He’s Back

Jeremiah Wright is back and he’s still wrong:

“A new video of Jeremiah Wright has surfaced, showing Barack Obama’s pastor of 20 years praising Marxism and discussing his ties to communists in El Salvador and Nicaragua and the Libyan government. Equally important, Wright is being introduced in the video by Robert W. McChesney, co-founder of Free Press, an organization which has come under scrutiny for its links to the Obama Administration and dedication to the transformation and control of the private media in the U.S.”

Here’s the video from September 2009:

Wright: “Thank you to the founders of this magazine. Thank you. Thank you for fulfilling the invaluable purpose that you had in mind to offer a forum for commentary and analysis from a specifically socialist perspective. *** You state up front that your starting point is “no-nonsense Marxism” but you dispel all the negative images we have been programmed to conjure up with just the mention of that word Socialism or Marxism.”

Wright also described America as the “land of the greed and the home of the slave.”

  1. I’m sure Barack is just shaking his head in wonder. “This is not the Jeremiah Wright I knew.”

  2. RACISTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I’m guessing the party line will be – Obama never heard any of these views either in 20 years of sermons or conversations with his Spiritual Mentor and Moral Compass. Heh!

  4. The link is really interesting… a sort of ‘connect the dots’,

Ironically, McChesney’s Free Press organization has received at least $1 million from the Open Society Institute of billionaire George Soros, a mega-capitalist who seems to have dedicated his life to overturning the system that made him wealthy.

There are several ironies, the first being obvious and stated, but the second is how ironic all these stray ends seem to always lead back to Soros.

  5. Dana – Hasn’t Soros visited the White House four times (maybe only two) this year? Podesta has been a very frequent visitor as well.

  6. Um. For a socialist or Marxist, this fellow sure has a big house. What’s with that?

Rules for thee, but not for me?

Marxists with 300 dollar shoes bore me.

  7. Yes, four times. SEIU’s Andy Stern at the top of the list.

I don’t think they let you into Elaine’s wearing fatigues.

  9. Andy Stern from the SEIU visited 20 times! The color purple.

  10. Eric, if a Marxist has 300 dollar shoes, is he really a Marxist? Can he even possibly be a Marxist???

    Dana (e9ba20)

  11. What a pathetic opportunist. I wouldn’t want to be in your shoes “Reverend” come Judgement Day. If you like Marxism and Socialism so much why don’t you just pack your bags and leave the USA? There are plenty of other countries that are already established in that garbage and they would be glad to have you I am sure. Of course you won’t go, you plan on cashing in right here don’t you?

  12. Dana, I could write a novel about the Marxism spouting academics I knew in California, who wore expensive clothes and drove SUVs.

Come to think of it, Tom Wolfe did that a couple of decades ago.

I invented the term “Marxist in 300 dollar shoes” to celebrate a former colleague of mine, in fact: she lived the fantasy of speaking truth to power while wearing designer shoes. Power to the People—after she finished her Nordie’s run, I mean.

    Eric Blair (dd11cc)

  13. Ah, Eric, the bourgeois are just Marxist poseurs at heart…it’s so romantic.

    Dana (e9ba20)

  14. Those berets are simply fabulous, Dana.

And Bush is stupid. And evil. Never forget that; it’s important.

    Eric Blair (dd11cc)

  15. How can we forget EB, it’s seared into our brains.

  16. It’s more important than an inexperienced and oversensitive Chicago racialist with ties to criminal organizations being elected President, and a dumb as a box of rocks gaffe-o-matic being Vice President.

Boy howdy, I am glad that Sarah Palin wasn’t elected VP.

Say, has anyone every quizzed that foreign policy expert Biden about what he reads and why? I’m just sayin’.

    Oh well.

  17. Who is James Dimon? Kim Gandy has been there 15 times already. Immelt 5. Rev Jess 6. Michael Moore 8. Al Sharpton 2. Malik Shabazz. George Soros 4. Andy Stern 20. Trumka 5. Rev Hatey.

  18. He probably never did hear Wright’s fulminations; after all, church to Barack is golf course to us.

(It is to me, too, but I don’t lie about it.)

    Patricia (b05e7f)

  19. James (Jamie) Dimon is the CEO of JPMorgan Chase Bank and a director of the NY Federal Reserve. A lot of the names released by the White House are CEOs of some of America’s largest companies.

  20. He is for the small guy, DRJ.

    JD (6dce29)

  21. Jamie Dimon’s come a long way since his much – heralded stewardship of 1st Chicago Bank. He was a hell of a manager back then, too bad he’s now reduced to genuflecting in front of his gov’t paymasters for his company’s survival.

  22. Regarding that video link- It must have offended somebody, it’s gone now.

    The vimeo site says:

“Sorry, “Rev Jeremiah Wright (introduced by Robert McChesney) at Monthly Review’s 60th Anniversary” was deleted at 9:45:56 Tue Nov 3, 2009. We have no more information about it on our mainframe or elsewhere.”
