  1. If Treacher had snuck “wee-wee’d up” into it, it would be perfect.

  2. Treacher is putting together a very good run.

  3. People don’t talk enough about how Barack Obama’s dirty socialist health scheme will destroy medical innovation. The worst of it is that Barack Obama knows this and wants a dirty socialist government takeover of health care anyway. He’s a sick misanthropic tool I think. America was better before Barack Obama was president.

  4. Happy, I think it was better before he was born but I’m a curmudgeon.

  5. Happy – The worst of it is that Barack Obama knows this and wants a dirty socialist government takeover of health care anyway.

The more I see of Obama’s ‘ideas’, the less convinced I am that he has any specific ideological alignment.

If you look at his actions, and ignore what he says – extension of indefinite detentions, reduction of government transparency, failure to make critical appointments, weakening of the IG system and on and on – it seems to me that his objectives don’t fit socialism or any other political ideology.

I say this because Obama and the Democrats don’t seem to be interested in writing legislation that is unarguably beneficial to ‘the little guy’, and as such is doomed to corruption, abuse and eventually failure (but not before they make obscene profits). Obama’s legislation is extremely vague because the goal is running an incredible amount of money through the hands of a few people, and they don’t want any truly independent watchdog group having anything to say about where those funds are spent and to who they’re allocated. The more vague the initial legislation, the more flexibility they have in implementing actions favorable to their associates.

Obama’s actions don’t really fit the template of socialist, but he needs his followers who are socialist to believe that they do.

Obama’s actions do fit Chicago politics and the naked accumulation of the power to allocate government funds and to use part of that money to prop up associates that will attempt to keep them in power.

Again, to the dense lefty trolls:
Obama isn’t interested in helping people. Anecdotes about his relatives and others from his past indicate that when it comes to actually lifting a finger to help others, Obama simply won’t make any effort.

He needs his army of leftists to make the effort, and to do so willingly, without looking behind any curtains. Ignore the deal with Big Pharma, and the meetings with insurers, as well as the AMA and the ABA. ‘We’re trying to help the little guy!’.

When you label him a socialist, happyfeet, you’re giving him a cachet with socialists that he really doesn’t deserve, and it translates into support that he really doesn’t deserve. If people could just step back and examine his actions and discount his rhetoric, it starts to be painfully obvious.

The President and his administration are thieves. It’s just business.

  6. Maybe so, Apogee. I don’t disagree that Obama expects to profit from his Presidency but I also think he believes socialism can be incrementally introduced via American institutions instead of by popular demand. The takeover of education by Progressives is a prime example and something he observed first-hand in his own education and in Chicago with Bill Ayers. Obama’s choice of where and who to fund is consistent with this view.

In addition, Obama could also be using the 2008 financial downturn to pursue a Cloward-Piven strategy in order to impose federal control over social issues.

  7. I think you’re confusing his shallow pompousness and inflated self-regard with a lack of ideology. He has one. It does have more to do with resonating with the right people than with policy – you’re right about that – but his dim grasp of socialist economics is very very essential to his very real sense of moral superiority I think. He’s not a big thinker or a clever boy, but he knows enough cant and dogma to make himself feel like the last pudding pop in the box.

  8. Which flavor pudding would that be, happyfeet?

  9. Hmmm. Definitely definitely not Watermelon cause how racist would that be? A lot racist I think. But he’s no Cotton Candy either. Probably Juicy Pear I think is how he fancies himself. They have a curious fixation with fruit, these ones.

  10. Denounced. A million times denounced. I now have Strawberry Guava Fuze all over my desk.

  12. You know, if Democrats are so excited about Kervorkiancare, why don’t they celebrate by committing suicide?
