I was somewhat shocked when I watched that. SNL is finally able to poke fun at The One. Of course, they used a white actor to do it. RACIST!!!!!1!
I was starting to wonder if they forgot how to make fun of the left.
SomeOtherSteve (babbe4) — 10/4/2009 @ 5:17 pmLet us not forget: Obama has done one thing in his presidency. He signed into law the single largest pork barrel bill in the history of the world.
Steven Den Beste (99cfa1) — 10/4/2009 @ 5:47 pmDoes it count as the largest if they don’t spend as much stimulus bill money as they did with TARP? How much of TARP was spent anyway? To me, that was just sending pork to all the Wall Street guys who helped BOTH sides of the aisle for so many years.
SomeOtherSteve (babbe4) — 10/4/2009 @ 6:20 pmOf course, they used a white actor to do it.
To be fair, that actor appears to be of mixed-race descent, as is Obama himself.
And just as I’m always puzzled over the current guy in the White House somehow worming his way into the presidency, I’m always puzzled why SNL still is on the air after all these years.
Mark (411533) — 10/4/2009 @ 6:52 pmWell, if you consider who does still watch SNL, I think the skit was pretty clear:
“Get on the boat, Obama, before we lose our chance.”
Ag80 (4254fd) — 10/4/2009 @ 8:32 pm“How much of TARP was spent anyway?” Timely question!

I see this SNL skit as a big break actually. Up until now, it has been verboten to make fun of Obama, or to make any real criticism of the democrats.
Look what happened with the previous SNL skit on the bank bailouts/ home loan issues. It wsa shocking to see that skit produced at all, but it then vanished almost immediately.
If this skit lasts through the week, I think it may be the first big crack in the dyke.
NavyspyII (df615d) — 10/4/2009 @ 8:39 pmI wish Obama had done nothing, but Zelaya and Chavez and Ahmedinejad are much better off today because of Obama’s decisions.
Our deficit is much worse, and our war effort, as SNL pointed out, is much worse off.
If Obama resigned and let Biden take over, I know there would still be a lot of problems, but I have no doubt the nation would be much better off for it.
Dustin (bb61e3) — 10/4/2009 @ 8:59 pmThanks, gp. I think TARP and the Stimulus are about neck and neck vying for the biggest new contributor to the national debt in the past 12 months or so.

The Greenroom » Forum Archive » SNL and the Obamalypics: Only the beginning? (e2f069) — 10/4/2009 @ 9:33 pmObama jumped the shark when, during one of his many speeches, my children started to mock his diction and cadence “Well, what I think I’m gonna do is sit down, meet with key people, and plan another speech…”
Californio (55068d) — 10/5/2009 @ 12:34 amOh, and I heard that Ted McGinley is going to join the Obama administration.
Californio (55068d) — 10/5/2009 @ 12:35 amGee, if that’s true, Obama has jumped the shark for sure. Ted McGinley – Killer of comedies and Presidencies.
