Tom Boggioni Celebrates Palin Announcement in the Usual Way: By Mocking Palin’s Children
Tom Boggioni aka TBogg, “one-time darling of the mail-order panties set and current czar of positioning cash registers to maximize retail commerce and flow,” photoshops a picture of the Palin family to make all its members — including the children — look devilish.
It’s funny because Boggioni uses Palin’s children to make a political point. Get it?
He is — literally — demonizing Palin’s children.
In the sort of humorous touch for which the “former bulk purchaser of women’s undergarments” has become famous, he includes Trig Palin in the picture. Because what’s a Photoshopped picture of Palin’s children without the Down’s Syndrome child? Original picture here:
Can such a performance be topped? Yes and no. HuffPo had a post up titled Palin Will Run in ’12 on More Retardation Platform.
At least HuffPo was ashamed enough to take this down. Boggioni is proud of what he did.
My usual call for civility in the comments will be relaxed for this thread.
UPDATE: Tim McGarry, a left-leaning occasional commenter here, goes to Boggioni’s site and lets him have it, saying (among other things): “If there were any justice, however, your vicious photoshop attack on her children would be the end of you as a blogger.” Tim is no conservative, and he gets in his shots at Palin as well. But I applaud his willingness to take on Boggioni’s nastiness.
Unfortunately, this sort of crap isn’t going to end Boggioni’s blogging career; it’s precisely what his readers want from Boggioni.

Palin’s 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, is an unwed, teenage mother.
I know damn well either the writer or editor crafted that paragraph in a deliberate, dishonest fashion in order to minimize Letterman’s sleazy, old-man, comment about Palin’s 14 year old daughter, Willow.

It says they “supplied” the home supplies as though they gave it as a gift in exchange for contracts. And they claim Palin did a commercial for them, and they sponsored her husband’s snowmobile team.

Fellow governors and leaders of the party should be making (and should have been all along) a collective hard-line stand against the media’s rabid attacks on Palin and her family, not just McCain.
It’s a Republican problem, not just a Palin problem. They should be out front standing for and protecting their own because it could so easily be them and their families, and because it’s a united cause for the party.
A firmly united front that doesn’t waver and isn’t afraid to consistently call out the media on their unfounded accusations, brazen attacks, and blatant biases would go a long way toward in least reminding everyone that we are not a party of cowards but a party that isn’t afraid to face the enemy and a party that should be taken seriously.
The attacks happen because not only do they work but because there is no pushback. We are the easier target because we’ve allowed ourselves to be.
Afraid, of course being the definitive word.

I just don’t understand the issue. a) politicians do this because we won’t elect politicians who don’t have families. b) this really is who Palin is. When she didn’t have her family around her on the campaign trail, she got pretty depressed. They had to fly the whole family out to get her back on her game.
Obama talks about his kids and it’s honestly comforting to me. As crazy as he seems, at least we share a connection to the future, and perhaps that means he at least intends to improve the future. It’s like adults are finally back in charge (although I do have major problems with Rham, the worthless Harry Reid, Pelosi, lieberman, and several other corporate whores).
Bush was an unmitigated disaster. He’s still an illiterate alcoholic who speaks directly with jeebus. The man’s a chronic failure, has never done anything on his own, and always relied on his family’s name and connections. If he was born with a different last name, to some nobody family, he’d be lucky to work at walmart. Soldiers need support. It’s so easy to say you support the troops and use that as a political bludgeon. I see it used here is a vapid and meaningless way. If he is fictional, then what does it say about the person making up such a person that he describes that imaginary character as gay? But perhaps it’s good the creator of a possibly fake “main squeeze” at least is honest about one aspect of himself.
Then again, we live in an age of “do your own thang, baby,” and “let it all hang out!” Mark Sanford is a very good recent example of how common that attitude has become. Sort of a rightist version of shameless and flaky Bill Clinton.
Beyond that, it would be interesting to do a study on whether homosexuality makes a person far more prone to poor judgment and bad decisionmaking. I know surveys indicate at least 80% of such people are of the left, and when much of the balance (perhaps 15%?) may be somewhat similar to an Andrew Sullivan, that may indicate innately impaired judgment.
ABC radio commentator Al Rantel, who is gay and generally rightwing, mentioned on election night last November that he happily or nonchalantly voted for ultra-leftwing Barack Obama.
Again, sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular — certainly in the case of the male (homo, hetero or bi) who’s sometimes mocked for having his penis where his brain is — appears to impact the judgment (and often negatively too) of various people on any number of occasions.

I know a little bit about the military too. My father’s oldest brother was saluted by German troops standing on parade, as their prisoner, for fighting them so gallantly in the Balkans. My father was in mechanized mountain troops. His next youngest brother was infantry mountain troops. The brother after was Presidential honor guard.

I would also observe that President Bush acted with grace and dignity during his term. In return he was constantly attack in the vilest form, his family insulted, death threats made, and the worst innuendoes and rumors spread. I wonder if you’d tell us what degree of success the rsponsible, descent members of the Left had in restraining these attacks.
As a follow on, would you expect the next Republican president to suffer the same sort of degenerate outrages even if he behaves with grace and dignity?

Moreover, even in super liberal, super libertine Hollywood — and even in today’s generally permissive, oh-so-tolerant, shock-proof culture — actors who are involved in homosexuality are known to conceal their behavior.
