Coming Soon: The 9/11 Five and “Why We Did It”

[Guest post by DRJ]

The five Guantanamo detainees the Obama Administration plans to try in a New York federal court will plead not guilty so they can air their grievances in a public forum:

“The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.

Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, said the men would not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but “would explain what happened and why they did it.”

Not surprisingly, Ali – a nephew of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed – and the other defendants have a negative view of American foreign policy.

  1. Wouldn’t the judge be able to simply cut them off, in that explaining why they did it was of no importance to the case?

  2. They wouldn’t be doing this if they weren’t very very certain that the little president man’s media was eager to take dictation. The same media what thinks electing the little president man wasn’t enough. Not nearly. America has to pay and pay for what it’s done.

  4. Oh I cannot wait for the show-trial perfectly legitimate, totally fair KSM court case.

This is going to make the OJ trial look like an afternoon nap.

  5. They will, of course, represent themselves so they can get discovery, and discovery, and discovery…

I can hardly wait for closing arguments.

  7. The 5 have only one real “grievance” against us: We are infidels (non-believers) and Allah has commanded the faithful to to wage unending jihad against all infidels. The 5 were fulfilling their highest obligation to Islam, Holy War, as clearly explicated in the Koran.

Now, apprehended in mass murder and undeniably guilty, the 5 will allege “grievances” in a deceitful attempt to protect Islam from exposure as a bloodthirsty totalitarian ideology seeking world domination.

This deception is called Taqiyya, it is the traditional first effort to shift attention away from the real motivation for the atrocity, the precepts of mainstream Islam, and to portray the perpetrators as victims (of US foreign policy in this case)who were only seeking justifiable revenge.

In this way Islam can distance itself from the atrocity, continue to market itself as a peaceful religion, and prepare to strike again.

PS: Taqiyya is well covered in basic texts on Islam, google it, see for yourself.

  8. I wonder how many American Muslims support the 9/11 attacks.

    John Henry Eden (9284aa)

  9. Mohammed, Ali and the others will explain “their assessment of American foreign policy,” Fenstermaker said.

“Their assessment is negative,” he said.

    Whaaat????

“Holder said such concerns are misplaced, and any pronouncements by the suspects would only make them look worse.

“I have every confidence that the nation and the world will see him for the coward that he is,” Holder told the committee. “I’m not scared of what Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has to say at trial – and no one else needs to be, either.””

    What a relief.

  13. I wonder how many American Muslims support the 9/11 attacks

IMO the number would be relatively small if based on a survey, but significantly higher if we could somehow look into their minds.

  14. I don’t think people should go along with the pretense that this isn’t an explicit effort to recast 9/11.

  15. SURELY, the stenographers in the MSM will take the time to explain to the masses that any complaints that the poor unfortunate defendants might have actually relate to the policies of the Clintoon Administration and before.

Especially given that 10 months after the most recent Administration change, GWB is personally blamed for everything from the global economy to toilet paper running out in a WH powder room!

  18. #8, JHE, I don’t have an firm answer, but I’ll give you my best estimate.

Jihad, or Holy War on infidels is a religious obligation of the highest level, clearly expressed in the Koran. Which is understood by Muslims to be the verbatim word of Allah and binding on every believer. Jihad is thus a religious duty and cannot be ignored or evaded.

Allah clearly attaches the greatest importance to jihad and has promised a splendid reward to Muslim fighters. Those Muslims not actively engaged in violent conflict with infidels are expected to render aid and support to jihadis without hesitation.

Most Muslims I’ve met seem pretty conscientious about their faith, especially when other Muslims are around. Anyway, believers who wishes to remain within the limits of Islamic tradition are subject to the obligations of jihad, no exceptions.

Consequently, I’d estimate the proportion of American Muslims who support 9/11 is equal to the number of Muslims who take their religion seriously.

  19. Charles Krauthammer said this better than me.

The American system of justice depends on the truth. It is not perfect. Sometimes the guilty go free. Sometimes the innocent are convicted. And there are remedies in place to correct injustices in regards to the law

However, we, as a civilized nation, have to assume the course of justice allows each and every citizen the right to face our peers in a court of law.

The President, and his Attorney General, have decided that KSM and his cohorts are our peers. So, they must face justice under the Constitution, just as you or me.

If they are found not guilty in a fair trial, they should be set free. In the absence of a verdict, in a fair trial, they should be set free in anticipation of another trial.

If they are found guilty, they should be subjected to the consequences of the jury and entitled to appeal.

But how can any of the above happen when the President and the Attorney General have already alleged that they are, indeed, guilty, and will not go free?

  20. Could you please explain to me how you can plead guilty and then, as your defense, explain how and why you actually committed the crime?

  21. how much longer are we going to have to endure happyfeet? Its really obvious from his sentence structure and word choice that his native tongue is spanish, and the repeated references to obama as “little” is classic south of the border racist terminology. Reading a mexican (or maybe… Hugo? Is that you el presidente?) troll incoherently dump on america and on the president (with racially charged comments) is starting to detract from my enjoyment of the site anyway.

  23. You are an idiot, chaos – feets is most welcome here, and your insane ideas about him indicate something much more disturbing than previously imagined.

    Dmac (a964d5)

  24. #21, J, the New York 5 will never explain why they actually committed the “crime,” to do so would reveal the true nature of Islam. To the NY-5, and to Muslims in general, it wasn’t a crime at all, it was an act of jihad, a religious obligation.

However, jihadis know full well their bloodthirsty slaughter of 3000 innocent lives is outrageous to non-Muslims and might awaken infidels to the true danger Islam represents.

To prevent disclosure, and to maintain the pretense that Islam is a religion of peace, Muslims employ time-tested strategies going back over hundreds of years to conceal Islam’s totalitarian ideology. Various forms of deception and deceit are codified in Taqiyya, which is a fundamental component of Islam.

In the Hadith, taqiyya (roughly translated as deceit) is recommended as “more necessary than courage” for the violent advancement of Islam. I believe it was no less an authority than Muhammed who said that “War is Deceit.” So much is deceit an integral part of Islam that Allah himself is often called the “ultimate deceiver,” and the “ultimate schemer.”

The NY-5 have two goals, first and foremost to protect Islam from exposure, and second to continue their jihad against the Great Satan by using Obama’s unimaginably wonderful gift of a Broadway stage and international publicity to propagandize against America proclaiming a list of “grievances” designed to portray themselves as victims and to show potential jihadis world-wide how weak, stupid, and easily bamboozled are the infidels, how ripe the West is for the taking.

  28. look, in law we say that if your opponent is in the process of committing suicide, don’t interfere with him. that seems to apply here. they want to plead guilty and tell us why they did it? good, go for it. i am sure new yorkers will send them to death gladly for it.

  31. By putting the NY-5 jihadis on trial in criminal court, Barack Obama is revealing his true loyalties to Islam. However, in the deceitful attempt to evade early detection and exposure, Obama used AG Eric Holder to announce the apparently baffling decision, and to make the unbelievably idiotic (and false) claim that Holder alone had decided to reward the despicable mass murderers with a show trial in the shadow of the Twin Towers.

It occurs to me that in an astonishing parallel, Barack Obama’s current situation in Afghanistan is strikingly similar to Major Hasan’s predicament prior to his shooting spree at Fort Hood. I’m weaving two threads together here, I’ll explain.

Hasan, like all devout Muslims was guided by Islam’s most authoritative text: The Holy Koran which is understood to be Allah’s words verbatim. In cases where the Koran is silent, illustrative examples taken from the life of Muhammad inform the faithful.

The Koran is unambiguous on the topic of jihad, or Holy War against non-believers (infidels) in order to spread Islam, peacefully if possible and violently if necessary, the world over, unceasing till all land and all people submit to the will of Allah.

To accomplish world domination, Muslim fighters are accorded great latitude in the pursuit of jihad, even going so far as to pretend allegiance to other religious traditions. Muslims may worship idols, kneel before the Christian cross, give false testimony in law courts even after swearing on the Bible to tell the truth, lie, cheat, steal, plunder, rape, marry infidels, and even murder innocent women and children wholesale. In short, Muslim jihadis may commit any crime except one, they may not kill a fellow Muslim in good standing. However, traitors to Islam and Muslim women who bring dishonor to the family must be killed as a religious obligation.

The possibility of contributing to the death of fellow Muslims was the spark that ignited Hasan’s bloody jihad at Fort Hood. Correspondingly the possibility that Obama will be responsible for contributing to the death of al Qaeda’s Muslim jihadis is behind his apparent “dithering.”

In the same way that Hasan tried to avoid deployment to Afghanistan, Obama is trying to avoid responsibility for strengthening the American infidel forces arrayed against al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Hasan sought guidance via emails to his religious leader, Obama went himself to consult Islam’s highest Wahhabi authorities, seeking guidance.

Obama showed his submission to Islam with a very deep and public low bow to the King of Saudi Arabia, seeking guidance for a way to give the appearance of fulfilling his role as President of the Great Satan, and yet which would still allow his hands to remain uncontaminated with the blood of the faithful.

After he took office, Obama had tried to minimize the threat to al Qaeda in Afghanistan by changing the rules of engagement for US forces, in general seeking to employ the techniques of civilian law enforcement, complete with all the attendant domestic rights and protections reserved for the accused, as a substitute for American war fighting procedures.

But, like Major Hasan the day of reckoning was fast approaching. Hasan couldn’t deploy to Afghanistan and remain a true Muslim, and Obama can’t grant General McChrystal’s request for more war fighters without violating one of Islam’s primary commands. Was an accommodation found? I don’t know.

So, we now find ourselves stuck on stupid, with ever more “dithering” over Afghanistan with the lives of American soldiers hanging in the balance, and a show trial in New York designed to humble Uncle Sam, and to inflame jihadis world wide.

Meanwhile, the US economy is tanking, Stimulus plans result in phony jobs and succeed only in stimulating more debt, the healthcare debate distracts our attention, global warming (or climate change) is revealed to be the vast empty fraud it always was, and I’m preaching to an empty church, and making silly submission errors.
