  1. Biden reminds me of the description of the President of the Galaxy in the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The president is not there to hold and weild power, because in fact he has none. the actual job of the president is the distract away from power.

    Biden fulfills this role perfectly.

  2. Brit Hume said it best. Joe Biden has to buy three shoes at a time. Two to wear and one to put in his mouth.

    I would add that Obama needs three shoes also because one always ends up Biden’s ass.

  3. Any bets on how (if) this will be mentioned on any of the news shows this evening? I mean, unlike the alleged racist slurs they all lapped up, there actually *is* some video proof of Biden’s mouthful.

  6. Aw, c’mon. This doesn’t rise to a genuine Biden gaffe. Vulgarity aside, what he said is accurate — it is a big deal. A firm grasp on the obvious by Biden is a refreshing change.

    Remember, Bush & Cheney were caught at the scene of exploding f-bombs in their time in the White House. None of that rises to the heights sinks to the depths of what Bill Clinton actually DID in the Oval Office.

    I’m not going to make a mountain out of this. That’s the least objectionable thing to happen in that room today.

    I agree about it being trivial in the scheme of things, but wow, biden is kind of a doofus.

  8. LN, in any other case I’d agree with you, but since the MSM has lapped up Beaver Cleaver’s claims of racial slurs and spitting, I’d rather not give anyone from the Dem side the benefit of the doubt – ever again. Still waiting to hear the interview of Cleaver in which he tells the world exactly who said it, and gives us another person who confirms exactly what he claims to have heard. I think he’s a huge liar, since there were about 40 vids taken of the entire protest, and no evidence has emerged.

  9. Leave it to conservatives to see the cloud yet see past a silver lining. Look at what Joe just did today- already T-shirts are selling for $23 on the web emblazoned with another say-it-ain’t-so-Joeism; shoe sales may even jump as well. Commerce on the march; free enterprise at play; entrepreneurs at work– and Joe doesn’t get a penny for his thoughts, or thoughtlessness. What a country.

    Still, this should make the Left and the Right chuckle, considering the source and his history with same: “Will somebody please explain to the vice-president we have microphones?” — Chris Mathews, MSNBC ‘Hardball’ 3/23/10.

    With a soon to be nuclear Iran, having a goof this close to the briefcase is funnnnnnny.

    Woops! Joe (D) just killed 20 million people.

  13. I will stipulate to our liberal friends that this isn’t all that much of a big deal, if they in turn will acknowledge that Biden is way too crude and stupid to ever wield any real power. That should put an end to any talk of giving old Joe any significant role in foreign policy or any other executive function that requires a modicum of diplomacy.

    These are two separate issues. In the case of Biden, no harm, no foul. OTOH, Cleaver claims he was spat on but ‘refused to press charges,’ which is convenient when the Capitol Police say they never arrested anybody for such an assault. IMHO, the Cleaver incident didn’t happen any more than that mentally unstable McCain volunteer had a backwards ‘B’ carved in her face by a black Obama supporter.

    Letting go Biden’s misfiring mouth this one time doesn’t change the outrage of Cleaver’s smearing of Tea Party protestors.

    BTW – Don’t sully the good name of Beaver Cleaver by associating it with a radical Democrat.

  15. Just how long will Obama put up with this clown? Any bets for when Biden will resign because the job is just too much work and he wants to “spend more time with his family” ?

    It’ll never happen for three reasons:

    First: Biden, who has been a Senator since the age of 29, was chosen because his tenure balanced that of Obama, who didn’t even complete an entire term in the Senate;

    Second: Biden also gave Obama foreign policy bonafides (despite the fact Joe’s instincts have more faults than the California coast — remember he thought balkinizing Iraq was the only way to improve the situation);

    Third: Dumping Biden would mean that Obama would have to admit making a crucial mistake. There’s no way he could blame Biden on Bush.

  17. Huh? Reasons one through three all assume that it is somehow Obama’s decision, and for these reasons he’ll decide against it. But it isn’t his decision. A Biden resignation will not be happening for the very simple reason that if Obama should ever take it into his head to ask for one, Biden will tell him to go to Hell. Or, given today’s performance, to “@#$%ing Hell”. Biden doesn’t work for Obama. He isn’t under his jurisdiction. He has his own mandate from the people, who voted for him at the same time as they voted for Obama. So Obama can’t fire him, or demand his resignation. As Cheney pointed out, the vice president is not part of the executive branch, though he often does odd jobs there on a voluntary basis.
