As if being the suspect in the death of two girls weren’t enough, Fox News reports Joran van der Sloot is also accused of extorting money from the family of Natalee Holloway.

Are some people addicted to crime?

  1. The Peruvian girl died on the exact fifth anniversary of Holloway’s death. Freaky…

  2. Gazzer, it is proof he planned on killing this girl. it can’t be a spontaneous thing.

This guy might be a serial killer.

  3. van der Sloot is a particularly loathsome type of murderer, or is quite desperate, or both.

Extortion in order to tell details of the death and whereabouts of the body? I think some would like to deliver the money in person, and then do a Jack Bauer on the guy. I bet it would be hard to find a jury that would convict the family member, easier to find a jury that would regret not being there to help out.

  4. Well, this time around his dad isn’t there to run interference and deal influence in the dutch run country. The situation is kind of reversed in Peru as the victim’s dad is very well known in the countries political arena.
If this fellow is guilty and the Peruvian justice system runs it’s course then this fellow will spend the remainder of his days in a Peru prison which is considerably less comfortable then one in Aruba (or Holland or the States).

  6. btw, i heard on greta last night that they are not going to extradite him. what they are going to do is take him to the peruvian border, make him exit their country and the peruvian authorities will take him immediately into their custody. fwiw.

  7. Are some people addicted to crime?

Yes. I think that’s why call them criminals.

  8. I’d toss him in the pokey just on account of that unibrow. It just screams “mental defective”, don’t it?

  10. My wife and I were talking this morning about this, and decided that it’s going to be a new tv series, like The Fugitive. Accused of killing a young lady, the series protagonist flees. Found, and then another young lady is killed. He flees again, is caught, escapes, another death, another escape … all because the real serial killer wants our protagonist convicted of these killings!

Might be good TV (although probably not) but in real life? Somehow I just don’t think so.
