Kids Day Camp in Gaza

[Guest post by DRJ]

Gaza’s summer day camps for children are really, really competitive:

“Rival day camps by the United Nations and Gaza’s Islamic militant Hamas rulers compete for the hearts of the next generation, the roughly 700,000 children under 15 who make up nearly half of the Gaza Strip’s population.

Hamas camps teach an anti-Israeli doctrine and military-style marching, along with horseback riding, swimming and Islam. U.N. camps try to instill hope in a better future, a message wrapped in fun and games.”

The article has more details on what kids do in the Hamas camps and the UN camps so read the whole thing. Once again, the “good works” of Hamas are distinguished from its terrorist actions, but it’s a dangerous distinction that leads to children taught to celebrate their own mother’s death:

  1. Meanwhile, Obama is sneaking hundreds of millions for Hamas past the American people, and opening secret talks with them.

  5. Can you imagine orphaning your kids just to murder civilian Jews?

I wouldn’t be able to do that even if I did believe in that kooky crap.

Of course, they are only women, which in Islam doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. It may even be a detractor to the cause of murder to have a loving mother.

  6. “When I blow up I want to grow up, just like mommy did!” Or words to that effect.

  7. Am sickened speechless so will let Golda Meir say it:

“Peace will come when the Arabs start to love their children more than they hate us.”

  8. Peace will come when the Palestinians have hope that the next generation will not live in a refugee camp, on the world’s charity, like the last four have.

You cannot leave somebody with nothing to lose and leave him or her alive. That is the senselessness.

People need the means by which to live and a reason for which to live. The Palestinians who blow themselves up have basically grown up like children born in prison, with no chance of parole.

  9. “Peace will come when the Palestinians have hope that the next generation will not live in a refugee camp”

Bit of a dilemma for kiddies, blow up or grow up?

The Palestinians, legal subjects of Jordan abandoned, sacrifice their children just as their ancestors, the Ammonites and Moabites to the gods Molech and Chemosh.

They are depraved, deluded and devolved, it’s in their genes.

Actually, that’s a myth that has no bearing in fact.

  11. “You cannot leave somebody with nothing to lose and leave him or her alive.”

    Mass suicide is the solution?

Peace will come when the Palestinians stop blaming others for their problems and start actively working for peace. Never happen.

  12. Need land to grow food on as a start. And a place for your kids to make a future for their kids.

I’m not blaming the Israelis. They’re in a desperate situation too.

But, damn, that place has been the Devil’s playground ever since we made Him.

    nk (db4a41)

  13. Blame Israel’s neighbors and the rest of the Arabs world for helping to create the problem and refusing to help solve it. If they wanted peace, there would be peace.

  14. nk,

Among things Israel left behind when then handed over Gaza was an established horticulture center/greenhouses of some sort that had been productive and a place of employment for the Israelis while they were there. The new residents destroyed it just to make the point they didn’t want anything from some stinkin’ Israelis.

I am sure there are many, many individual people living in Gaza and the West Bank that would rather make a life for themselves if given a chance, but they are captive to leadership who sacrifice their own people for the sake of personal power.

It is my understanding that the refugee problem started not with Israel’s formation, but in the first war for their survival against surrounding Arab nations. Many non-Jews understandably left Israel to avoid being in the middle of a war, but the attacking countries would not accept their entrance (apparently a stiffer border policy than ours). So when the smoke cleared, you had Israel not wanting to let back in people who were not willing to defend their country, and the Arab countries not wanting to absorb their brethren but make a political tool of them.

So now we get the above, anything that does not promote violence against Israel is opposed. Destroying Israel is the official primary objective, not a productive life for their own citizens. Begin and Sadat I have respect for, not so much Arafat and Carter. I am happy to learn where I may have misperceptions.

  15. and the Arab countries not wanting to absorb their brethren but make a political tool of them

Yes, a thousand times yes. The oil-rich golden apes, with their 40 wives and 40 palaces, throw scraps to the Palestinians as we would to dogs. But they do the same thing to their own populations, while their petrobillions grow in London and Zurich.

  16. It would be a mistake to believe that the graduation rate of homicide bombers is any less from the UN camps than the Hamas camps.

  20. Peace will come when the Palestinians have hope that the next generation will not live in a refugee camp, on the world’s charity, like the last four have.

That’s why Hamas and the PLO have worked so hard to oppose any efforts to settle their own people out of the faux “refugee” camps.

  21. They had a video not too long ago on hot air, showing a bunch of children singing how they want to be suicide bombers, now. I love palestine more than childhood, or something to that effect. It was one of the top 10 most messed up things i have seen in my life.

This is not about any cause. This is bigotry, pure and simple. And the way to have peace is to make them impotent–incapable of harming others. only then is there any hope they will give it up.

  23. i’m curious why nk finds it appropriate to defend and excuse antisemitism?

    redc1c4 (fb8750)

  24. red, at least in this thread, he seems to just have a realistic notion that these people are going to hate Jews because of the way they are being brainwashed and suffering.

I didn’t see it as an excuse. It’s a shame we aren’t imperialists, because we could have simply redrawn Afghanistan or Iraq to include a new Palestinian homeland. Oh well, I guess we have to be the good guys.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  25. The Israelis are the terrorists’ primary target, but they have made others suffer too. Lebanon the most. And I’d venture to say that Al Fatah’s hands are just as bloody as Hamas’s.

I’m not defending anti-semitism. I’m despairing for the world my daughter is living in.

  35. Imagine if this were a kid’s day camp in Israel and they were using cute little animal characters to instruct the Israeli children on how to kill or maim Palestinians and/or teaching an appreciation of martyrdom.

You can’t because that will never, ever happen. If the Arab all nations laid down their weapons tomorrow, there would be peace in the Middle East. If the Israelis did the same, does anyone truly believe the same would happen?
