling the truth about him.

  1. i am guessing he will instead receive “cease and desist” death threats.

brings whole new meaning to the term “flame war.”

  2. sorry to joke, its just something i do as sort of a globalized coping mechanism.

  3. I issue a Fatwa against Samir Kahn. Allah commands him to personally inspect the polyps in his own colon personally and to keep inspecting them until he passes from this world and comes to Allah for introduction to 72 Virginians who are going to use him as a futbol.

  4. It should not surprise anyone this is happening with regularity given the “imperialistic, evil doer narrative” the left has promoted since the 1920s. A narrative accepted by many well intentioned Americans too.

Now it is a favorite narrative of Islamists — everything justified so long as the other guy is “evil.” No slight too small to go on a murderous bender. And many on the left sit around saying “it is bad but …”

Only thing vunderful is similar young men are now targeting the Europeans even more so — Europeans being the very people who started this narrative in the 1920s and still repeat it daily. What goes around, comes around with a big cup of schadenfreude.

  11. Yeah, Aaron, that’s an amazing response on several levels.

No doubt this is a serious matter, and Brad’s reaction that it’s not is just desperate hoping some people will never read into it (and the money will keep flowing in).

What’s Brad supposed to do, though? Deny the facts? Maybe Brad knows better… that’s how a few people really screwed themselves when tangling with Biggovernment.com.

  12. Brad Freidman likes drug smugglers what set off bombs and kill people and perjure themselves. Those kinds of people are his buddies.

  13. Rusty @ The Jawa Report:

For the most part we need a social circle to encourage us to kill. The Nidal Hasans of the world are rare.

Didn’t Hasan have a virtual social circle, i.e., support from online contacts? That may be enough for some jihadis.

  14. I would suggest to Samir Khan that he not stand too close to Anwar Awlaki.

  16. btw, as a golden oldie, i decided to see how hard it was to create a “user verified” page on zoominfo, in relation to Patterico’s posts on the subject.

Well, it turns out, its not that hard at all. They think I am Tom Petty.

So right now we have no evidence that Christine O’Donnell created that Zoominfo page.

  17. And i am continuing to hold Brad’s feet to the fire at his own blog.

his new tack is to accuse everyone who is after him of being liars.

  18. Dude. Really?

For an allegedly grown man, you have a schoolgirl’s obsession with over-acted melodrama, don’t you? You just live for petty blog spats, so you can have a hissy fit and gossip about to your friends.

Dude. Grow a pair, and grow up. This is getting embarrassing. And you never seem to realize that no matter how wrong the other guy may be every time you do this, your overheated, breathless hyperbolic me-me-me reality television odes to narcissism just end making you look equally goofy.

And that would be your cue to go write a quick post repeating the fact that you might be sued … and link back to you last 3 posts … and another quick excited giggling link to your PayPal account.

Embarrassing. You manage to lose every argument, even the ones in which you’re unmistakably right. That’s an impressive trick.

  19. Speaking of Islamofascisism, there is a funny cartoon about a take-off on “Where’s Waldo” meets “Everybody Draw Mohammed ==>> “Where’s Muhammad?”

I saw it at PowerLine, who give credit to RealClearPolitics. Apparently the Washington Post decided not to run it, but mistakenly posted on their website.

  21. Damn that Rusty Shackleford, for radicalizing an innocent disciple of the Religion of Peace and causing him to hate America!

You do know that the world would love us if only the Rethuglikkkan reich-wingers didn’t sully the progressive image of America that Our President projects, don’t you?

  22. Holy Jeebus. AW’s link and the comments over there are amazing. You could remove a ton of tin foil from their melons, and there would still be tons left. Their fantasy world is deep-seated, and impenetrable.

I see you commenting over there alot.

i wonder what would happen if you spelled the forbidden words backwards? Or maybe just put spaces between the letters? or dashes?

i’m just saying, it might be a fun way to sneak the words past their filters.
