A Setback
[Guest post by DRJ]
The New Orleans Times-Picayune posted this video of a truck hauling a girder to be used in widening the Huey P. Long bridge:
Girder falling from truck in Elmwood |
The post describes it as a setback in the project. Don’t miss the narration, and what happened to that SUV to the right of the truck?

happyfeet (71f55e) — 6/28/2010 @ 4:34 pmIt appears that the SUV merging from the right is safely ahead of the truck when the girder falls.
I love the ads for the trial lawyers framing this clip.

I’ve driven on that bridge. It is one scary thing (especially in a New Orleans downpour).

OTOH, how many of you have seen the fallen Chinese apt building from a year ago?
It’s only stills, but it’s impressive. I have the feeling someone got executed.
