Eric Holder on Radical Islam
[Guest post by DRJ]
“This YouTube clip from the Attorney General’s testimony today will be the most painful two minutes of video you will ever watch. Mr. Holder would obviously rather get a root-canal than utter the words “radical Islam” (despite the fact that his description of the American people as “a nation of cowards” on race and of Bush officials as war criminals seemed to roll of the tongue without much difficulty).
You’ll be pleased to discover, via the AG, that there is an infinite variety of reasons why Muslims commit terrorist attacks. Those reasons, of course, have nothing to do with Islamic doctrine, which is why, even as we speak, agents are struggling to understand what might possibly have driven Faisal Shahzad to try to blow up Times Square. (I guess Mayor Bloomberg will be pleased to know that opposition to the healthcare bill hasn’t necessarily been ruled out yet.)”
Can it get any worse than this? (Don’t answer that.)

Why does Holder insist anything these terrorists did must be inconsistent with Islam? He spends most of his effort defending a religion for no apparent reason. Who is he to tell all these radicals what their religion says? He is so incoherent, and his focus is obviously and plainly on being politically correct rather than protecting our country.
It’s a political game. Holder knows that jihadism, the war on terror, all those concepts are politically harmful to his party, so he bans speaking about them like some Orwell fantasy. There’s no such thing as terrorism, that was a man made disaster!
And ‘threats’ that are politically helpful to democrats, such as Branch Davidians at the onset, or those Michigan nutjobs, or hypothetical Tea Party violence and veterans going crazy… those problems are harped on endlessly. Even invented. People are arrested without planning attacks and judges throw the charges out. DHS warns about threats that are insulting to the democrats’ political opposition.
Holder sees his job as helping shape the narrative to help his Chicago pals gain and keep maximum power. He is willing to comprimise our safety in order to do this.
Remember, those who threatened Viacom had a permit to protest, and were recording the Viacom building, the moment this Nissan bomb was deployed. Perhaps a total coincidence, and yet obviously enough for a GWOT focused FBI to scrutinize the situation and prevent the attack. This failure is rooted in political priorities.
One last thought: Lamar Smith and many like him will be the tip of the spear in the checks and balances if we work hard to get Republicans to majority in the US House. There are many hearings needed on IG firings, corruption in legislation, national security, and so many other areas. I can’t think of a better use of money in politics than to select a great Republican trying to unseat a democrat in a tough race and donate.
Dustin (b54cdc) — 5/13/2010 @ 2:40 pmIs it possible to bring Barack and Holder up on treason charges and have them shot?
Possible I ask, not probable.
Can you try a sitting POTUS for treason?

SPQR (26be8b) — 5/13/2010 @ 3:44 pmJuan Williams is spewing the effectiveness of the follow-up arrests and investigations into these terrorist actions. Can’t admit they got lucky that the underwear bomber and the Times Square bomber were inept. Ask the families of the Ft Hood bomber, and the Little Rock recruiter if they praise their effectiveness. Geesh.
sybilll (785da9) — 5/13/2010 @ 3:49 pmCheck the coverage of him admitting that he has not read the Arizona bill that he is trashing and threatening to bring suit over. Congress man who asked the question pointed out that the bill is ten pages and he can’t take the time to read it before going off half cocked (my interpretation of his fairly polite criticism.).
Have Blue (854a6e) — 5/13/2010 @ 3:52 pmThe AG got lucky because the underwear bomber and Times Square bomber were inept. I’d ask the victims at Ft Hood and Little Rock if they felt lucky, but……….

He has sworn an oath to defend the United States and the Constitution against all enemies, domestic and foreign, I have to imagine that not holding up that is an impeachable offense. Once impeached and booted out, can he be tried for treason for the same actions? I don’t know, but he should be.
The problem, as I see it, is that enough people in this country are clueless to the point that they elected a fellow to be President and take that oath when he has already said that the Constitution is flawed and inadequate as it was written. He has not expressed a desire to amend the Constitution on specific points, but has shown contempt for it on a fundamental level. Such a person should have gotten no closer to the presidency than the Chicago City Council.
As mentioned in the other thread, he’s making comments on the consitutionality of a law he hasn’t read. In the interactions with lawyers that I’ve had over the years, youse guys don’t want to offer a direct opinion on anything you don’t have to, and even then couch it in terms to give as little exposure as possible for it to come back to haunt you. Holder doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut except when he doesn’t want to make a PC inappropriate comment about “radical Islam”. He easily could have answered the question in a way that made it clear he was not talking about Islam in general, but that small minority who claim that their version of Islam calls for them to do armed jihad, but to do that he would have sounded too much like Bush and the Senator asking the question.
I think sometimes that our current group of elected and appointed officials, on the whole are like an “A” level farm club in baseball. If you’ve never seen the real thing as Major League ball, you might be impressed, but in reality they are a sad shadow of the real thing, and people don’t even know it.

I think he is still in the early stages of liberal recovery, with frequent relapses. To begin with, he credits Obama and the like with sincere intent for good will and the success of the country as we know it in its best form.
MD in Philly (ea3785) — 5/13/2010 @ 6:29 pmOh good grief, this isn’t rocket science: What is the common thread that runs through all of these events?
Only when forced to answer the question about radical Islam, does our Attorney General cough up the ridiculously telling “I suppose it’s possible…”. Priceless.
Why are these people always worried about offending the wrong people?
Dana (1e5ad4) — 5/13/2010 @ 6:35 pmDana, actually it has little to do with “offending” the wrong people.
Holder, like many Leftists, is being hoisted on his own cognitive dissonance.
Islam is the realm of “The Other” and all Leftist dogma is that “The Other” is morally superior (due to White American Imperialism is always morally corrupt and questionable – even American “charity” is suspect as a tool of the White Patriarchy)
Thus if The Other commits an act of unconscionable evil (9/11, Hasan), it cannot be because it really IS evil based on an evil Ideology (The Other is Pure) especially when the act was directed against the real evil of Amerikkka.
Holder’s brain seizes up –
Kind of like in “I, Mudd” @ 5:31 where Kirk says, “Harry lies, remember that.” and then Harry says “I’m lying.”
Holder cannot condemn “The Other” when The Other is always right.

The following snippets are posted in honor of the people (aka useful idiots) in the White House and throughout the liberal intelligentsia of the Western World.
And some of that honor also has to go to people like George W. Bush, who in foolish PC fashion declared over 8 years ago that Islam was a “religion of peace.” Yea, uh-huh, right.
Mark (411533) — 5/13/2010 @ 8:54 pmpolitical correctness = dishonesty
“For the sake of not offending someone, I’m not going to tell the whole truth about them.”
The classic lie of omission. Just ask Secretary of Homeland Security, Ms. “man-caused disaster, the system worked” Napolitano.
Icy Texan (176b23) — 5/14/2010 @ 2:20 amAlthough individual terror attacks, or large scale highly coordinated programs of terrorism, may be employed by radicalized Muslims, the practice of Jihad, whether directly engaged in terror or in more traditional forms of warfare, is basic to Islam, mainstream Islam, and can not be separated from Islam or denied as an integral part of Islamic doctrine. Without Jihad there is no Islam.
The Quran, which is considered to be the direct words of Allah, commands Muslims to wage holy war, or Jihad, against non-Muslims. Allah’s command is unambiguous, absolute, and unmistakable.
(Muslims do not recognize translations of the Quran as authoritative, only the original Arabic text is considered to accurately convey the words of Allah. Consequently the translations below are subject to criticism.)
Consider the following from the Verse of the Sword, Sura 9:
9:5. Then when the Sacred Months have passed, then kill the unbelievers wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and prepare for them each and every ambush. But if they repent and pray to Allah, and give alms, then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
9:33. It is Allah Who has sent His Messenger Muhammad with guidance and the religion of truth, Islam, to make it superior over all religions even though the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah may hate Islam.
Parts of Sura 8, reveal a similar theme:
8:39. And fight them until there is no more disbelief and polytheism (worshipping others besides Allah) and in the whole of the world the religion will all be for Allah Alone. But if they cease worshipping others besides Allah, then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do.
8:67. It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he had made a great slaughter of his enemies in the land. You desire the good of this world, but Allah desires the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

The real question AG Eric Holder can’t answer is why do we continue to find Muslim terrorists willing to sacrifice their own lives to kill Americans. What force in the Islamic world is so powerful that the sons and daughters of the wealthy and privileged will volunteer for martyrdom operations and take up the cause of jihad in the name of Allah?
It isn’t because some fringe cult of imaginary “Radicalized Muslims” has fallen under the spell of a few charismatic leaders able to recruit otherwise peaceful Muslims into secret suicide pacts. That’s not it at all.
The inconvenient truth is that Muslim masterminds can so easily attract willing individuals into terrorist training because jihad is part and parcel of mainstream Islam. Allah authorizes and approves of suicide attacks against the non-believers.
Read the words of Sura 8:67, “You desire the good of this world, but Allah desires the Hereafter (for you).” Allah not only desires the death of his followers in holy war against the non-believers, he also promises a high place in the afterlife and a grand reward for those who die in the act of killing infidels.
The dirty secret is that Islam is a religion of war, which pretends to be a religion of peace only to prepare for the next attack.

“AG Holder Ducks Questions on Sestak Job Offer”
Washington — U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder refused to answer pointed questions from Congressman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., about allegations the Obama Administration offered U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa., a high-ranking position in return for dropping out of the primary election against incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter.
Mr. Issa wants the Justice Department to investigate the allegations which, if confirmed, could amount to three felony offenses for bribery and corruption. On Thursday, with Mr. Holder testifying before the House Judiciary Committee, Mr. Issa asked why a special prosecutor has not been assigned to investigate the case.
“The appointment of a special prosecutor is something that is done on a case-by-case basis,” said Mr. Holder.
“What could be more case-by-case than the allegation that this White House has committed three felonies in offering a member of Congress a high ranking position in this administration in return for his getting out of the primary,” asked Mr. Issa in return….
