Michelle Obama to Daughter of Illegal: We Gotta Get Your Mom Some Papers!

First lady Michelle Obama told the child of an apparent illegal immigrant on Wednesday that immigration policy should be “fixed” so her mother could remain in the United States.
During a trip to an elementary school in Silver Spring, Md., with the first lady of Mexico, Margarita Zavala, Obama took questions from one young girl who said that she had heard “that Barack Obama is taking everybody away that doesn’t have papers,” adding later that her mom lacks such paperwork.
“We have to work on that. We have to make sure that people can be here and get the right kind of papers; that’s exactly right,” Obama responded. “We have to work on that. We have to fix that.”
Actually, no. The girl’s mom has to work on getting the right kind of papers.
Not because she needs them, mind you; I’m told being an illegal immigrant is legal everywhere except Arizona. Just, you know, to help bring the family out of the shadows — so that, one day, their daughter might have the courage to address the First Lady of the United Sta —

the alternative solution is that Mexico can petition the US for permission to become US territories, subject to US laws, etc, with an eye to those territories eventually becoming US states, once they are settled and productive.
imagine a little Yankee ingenuity and law cleaning up the years of corruption and failure to utilize the resources of Mexico in an efficient manner.

I agree with the notion that the real solution is something like “a little Yankee ingenuity and law cleaning up the years of corruption and failure to utilize the resources of Mexico in an efficient manner.” I think this mission is essential to our nation’s security and prosperity, and long overdue for our neighbor.
I don’t think it’s ever going to come from Mexico itself, and I wish we would require a complete overhaul of their system if they wished to keep trading with us.
Obviously a ridiculous pipe dream.

37.Actually, NK this May has been extremely mild. Around 80 degrees for the most part. Dustin, we have the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Prescott (former state capitol)great golf (if that is your thing although I concur with Mark Twain). You can stand on a corner in Winslow, Az before heading to the breathtaking Meteor Crater or stay in a concrete wigwam in Holbrook. You can take a small plane over the Canyon for a little over $100 for the full effect. There is a 4 hour round trip on a diesel train in Verde Canyon where you will be regaled with stories by the guides in each car as you watch majestic pines and all kinds of wild life. There is also the Painted Desert. If you find yourself down in Bisbee you can stay at Shady Dells where you can stay in an old Chris Craft boat or a classic Airstream trailer for a reasonable price. This is all from memory and I am sure a Google search will reveal so much more. If you come to Cave Creek I will even buy you a drink

All I can say is that it now appears that at least two of the three nations of North America are led by ignorant liars.
Fortunately for Mexico, the Estados Unidos is not a Muslim country, or else we would be gathering this morning at the various Consulates and the Embassy, to storm, sack, and burn them down, in response to his disrespect for his hosts.
Kudos to the Wolfman @ CNN for actually having the integrity to ask a relevant question to Calderon on what Mexico does with those who enter his country illegally over their southern border.

I guess Calderon couldn’t stop at lecturing us about immigration. Now he’s lecturing us about the drug war–according to him, it’s up to the US to stop the flow of drugs into this country by reducing demand,(never mind Mexico’s responsibility), and I suppose the idiot in chief just stood there and agreed that America has been lax and we should be begging Mexico’s forgiveness.
