Allahpundit remembers 9/11
[Posted by Karl]
Allahpundit wrote about his memories of the 9/11 attacks on Twitter last night. Television’s Andy Levy was good enough to collect them for his debut in HotAir’s Greenroom. Removed from their original context — appearing one after the other, two or three a minute — these tweets lose a tiny bit of their immediacy, or the feeling of reliving events in real time. But they remain compelling.
Reading his story is a reminder that Allahpundit — as significant as he has been to the blogosphere — would not exist as we know him but for those despicable al-Qaeda attacks eight years ago. The man has great skill, and I am glad to have gotten to know him a little through Twitter. Yet I am reminded today that a part of me wishes there was no reason or need for an Allahpundit.

AP gets folks mad for his dismissive treatment towards Palin a while back, but he’s one of the best contributors to the blogosphere out there in spite of being able to annoy the right half the time. This was the best memorial I’ve read of 9/11 recently.
I hate remembering 9/11, but it’s important that I do. Especially now, when it seems the day has been renamed ‘Ted Kennedy Day’ and I’m supposed to go out and do community organizing or recycling so that the democrats can minimize focus on an issue they don’t poll well on.
9/11 isn’t a political day. America didn’t deserve this. Clinton and Gorelick and Bush all had bad policies in 20/20 hindsight, but this wasn’t America’s fault at all. We can’t even come together for remembering this, and that’s sickening.
Juan (bd4b30) — 9/11/2009 @ 9:36 amAllahpundit has a unique talent with words. Last night’s series of tweets was a different side of that, and it was beautiful.

I reposted my ‘political’ post from 2 years ago, considering no one reads my blog, it caused a stir (heh)
AP is a great writer who simply has differing opinions on things than I do 🙂
Lord Nazh (8d682b) — 9/11/2009 @ 10:37 amI remember last year how the Barack Obama voters observed this day. This was before Barack Obama became the president of our little country, so this was before September 11 became a National Day of Service. This year I think mostly they’re recycling stuff.

I did, and the second plane had not hit yet. When I got to college, as I walked up to the television studio in the Basket Ball Arena my professor walked out, and with the sun reflecting off the domed arena a shadow threw his hands up and hollered, “Go home and turn on the television…This is your Pearl Harbor” That is why I built this site. Joe Burns was his name.”
I found this on http://pledgeamerica.org/blog/ pretty cool opinions there…

Karl (f07e38) — 9/11/2009 @ 12:01 pmI couldn’t read all the way through but I skipped to the end and found this gem…
That’s so… thought-provoking.
happyfeet (71f55e) — 9/11/2009 @ 12:16 pmKarl, there are no words for that link. It is something everyone should read, though. Perhaps tomorrow, at least. These people make politics out of 9/11 in a way Bush never dreamed of.
Juan (bd4b30) — 9/11/2009 @ 12:18 pmKarl – Thanks a lot. I feel dirty for having read that.

the time for bickering is over (at least for a second) « Interesting Creature (5381c6) — 9/11/2009 @ 6:01 pmI’m only posting this because I should.
Terrorist hijackers killed more than 2,500 people in 2001. The victims were doing nothing more than doing their jobs or riding in an airliner.
And the ultimate result was that their deaths became nothing more than a political football.
God bless their souls.
