Puppy Love

Yahoo’s video this evening is a Purina “Animal All Stars” puppy responding to his master’s whistle:

I like this puppy. I also like the way it makes my dogs howl, too — especially since they’re responding to the puppy and not the whistle.

Simple pleasures are the best.

I thought it was Girls rule, Boys drool. I missed the memo.

    I missed the memo.

    I don’t think so.

I have been apprised of it both ways, depending on who is goring the ox.

  7. This little guy is simply adorable. Considering 4 of 5 people in my family have been harping for several weeks about how we’re due for a new puppy (It would be the best Christmas present ever, mom!), in spite of the three massive dogs we already have, this is the very last thing I will be showing them!

  8. That’s just too cute! I saw that a year ago on YouTube.

  10. My dog usually ignores sounds from the TV or computer, including sounds of other dogs or animals, but she immediately jumped to her feet from what appeared to be a sound nap and ran to my computer desk to check out this sound.

  11. Cuteness galore. Thanks DRJ – hadn’t seen this one.

Kittehs are cool but dogs are KING.

Just for fun, a terrific short story about a dog – and loyalty. Money quote:

“Don’t act like dogs are such a well-kept secret. Why do you think people have them?”

  12. My dog (a mini-Schnauzer) came down to the family room to check it out, but he didn’t bark or anything. He doesn’t react to TV or PC. But he’ll go crazy if someone plays scales or arpeggios on the piano. I believe it has something to do with the harmonics. Certain songs will make him sing.

He also sings sometimes when other people are singing, but I assure you it’s not a criticism of the quality. We enjoy some great times around the piano with some talented singers (not including myself).
