Tom Boggioni Celebrates Palin Announcement in the Usual Way: By Mocking Palin’s Children

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:59 pm

Tom Boggioni aka TBogg, “one-time darling of the mail-order panties set and current czar of positioning cash registers to maximize retail commerce and flow,” photoshops a picture of the Palin family to make all its members — including the children — look devilish.

It’s funny because Boggioni uses Palin’s children to make a political point. Get it?

He is — literally — demonizing Palin’s children.

In the sort of humorous touch for which the “former bulk purchaser of women’s undergarments” has become famous, he includes Trig Palin in the picture. Because what’s a Photoshopped picture of Palin’s children without the Down’s Syndrome child? Original picture here:

Can such a performance be topped? Yes and no. HuffPo had a post up titled Palin Will Run in ’12 on More Retardation Platform.

At least HuffPo was ashamed enough to take this down. Boggioni is proud of what he did.

My usual call for civility in the comments will be relaxed for this thread.

UPDATE: Tim McGarry, a left-leaning occasional commenter here, goes to Boggioni’s site and lets him have it, saying (among other things): “If there were any justice, however, your vicious photoshop attack on her children would be the end of you as a blogger.” Tim is no conservative, and he gets in his shots at Palin as well. But I applaud his willingness to take on Boggioni’s nastiness.

Unfortunately, this sort of crap isn’t going to end Boggioni’s blogging career; it’s precisely what his readers want from Boggioni.

  1. [As I say two comments below, I disapprove of targeting Obama’s children. They didn’t do this despicable act. Tom Boggioni did. — P]

I am going to start photo shopping Obama’s

  2. These people are really some sick, bile-filled, despicable pieces of crap.

Its rather typical of Democrats these days to sport a bumper sticker that reads “Hate is not a family value” right next to some bile-filled insult of a GOP figure.

Its more than a bit scary that these juvenile gits think this is deep thought.

  10. So what else is new? This, after all, is the level of intellectual discourse from much of the Left these days. Need we forget Markos, the arsehole of the universe saying of the beheaded US contractors in Iraq, “screw them!” Always remember, class.

  11. I think the Palins can be happy. Probably are much happier now that Sarah made her decision. Leaving politics is consistent with her strong Christian & family orientation.

No way is she running for president, or any other political office. I’m thinking her next step is nationwide speaker in support of traditional values, maybe a TV show. If she does, she’ll draw tens of thousands to hear her, and the grassroots patriots of America will have someone to speak for them. She won’t be alone.

No more ethics allegations to defend. I really don’t think it is in her to disappear.

  25. One major factor in any future for her in politics is the energy situation. Obama is a slow motion disaster in energy. Two years from now we may be seeing blackouts and $6 gas. That may change things considerably. She has a legitimate claim to energy expertise.

  31. Obama has a nice family, I always thought. His wife and I disagree on policies, but that’s life. His kids are adorable and smart and his wife seems like she will stand up for political issues she cares about… which unfortunately are contrary to mine.

I don’t get why people look at Palin’s awesome family and think they are evil. Yeah, some people disagree with Palin’s ideas. But her kids are demons? Really?

We all what this is: Tbogg knows just what a hot button Palin’s family is. He knows that people are outraged with just how awful they’ve been treated. he knows he will get more page hits and sell more ads if he is dishonorable.

So he thinks: honor? or money?

And chose money. Probably 100 bucks or so.

  33. Democrats think when all the principled, honest, working class people are driven out of politics by this sleaze, only Democrats will be left and they will win. They might consider that unless they are rich enough or politically connected enough to be worth bribing with public money, they will be suffering as much as the rest of us will. In the cities run by Democrats like Chicago, LA, Detroit, and DC itself, the little Democrats suffer the same high crime, corruption, high taxes, and poor services as the little Republicans. The fact they helped make the city or country a cesspool will be little comfort when they must live in it.

  34. I just took a look at that TBogg link. I’d never heard of him before tonight. Does he write about manic depression also? His writing style is a little bit Short Attention Span Theater mixed with a rip-off of ehowa.com. Maybe he needs medication.

    Memememe (82c36a)

  35. dcsca, while I have no idea if Palin was rambling or not on Fox, I do know that Obama seemed pretty thin skinned and extremely short on experience and absolutely rambled off the teleprompter many times.

I was honestly flabbergasted by his ability to win any office. He obviously didn’t even think he could win a contest for state senator when he had opponents struck from the ballot, so I suppose he also is in awe of his fortune.

Anyway, you may find yourself in my shoes, amazed that charisma takes someone you disagree with very, very far.

    Juan (ab12c8)

  36. Memememe – For a while he only wrote about what was going on at other blogs, essentially mocking the right. One of his specialties is attacking the appearance or habits of people, so the photoshop is perfectly in keeping with the panty sniffer’s past. For a 158 lb. adonis on cholesterol medication who keeps basset hounds, you just know TBagg is a chick magnet and has no need of taking out his personal insecurities and defects on others. Why he does it is a mystery.

    daleyrocks (718861)

  37. “I was honestly flabbergasted by his ability to win any office.”

Juan – Having the slobbering national press in his pocket and avoiding tough questions or investigative work was easily worth 15 points to him in the presidential election.

    daleyrocks (718861)

  38. Sleazy little punks like TBogg, today, are merely repulsive.

In the near future, however, TBogg and millions more like him will become part of Obama’s ‘civilian national security force’ which Obama says will be ‘as well equipped and as strong as our military’ and will be given real power…and guns.

The ‘brownshirts’ of any society are always the uneducated, mindless, hate-filled dregs of the population.

These thugs have no real allegiance or connection with their countrymen; in fact, like Obama, they grew up learning only hate for their country and contempt for their fellow citizens.

Therefore they will have no problem with doing Obama’s ‘wet work’; kicking down doors, terrorizing his opponents, intimidating voters, being agents provocateur, perhaps eventually even confiscating guns and making political arrests.

    Tailgunner (bfd91a)

  39. I actually didn’t link TBogg in this post. You can find his cesspool if you really want to.

  40. I agree with Mark Steyn over at The Corner.

Politics, as it has so many times before, has reached the point that no one can escape unscathed, especially on a national level.

And our elected officials go off on junkets to enjoy the fruits of our labor, while telling us that government can only succeed with more sacrifice.

To tell the truth, why would anyone run for office who disagreed with the status-quo. The Democratic machine and its enablers are, frankly, too strong to overcome.

Machinist is right. You can see the results of Democratic authority in states such as New Jersey, New York, Michigan, California, et al.

But the tide has turned and the body politic want the entire country to only be as successful as these failed states. They are hoping for change and all they will receive is a crumbling piece of a badly made pie.

  41. Got a message on Twitter today from a fellow bitterly complaining that Palin had made bizarre and cruel remarks “wishing developmentally disabled and diseased children on families” – so apparently that was spin of the moment on her reflection of the blessing the child has been to her.

He was tired, he later said, to explain his distortion, of Palin “pimping her disabled child for her political views” which I found amazingly blinkered and distorted thinking.

I told him he might consider these are her LIFE views, and that pride in her child and love for him is not, as he seems to think it must be, some kind of misleading, false testimony.

Trig is just, at bottom, in that persons mindset, too Icky and awful and tragic for her to speak of him lovingly or gratefully, and MEAN it.

    DCSCA (9d1bb3)

  44. ag80, that’s the kind of thing that will get people to actually show up and vote.

How many conservatives would have made sure to vote for Palin?

Palin gets a lot of flack fromt he left, but it’s not the kind that makes the left show up and vote. That twittering drunk friend of yours was trying to be fashionable. No one really can stomach hating someone’s down’s syndrome child in private. The other Palin thread here mentioned that Palin support had too high a quotient of ‘because the left HATES her’ as justification. I agree with that, but the left makes it sooooo easy.

  45. #1. We need to stop using high school language

#2. We need to follow Cynthia Yockey’s advice and get Letterman fired.

Be calm and in control, start writing and phoning, and use TBogg as an example of why it is necessary to make an example out of David Letterman. The bullies will persist until we take them out.

This is the sort that believe Palin secretly wishes she had aborted Trig. Their grasp of love is so small and limited.

    Dana (8d88ef)

  47. DCSCA, no thanks. TV news is just not to my taste.

Like I said, though, Palin isn’t the right’s answer to Obama. The left has personality cults and likes to put big heads on big posters, but the right is more of an ‘ideas’ supporting group.

that’s why Obama has no problem screwing over gay rights groups and spying on Americans and bombing villages in Pakistan. It was never about any of his ideas… just his perty face.

    Juan (ab12c8)

  48. The local rag here, the Pensacola News Journal, publishes columns by a local leftist ambulance chaser and Air America talk show host, Mike Papantonio. His most recent twaddle, which can be found here, blathers about “right wing hate talk”. I read sludge like this, and then see repulsive images like this one, and somehow I suspect that Mike Papantonio reads TBogg. And thinks it’s just awesome. But that’s the left for you.

    radar (20a90d)

  49. The problem with the right is that they are in denial. Obama sanctions this kind of behavior. He slimes everyone and everything that stands in opposition to him. We have ample evidence of this.

So sir please explain why any restraint should be shown. And a trite because “we are better than them” is just another way of saying because pre emptive surrender is an acceptable policy option.

The Left declared the rules. Let them abide by them, so lets hear about Obama’s mutant wife and her children sired by Satan.

    Thomas Jackson (8ffd46)

  50. I don’t advocate any restraint towards TBogg. He is the one who put this photoshop on his site.

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  51. Thomas, I think if we are retraining ourselves from being monsters then we are really monsters.

I don’t WANT to slime Obama’s kids the way Palin’s were.

but to some extent, it is amazing how tepid the fight to defend Palin has been outside the blogosphere. Lately, the right’s columnists were actually piling on Palin. Why, when we have an actual president who is actually screwing up? I don’t know.

If that’s what you mean by restraint, yes, that should go.

    Juan (ab12c8)

  52. I just read an Associated Press dispatch about the Palin resignation. The bias and dishonesty is staggering. But one paragraph stands out:

She didn’t leave the limelight once McCain lost the presidency. She recently led a public spat with “Late Show” host David Letterman over a joke he made about one of her daughters being “knocked up” by New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez during the governor’s recent visit to New York. Palin’s 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, is an unwed, teenage mother.

I know damn well either the writer or editor crafted that paragraph in a deliberate, dishonest fashion in order to minimize Letterman’s sleazy, old-man, comment about Palin’s 14 year old daughter, Willow.

Also, notice “she led a public spat.”

    PC14 (82e46c)

  53. I love how they point out that 18 year olds are teenaged. Thanks AP!

    Juan (ab12c8)

  54. Patterico – Why not consider changing the title of the post by leading off with – Degenerate Leftist Turd…. or something similar?

Now several blogs on the left are floating unsubstantiated rumors of a big Palin ethics scandal coming down the pike which prompted the resignation.

If I have to be a monster to insure no one makes a monster of my wife and kids so be it. But you’ll note that there would be no need for this if the Left were civilized.

So what would you do when faced with such monsters, write an angry letter to the Times? When Obama and his kids are photo shopped this will stop. When the same lies and rumors are told at every chance the rumor mongering will end.

And I also don’t think being very critical and very loud about the tboggs of the world is at all monstrous. Even calling him a sorry piece of shit is pretty honorable, given the circumstances.

I guess I just misunderstood what you meant. The first post on this thread, while I get where that sentiment comes from, is not something we should bother with. If we feel the need to restrain ourselves from it, we need to quit dealing with politics for a while.

And of course, the left is reproachable. to them, this isn’t about ideas. they truly hate Palin in a way that ought to be remembered.

The Left cares about nothing but power. I saw what they have wrought overseas and would not wish them on my worst enemies. Visit Europe to see what decadence means. Europe is dying because of the slacker or yabo culture that “Amused” represents. In Eastern Europe cortesy or respect is gone because of the nanny state. In Latin America or Africa, tribalism, the mother of socialism means there is no incentive to grow or develop.

The Obamanazis lack talent, drive, iniative. They need the nanny state to reward them. The worst illegal alien has 20 times the drive and industry of these slackers.

What drives me crazy is the way the mainstream media ignores the corruption of the Obamanazis. How many dealerships have been given to Obama supporters or had rival dealerships closed?

How many dhimmirat congressmen were trading on bank stocks due to insider information?

The Hawaii Senator Inyoe had two thirds of his fortune in a bank he founded, which he managed to get bailed out. The stink of corruption staggers the mind. Whether it be Dodd’s million dollar castle in Ireland or Clinton’s 400 million dollar fortune we have allowed our nation to be put up for auction by the morally and mentally bankrupt.

In the next twenty years the future generations will not enjoy what I have. But I managed to acquire enough to provide for my family in safer countries. If it goes bad here they will not suffer. For the lemmings, they deserve the racist society Obama is creating where merit and talent matter less than gender, race or creed.

    Thomas Jackson (8ffd46)

  74. The supplier of the home materials is alleged to be the largest supplier of such materials in Alaska (and therefore the most likely supplier). the blog claims they supplied the materials for the sports complex too.

It says they “supplied” the home supplies as though they gave it as a gift in exchange for contracts. And they claim Palin did a commercial for them, and they sponsored her husband’s snowmobile team.

So they are making a very serious accusation, but have no evidence to back it up. Nothing. Even after all these hours since Palin resigned, no one has leaked anything to CNN or anything like that.

It’s important to note that this story came out in October of 2008.

    Juan (ab12c8)

  75. I love Bradblog, its sort of FireDogLake witgh a lobotomy.

    Thomas Jackson (8ffd46)

  77. Poor Juan. Poor wingnuts. Look, ya dolts, the woman started raising a legal defense fund in March, and now she resigns on the Friday before a holiday, a move guaranteed to end her presidential ambitions. And you think it’s business as usual.

You know, maybe you people really ARE as stupid as we’ve always imagined.

    Amused As Hell (66858c)

  78. Imagine, 8 months of attempting to find a single piece of paper or some witness to this deal, and nothing? How much would the National Examiner have paid for a story like this? Probably more than the damn house cost.

Also, bradblog asserts that the Palin family did not know Sarah was resigning until she actually said it. That they were standing there and surprised. That’s obviously false.

What’s amusing is that the comments are cheering that now it’s ‘time to destroy Romney!!!!

  80. Hey Amused, let’s demonstrate stupidity here.

The woman started up a legal defense fund two months ago, and now she announces her resignation (and in any realistic sense, a retirement from politics) on the Friday before a holiday. And you don’t get it.

    And now:

Look, ya dolts, the woman started raising a legal defense fund in March, and now she resigns on the Friday before a holiday, a move guaranteed to end her presidential ambitions. And you think it’s business as usual.

There’s a lot more than “two months” between March and July.

And we also remember that you’re the puppet who claimed that Palin faked her pregnancy and that you had “proof”.

But we DO have proof that your Obama got a sweetheart deal on a mortgage and property from a felon convicted of bribing officials.

You project so much of your Obama’s crimes onto Palin it isn’t funny. Each post you make trying to tear her down demonstrates how little and worthless your Barack Obama’s record and behavior is.

  82. Amused, I will concede that with the current economic policies the federal government has in place, I am probably going to be a bit more poor, as will many ‘wingnuts’, as you put it.

But you have leveled a serious charge and have no evidence. The charge was first made 8 months ago, and there’s nothing. Why is that?

You know, I think tbogg’s a piece of garbage and I regret helping you threadjack it. But I am honestly no more worried about this now than I was then. This is thin.

  83. Leave Obama’s children alone. They didn’t do this. Tom Boggioni did.

I would bet my very life that Obama would love for the right to attack his children. We all know how that would play out. In fact, I will wonder, when it happens, if it’s a moby.

It’s also wrong. Those sweet kids have done nothing to you. Trying to intimidate people out of love for their kids is simply wrong. This nation is not worth the effort if that’s the only way to get it back. But it’s not the only way.

    Juan (ab12c8)

  87. Couldn’t agree with you more, Juan. And trust me, I have no intention of stooping to that level; the payoff isn’t worth the loss of values.

That being said, we need to make it clear to people that HuffPo, that Tbogg, that CelticDiva, that whoever these people are, that it is The One who is paying, guiding, and directing them.

  88. Fine. Don’t get it. Keep falling all over yourselves to worship her. It’s a long way down, wingnuts, and my side is going to be laughing it asses off at you. Again!

    Uh huh.

Meanwhile, we have a POTUS who hired a tax cheat to fix the economy, who thinks his personal charisma is a fair substitute for a coherent foreign policy, who has just doubled our deficit, reneged on promises not to raise taxes on people who aren’t quarter-millionaires, nationalized two auto companies and hired people with no auto industry experience to run them, and who is pushing through the cap-and-trade bill that will extend the tentacles of the Executive branch in nearly every aspect of American life.

You’re right, “Amused As Hell.” It’s a long way down. So your boy Obama (and nobody “worships” him, right?) has the pedal to the metal to get us down there in record time.

The wheels turn slowly. But they do turn, and the Lovely Sarah will be crushed, and that will be the end of her. The real question is: What will the Republicans cook up next week in the self-destructo department?

I would bet my very life that Obama would love for the right to attack his children. We all know how that would play out.

Obama has gone to great lengths to keep his kids out of the public spotlight, but it’s only a matter of time before the wingnuts try to go after them. And when you do, you will feel the true wrath of the American public.

  93. What’s the matter, Amused, don’t have a coherent answer when faced with the facts of Teh One?

We understand why you attack Palin. Your affirmative-action boy is making a fool out of you each and every day, and the only way that he could do so is to remove the competition. Little Baracky has been doing that since he got people tossed off the ballot and got divorce records unsealed. He’s such a lowlife, the only way he can ever succeed is by making the other person look worse.

Pity it’s caught up with him.

Obama has gone to great lengths to keep his kids out of the public spotlight

Except when he hikes them out, alerts the media, and parades them in front of the camera for an ice-cream run.

And remember, Barack Obama said peoples’ families are fair game. Deal with it.

    North Dallas Thirty (a47a0b)

  94. Amused, I think Obama has done fine with his kids, but I think the public has been desensitized to this kind of criticism.

David Letterman joked about having Palin’s 14 year old kid raped. I do not expect anyone so prominent will ever say anything so awful about Obama’s kids, thank goodness. If they do, I will be part of the America that is outraged.

I like how you dismiss the complaint about tax frauds as ‘aww ya wanna whine?’ That’s very ‘we won’ of you.

It occurs to me that, when something like this Palin business happens, what the right needs most is to come together. To be polarized a bit. To have a troll come and laugh about the tax cheats and make easily debunked accusations that we can defeat.

    Thanks.

Now it’s Sarah Palin, the Christian Republican governor of Alaska who is on the brink of indictment for embezzlement.

This is how intense your hatred is — Obama is flying by the seat of his pants, everything is blowing up in his face, and NOTHING he’s proposed — from foreign relations to his plans for universal health care — make a lick of sense. But all you care about is hurting Sarah Palin’s feelings.

It’s almost like you don’t live in America. Do you?

How about those memberships in racist and sexist organizations for Sotomayer, Amused?

And how about those Murtha-PMA Group links, Amused?

Again, Baracky and the Obama Party are sinking deeper and deeper into the mud, so like the good little puppets they are, they start screaming and hollering, flinging it everywhere and hoping to drag others down with ’em.

Obama’s favorables are falling even faster than his deficits and tax-cheats are rising. No wonder Amused is so desperate to divert, delay, and trick — hilariously, by attacking politicians who only did what his own Billy Clinton and Eliot Spitzer were doing.

But yeah, hell of a hard month for the GOP.

They are Christians. Other than that, Amused, in his effort to spin away tbogg’s disgusting efforts, is making it all up as he goes along. Someone noted that Amused claimed Palin wasn’t the parent of her child and had proof. Amused has the same level of proof for the 8… 9? month old accusation of embezzlement.

His source actually didn’t seem to even understand what that word means. They just threw the word in there. Palin had to fight off baseless charge after baseless charge. In the past few months, she won 15 lawsuits.

Have any of you ever been sued? 15 times by the same democrat party stooges? They were never going to stop. This was their goal. I do not think Palin will be running for president, though I hope I’m wrong. I think Palin was simply too good for politics. Wasn’t willing to play that kind of bullshit game where Amused and his political party were willing to do this to people they merely disagree with.

Amused, you are part of a machine that is doing something very terrible to this country.

I don’t mind the guy’s partisanship, but damn, when Obama turned his back on his church of 20 years, I knew right then what he was. I know a lot of people who believe a lot of stupid things, but I respect them for standing up for it.

No one wants to defend Sanford for being an idiot, but his Christianity is probably helping him right now. It’s not a badge of honor, though. At least Sanford is less ashamed of his mistakes than Obama is of his Church.

The end justifies the means (or the meanness) when it comes to these people. I honestly don’t understand how political, sociological, and religious differences metastasize into that kind of viciousness.

You’ve completely lost me. It’s pretty clear that I said that I am not defending Sanford at all. I meant that a philosophy of forgiveness and love is a good thing for someone whose mistake has left their family in trouble.

Amused, you said you had proof Palin’s kid wasn’t hers. And you have no evidence for your embezzlement charge.

LN Smithee is right about people like you, Amused. You’re a bigot of the first order. You have a need to express your unfairness and hatred in front of the people you go out of your way to be unfair towards.

Sanford is not a good man. Edwards forced an aide… who had kids, to lie to the world about fathering Edwards’s illegitimate kid. Edwards paraded his religion and family more than Sanford ever did… was far more a hypocrite and his deed itself unspeakably worse. But he’s a democrat. To be more accurate, he’s anti-republica. So it’s OK.

Amused condemns the right for attacks on Obama’s kids that Amused realizes have only happened in his fantasy. And laughs at the same attacks on Palin that have been documented in this very thread where tremendous asshole tbogg paints a toddler to look like a demon.

  128. Dear Mr. Patterico:

I don’t think that any restraint should be practiced wrt Obama’s children. None at all.

When ever Obama’s poll numbers start to decline, he trots out his children. Bush never used his children and the only time you saw them was when the media caught them drinking under age.

You can’t make the media pay for this shit. You can’t make Letterman, Stewart or any comedin pay for what they have done to Sarah Palin.

But you can make the Obama’s kids pay. You can make Biden’s kids pay. You can make them pay in the same way Palin’s children are paying.

We should destroy them because that is what the democrats are trying to do to Palin, to her kids, any Republican politician, and the United States of America.

You don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.

    jack (d9cbc5)

  129. I don’t want any part of attacking Obama’s kids. When, in the future, they choose to enter politics THEN I’ll vocally disagree with them (if they are socialist communisers like their dad).

There are two people I really hold responsible for the attacks on Palin’s family – Obama and McCain. Obama needs to stand up and tell his party to quit with this shit. It’s demeaning to the ENTIRE country.

McCain needs to trade out his pair of Maverick-Jello balls and grow a pair of solid steel ones and reign his staffers in. I have not heard one friggin word of support for Sarah from him, not. one. word. He’s got nerve after elevating her to allow her to suffer for HIS badly run campaign. Maybe in the 60’s he was brave, awesome. But now? He’s a yellow, petty asshole.

    The Campaign Spot

Of course, some are immune to that by not having kids. Too bad beagles can’t be slandered. They do not care. They eat their own shit you know. Some of their owners should too (since they already roll around in it and throw it at people they disagree with).

    Joe (17aeff)

  132. Obama’s children are off-limits. They aren’t responsible for their father’s asinine policies, nor are they behind the smear attacks on Sarah Palin and her family, the members of the Democrat Party and its PR wing who engage in this abhorrent immorality are the culprits. They’re the contemptible cowards who are responsible.

So, let’s leave the heartless degenerates to themselves, let them wallow in hate and venom, they’ve done it so often and with such relish, it’s actually become remarkable when Democrats exhibit signs of humanity or compassion.

What they hate is what they have become. They torture a woman and her children for political gain. Democrats like to see themselves as kind and compassionate, but the true face of their behavior is reflected in the eyes of every innocent child they hurt.

Honest Democrats, honorable Democrats know they should speak out against these sadistic cruelties or the time will come when no child is safe from sadistic insult, but they lack the courage to stand up and be counted. That’s their shame.

Fellow governors and leaders of the party should be making (and should have been all along) a collective hard-line stand against the media’s rabid attacks on Palin and her family, not just McCain.

It’s a Republican problem, not just a Palin problem. They should be out front standing for and protecting their own because it could so easily be them and their families, and because it’s a united cause for the party.

A firmly united front that doesn’t waver and isn’t afraid to consistently call out the media on their unfounded accusations, brazen attacks, and blatant biases would go a long way toward in least reminding everyone that we are not a party of cowards but a party that isn’t afraid to face the enemy and a party that should be taken seriously.

The attacks happen because not only do they work but because there is no pushback. We are the easier target because we’ve allowed ourselves to be.

  143. Here’s the conclusion of a brilliant expose of the anti-Palin left, from William Jacobson at Legal Insurrection:

I could go on and on. The internet is full of Trig Palin conspiracy theories, name-calling and Photoshopping. No matter what month, event, or excuse, Palin haters find a reason to attack Trig.

If Sarah Palin had aborted Trig, the left would have been okay with it. If she hid Trig offstage and out of sight, all would be good. But treat the child as you would any other child, and that cannot be tolerated.

There is something about a Down syndrome child in plain view which has exposed the moral and emotional bankruptcy of the left-wing of the Democratic party. And they hate Sarah Palin because deep down, they hate themselves for being who they are.

    Kevin Murphy (0b2493)

  144. Leave Obama’s children alone. They didn’t do this. Tom Boggioni did.

So we should go after him and his kids.

What, like lie our way into a multi-trillion dollar war?

    What multi-trillion dollar war?

The bank bailout cost more than both the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.

You can’t make Letterman, Stewart or any comedin pay for what they have done to Sarah Palin.

We could go after media figures by digging up as much dirt on them and then exposing the dirt.

    Michael Ejercito (833607)

  145. And they wonder why she’s pulling out? Honest to god, if that was my family I’d be looking to have a personal word with the funnyman, with an eye to beating him to a pulp, and I bet Gov. Palin’s husband is feeling the same way.

    Yeah, it’s a mystery.

Except, the vast majority of media/entertainment people subscribe to George Raft’s philosophy:
“I don’t care what they say about me in the papers as long as they spell my name right!”

The best revenge for those in the public eye, is to ignore them, don’t watch their TV shows, don’t buy their books, don’t go to their movies, and – most importantly – boycott their sponsors, and let them (the sponsor) know about it.

  150. But you can make the Obama’s kids pay. You can make Biden’s kids pay. You can make them pay in the same way Palin’s children are paying.

This is about as clear a line as can be drawn. Everyone who agrees with that sentiment: I’m not with you. You want to beat your chest and talk about how you want to PLAY TOUGH — and your definition of PLAYING TOUGH is to target the children of your political opponents? Sorry, I’m not taking part in that.

What you do, is you take a putrid asshole like Tom Boggioni, and you pull no punches with respect to HIM. Not his kids, not Joe Biden’s kids, not Barack Obama’s kids. But the Tom Boggionis of the world. The people who think it’s appropriate to target people’s children.

This is about as clear a line as I have found that separates me from the people I want no part of. If your view is that playing “tough” means attacking others’ kids, I do not want to be associated with you.

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  151. Come on, wingnuts, keep it up with the defenses of Sarah Baby! When the corruption indictments get handed down, it will be all the sweeter! I guess you didn’t think the Marky-Mark Sanford affair was laughable enough, so you’ve come back for more?!

    Machinist (95e752)

  155. Amused, we already looked at your scandal in detail. It’s actually been discussed for months. Palin has won 15 similar ethics lawsuits. Why would the democrats sue her on frivolous grounds so many times, when they knew about this 9 months ago?

It’s just another frivolous attempt to stomp on an innocent person who has new and different ideas that threaten your party’s powerful leaders.

Just coming back to say “haha! Same charge again!” almost makes me wonder if you’re a Palin supporter who wants to polarize the right to support her against jerks. I realize this isn’t the case, but you’re really quite counterproductive. Why not discuss something substantive about Palin’s ideas?

I really understand the ‘get tough’ mentality… I think Joe Biden’s kids show us that if we wait long enough, the kids will grow up and become sleazy adults, and we can attack them then. But Palin would be completely unimportant today if her family had not been attacked so harshly. When you attack someone’s family, you are helping them become the enemy of assholes… because you’re being an asshole.

The day we’ve run out of legit things to ridicule the left over is the day we probably should just join them. There’s a reason Amused is talking about Trig’s parentage or random scandals with no evidence: he knows he’s got nothing of substance.

So just join us, Amused! I think you’ll have more fun attacking that fucking weasel Tbogg than you ever had attacking Sarah Palin.

  156. You know what’s funny and entertaining? Right wing microscopic penises imagining themselves as defenders of Palin’s honour. daleyrocks (718861)

    daleyrocks (718861)

  159. Amused as Hell,

Obviously, you can’t quit Palin. People like you make me curious and, well, amused as hell: have you ever stopped and considered what is in you that causes you to take such pleasure in other people’s pain? You obviously have little or no respect for Palin and I understand that. You have even less respect for those here who do respect Palin, and I also understand that, but what exactly is that drives the hate in you?

I can almost see you licking your lips in some deliciously perverse anticipation if she is indicted. You rather resemble a prowling tomcat who is finally, after patiently waiting for so long, just seconds away from the final pounce upon a unfortunately oblivious mouse.

What’s ironic is, most of us who respect her also clearly realize she is human and she is a politician. We aren’t idolaters, nor unclear on the concept of human frailty. None are above the fray and all have fallen short of the mark. If she is indicted, it will be disappointing but not crushing. This won’t break our world, but apparently it will indeed make your world. You therefore seem to be more vulnerable to her actions that we are.

Palin is no different than any of us except that her bad decisions, selfishness, and ego are on display for the world to see. We all get to pretty much keep our human folly, private. I have yet to see any one with a life that isn’t messy. Have you?

    Dana (8d88ef)

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  164. Right wing microscopic penises…

Hm…well, if that’s the case, quite obviously those right wing ones spend far more time at attention than those less patriotic left wing ones.

    Dana (8d88ef)

  165. Dana #165: probably the source of the tough guy locker room sneers. Projection.

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  166. Democrats like to see themselves as kind and compassionate, but the true face of their behavior is reflected in the eyes of every innocent child they hurt.

Actually, the far more telling aspect of what is behind their “progressivism” was best described by a columnist for the New York Times (a liberal, btw,). And, so I’m hauling this out once again because I think it speaks volumes about “progressives.” And why a person who has posted a lot of comments throughout this thread can so easily be a troll (and I often don’t apply that word to posters, but the person in question is, yep, a troll), and is someone worth keeping in mind when reading things like the following:

    New York Times, December 2008:

This holiday season is a time to examine who’s been naughty and who’s been nice, but I’m unhappy with my findings. The problem is this: We liberals are personally stingy.

Liberals show tremendous compassion in pushing for generous government spending to help the neediest people at home and abroad. Yet when it comes to individual contributions to charitable causes, liberals are cheapskates.

Arthur Brooks, the author of a book on donors to charity, “Who Really Cares,” cites data that households headed by conservatives give 30 percent more to charity than households headed by liberals. A study by Google found an even greater disproportion: average annual contributions reported by conservatives were almost double those of liberals.

Other research has reached similar conclusions. The “generosity index” from the Catalogue for Philanthropy typically finds that red states are the most likely to give to nonprofits, while Northeastern states are least likely to do so.

The upshot is that Democrats, who speak passionately about the hungry and homeless, personally fork over less money to charity than Republicans — the ones who try to cut health insurance for children.

“When I started doing research on charity,” Mr. Brooks wrote, “I expected to find that political liberals — who, I believed, genuinely cared more about others than conservatives did — would turn out to be the most privately charitable people. So when my early findings led me to the opposite conclusion, I assumed I had made some sort of technical error. I re-ran analyses. I got new data. Nothing worked. In the end, I had no option but to change my views.”

    Mark (411533)

  167. Dana #160,

Great comment. Vivid imagery that makes a laser-like point.

    DRJ (cdbef5)

  168. “You are just another Tbogg—only far less successful and well known.”

Eric – TBagg is successful and well known?

    SHUT. UP.

I did not know that. How many of his relatives read his blog? For a 158 lb. sterile guido from New Jersey who sleeps with dogs, he can’t have that large a family.

    daleyrocks (718861)

  169. I meant to say impotent rather than sterile, my apologies.

    daleyrocks (718861)

  170. I agree. Dana’s comment is excellent.

Of course, the nastiest commentary is generally reserved for those like “Amused as Hell” who don’t put their names on display. (Generally, not always: there are always the Tom Boggionis of the world who are willing to associate their actual names with attacks on innocent children.) But for the anonyattackers like Amused as Hell, they can hide in their parents’ basements and risk no repercussions to their own actual reputations (although I find it hard to believe that “Amused as Hell” has much of a reputation in the real world either).

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  171. How horrible!

The rabid left can’t let go of the fact that Gov. Palin is a polar opposite of everything they claim to give to women. Gov. Palin is smart, successful, and so many people relate to her and her beautiful family! I wonder if the left knows that they are loosing supporters with the tactics they are employing. No child, democrat or republican, should be attacked. Trig Palin is a beautiful child and I am so proud of Gov. Palin for not hiding him away like the dems wanted.

    Jennfer (6e1561)

  172. Dana, all of that is fine and dandy, but Sarah Baby and her Eskimo stud are going to jail. You don’t raise a defense fund in March, and then resign a governorship halfway into your first term, without telling anyone in advance, unless something big is about to hit.

Another day, another Bible-flingin’ Christian Republican hypocritical thief unmasked for what it is. Is it any wonder that the Republican Party is shrinking like a wool sweater dumped into hot water? The country looks at you freaks and pukes.

I look at you freaks and laugh my ass off, knowing that payback is a bitch and that it couldn’t happen to a nastier and more deserving bunch than the American wingnut fringe.

    Amused As Hell (66858c)

  173. The woman is a certifiable sociopath

As compared with the female loon who is our current Secretary of State? The one who repeatedly claimed — even after the veracity of her claim had been questioned — that she needed to duck from sniper fire when visiting a Bosnian airport as First Lady? And don’t even start in on her uber-dysfunctional (ie, sociopathic nature of meaning-of-is-is behavior) husband, one of the icons of the Democrat Party.

Meanwhile, we have occupying the White House an ass-backwards guy (who believes good is bad — ie, Honduras’s bout with a mini-me version of Hugo Chavez — and bad is good — ie, Iranian elections) who embraced, until the very last second, a “Goddamn America” preacher man, a very fitting image to hold on this July the 4th.

    Mark (411533)

  174. Patterico, your affectation of victimhood is priceless, precious, and — shall I say it? — amusing as hell. Oh, woe is you! Those nasty, nasty Democrats are pointing out that the Christian Republicans are a pack of lying, thieving, hypocrites, and that makes you kick and scream and stamp your little feet about how unfair it all is.

    Poor babies!

    Amused As Hell (66858c)

  175. Amused as Hell,

I get that you loathe Sarah Palin and her family. I get that you are gleeful at the mere thought of her suffering even more. I get that you find Christians hypocritical, Republicans equally so. I get that a vast number of people consider us freaks and puke-worthy, and that the mere thought of us makes your kind want to hurl.

But again, answer the question: what drives the hate in you? Because you wear it like a mantle and probably don’t leave home without it. Do you ever wonder what sort of person you would be if you could throw it off and the hate not be your lifeblood? Who would you be if instead something positive and life affirming gave your life meaning? Instead of the hate.

    Do you get it?

    Dana (8d88ef)

  176. those right wing ones spend far more time at attention than those less patriotic left wing ones.

LOL! The manufacturers of Viagra, therefore, must really love leftwingers.

    Mark (411533)

  177. I don’t “hate” anyone. I do reserve the privilege to laugh my ass off when Christian wingnut criminal hypocrites are unmasked. If that bothers you, then tell your leaders not to do the crime if they don’t expect to do the time. And tell ’em that if too many of them are unmasked as phonies, the public will apply inductive reasoning and throw the whole lot of you out.

Ordinarily, I would counsel mere honesty, but that message is lost on the evangelicals, who consider themselves “saved” and therefore free to lie, cheat, and steal their way through this life. Sweet deal, at least until they’re caught.

    Amused As Hell (66858c)

  178. So your main beef is with fundamentalist Christians, right?

    DRJ (cdbef5)

  179. Annoying as Hell:

Make whatever political arguments you like. That’s obviously not what offends me. What offends me is dragging Palin’s kids into it.

If you think that she makes her kids into props, I disagree, but at least that’s a point that’s about her. (If I think Obama uses his kids as props, I don’t think that observation would be out of bounds either.)

That’s different from a direct attack on the kids.

Cretins like you clap their hands in glee at photoshops of the kids. That’s the difference between you and me. (Well, one of many, I suspect.)

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  180. But again, answer the question: what drives the hate in you?

Dana, it’s inadequacies in his personal life. It always is.

I don’t know the exact nature or extent of those inadequacies, but . . . if you had to bet as to whether this fellow is a) a well-endowed man with a beautiful girlfriend/wife with whom he has a healthy sex life, or b) a plump, pimply virgin tapping venom on his mom’s computer in the basement . . . would you put your money on a) or b)?

I know which way I’d bet.

BWT, Jackson might be the most talented combination of singer/terpsichorean this country ever produced, as well as being a big-time pedophile. Patterico duly pointed out the latter when Jackson left for the children’s theme park in the sky.
But I expect Patterico and his minutiae militia will gloss over, excuse or otherwise make nice about any felonies that might adhere to Sarah and her home-building-hobbyist husband.

    Larry Reilly (45e7a4)

  185. So your main beef is with fundamentalist Christians, right?

At present, the Republican Party is controlled by evanglical Christian whackjobs, who are ever ready to pass judgment on everyone else at the same time that they are screwing and stealing everything in sight, and then lying about it.

At some point, the Republicans will feel pressure to lock their evanglicals in the attic. The evangelicals will comply, and make lamb-like bleating noises to generate public sympathy. Which Fox News, etc. will gladly amplify.

Problem for the Republicans is that, once they deal with the nutcases? Who’s left? The business elite that wrecked the economy and doesn’t want anyone to get any help? That’s why the Republicans have several lean decades ahead of them.

Any Patterico is now wounded because so many people are pointing at you, laughing, and calling you the assholes that you are. Boo hoo. Ya reap what ya sow, Christians. It’s in your goddamn book. Which you should actually try reading every now and then. Some good stuff in there.

    Amused As Hell (66858c)

  186. When anyone cannot present a rational for their policies and arguments you know they have lost in the arena of ideas. When their policies have no purchase and have the same degree of attraction as something that sticks to your shoe on a hot summer’s day and is scrapped off in disgust you can count on them to flinge feeces and resort to rumor, innuendo, lies, and strawmen.

The Dhimmirats have nothing but bromides. So when Palin, whose life refrutes the heart of their policies, whose life rings a sympathetic cord in those of us who have values, well we can count on the Obamanazis to demonstrate that their sceptic tank has no bottom and they will go deeper and deeper.

    Amused as Hell is typical.

Power is what matters. There are no limits to the depths he will not go.

Because such people contribute nothing, achieve nothing, have little to offer that people want. Such people cannot compete and are failures in so many ways. So the only avenue left them is hate.

This hatred is driven by envy. Envy of those who strive and work hard to improve their lot in life. People who demonstrate by works of charity and faith of their values, rather than attacking the weak and innocent, and leaving a slime trail over everything they touch.

Obama is a cancer, but he is not the cause, he is a sympton. It is the Axelrods, Emanuels, and all the professional discontents like Ayers, children of priviledge all, who seethe with hatred and rage.

It is said you can tell a false prophet by the fruit he bears. Imagine the fruit of Amused, Ayers, Wright.

Michelle Malkin who is so flamingly full of bile she was fired from Fox by none other than the bile-filled psychopath Bill O’Reilly, for as loathesome a creep as he is, even he couldn’t stomach her lies. Ann Coulter’s hateful invective is incomparable. Numerous right wing bloggers – example: Debbie Schlussel – advocates the wholesale slaughter through nuclear means if necessary of whole nations of Muslims. And liberals are the Nazis?

Additionally, you morons supported a blatantly criminal administration that killed tens of thousands of civilians and thousands of Americans, drove the country into ruinous debt it will never emerge from, then held teabag rallies in a lame attempt to make the ruination appear to be the fault of a new president coping with the aftermath of that George Bush.

Some of you are so batshit crazy you hope Osama commits more terrorism on US soil so you can have your dream of nuclear annihilation of brown people come true. But that’s not a reflection of hatred, I suppose.

Who’s making “gay jokes?” Patterico is interested in the size of my dick, and says he’s familiar with well-endowed men. Sounds to me like he’s a gay Republican, which isn’t a group that gets a lot of respect from the evangelicals who run your show.

    Amused As Hell (66858c)

  204. The business elite that wrecked the economy and doesn’t want anyone to get any help?

One of the former, most notorious icons of that “business elite” you refer to is right up your alley.

And out of the wreckage? Well, at least not all the news is necessarily bad:

    Spectator.com, January 2009:

By swindling clients out of up to $50 billion, hedge fund manager Bernard L. Madoff has hurt — and in some cases fatally wounded — scores of nonprofit groups and charitable foundations. Through his Social Security-like Ponzi scheme that paid older investors with incoming funds from newer investors, Madoff, a heavy donor to Democratic candidates, also did irreparable harm to the liberal and far-left causes he loves.

At least two major left-leaning charities are closing their doors as a direct consequence of the record-breaking fraud. The giant Picower Foundation had the misfortune to choose Madoff to manage its more than $1 billion in assets. The charity has given away more than $189 million since 1999.

A sizeable chunk of its funding has gone to abortion groups, including NARAL ($3.2 million), Center for Reproductive Rights ($2.5 million), Planned Parenthood ($2.4 million), and Center for Reproductive Law and Policy ($625,000).

Picower Foundation gave $2.9 million to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a public interest law firm that uses politically skewed definitions of racism to indoctrinate children while smearing conservatives who question racial preference programs. The foundation also gave $200,000 to Project Vote (a.k.a. Voting for America), an affiliate of the radical Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

Another affected charity is the JEHT Foundation, which said it expects to close down in January because its benefactors invested in Madoff’s hedge fund. JEHT, an acronym that stands for Justice, Equality, Human dignity and Tolerance, is a reliable funder of far left causes and has given away more than $72 million in grants since heiress and Democratic donor Jeanne Levy-Church founded it in 2000.

JEHT gave $250,000 to the American Institute for Social Justice, an ACORN affiliate. The Saul Alinsky-inspired Institute trains community organizers and in recent years has served as a shadowy financial clearinghouse, directing $9 million to ACORN and two of its other affiliates.

The Madoff scandal has also ended Madoff’s personal philanthropic efforts. Madoff Family Foundation, which reported assets of $19.1 million at the end of 2007, has given $110,000 to the anti-poverty Robin Hood Foundation since 2003.

  205. Amused serves a useful purpose in showing the true face of “tolerance” among the Left. And you wondered where the National Socialists recuited to man the ovens?

Envy drives anger and hatred. Look at the Left’s policies and what are they but driven by class warfare, generational warfare, pitting gender against gender, race against race, religion against non believers, city dweller against the farmer. Hate drives the Left.

Reading Amused reminds me of the Two Minutes of Hate Big Borther used.

    Never ending hatred.

So very Left. One would expect he was at least a member of Obama’s inner circle.

    Thomas Jackson (8ffd46)

  206. Oh, wait, I see. The comment about being familiar with big-dicked men came from Dana. Patterico is interested in the size of my dick, but hasn’t actually come out of the closet about it. That makes more sense within Republican circles. So, Patterico, which airport do you want to meet me in? Minneapolis probably isn’t the best idea, considering.

    MacKenna (666733)

  210. Yeah, gotta be a college student trying to prove how tough he is by seeing how crude he can be with Patterico. That’s going to work out well. Not very smart, though.

But please, do continue to insult the fellow here anonymously.

You might ask how well that worked out for a couple of other tough guys recently.

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  211. Amused? Nah, not so much…rather instead a long boredom has set in…you have nothing substantive to bring to the table, you’re rather hateful, and just like to randomly throw vitriol to see where it sticks. That’s fine but most of us left jr. high eons ago. Whatever.

  216. You know, Patterico, I just don’t understand something. If someone holds you in such contempt…why spend any time posting here?

  223. Putting the name Palin in a post will attract trolls like flies to well, you know.

    Mike K (2cf494)

  224. Give Tim McGarry some credit. He has gone to Boggioni’s site and written this:

Yesterday’s announcement probably means the end of Palin’s chances for higher office, which is certainly fine by me. If there were any justice, however, your vicious photoshop attack on her children would be the end of you as a blogger.

Palin deserves to be criticized for her backwards politics, her incoherence and a temperament poorly suited to the exercise of effective political leadership. But, as Barack Obama has admonished more than once, leave her children out of it. It’s not just that tactics like yours invite a very ugly kind of retribution — they are fundamentally wrong. If you can think back to your own childhood, or if you have children of your own, you should understand the emotional cruelty you stand to inflict.

And spare me the “humor” defense — leave that to Rusty DePass and his ilk.

As liberals, we should be better than this. Patterico and I agree on very little, but I share his harsh assessment of what you’ve perpetrated here.

Obviously I don’t agree with Tim’s assessment of Palin, but I admire his courage in going over there and letting Boggioni have it for that nasty photoshop. Tim’s about to find out what the leftist reaction will be to his principled stand . . .

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  225. Patterico:

I know that Tim McGarry doesn’t much like me, based on his prior posts, but I admire both his stand and his consistency on this issue. He has been opposed to sliming politicians’ children from Day One, without moderation on the basis of D versus R.

I think he will get dumped on, as you suggest. All the fake tough guys will descend on him.

Again, I don’t agree with any number of Mr. McGarry’s issues. But he has been consistent on this subject, and I applaud that, in a world of trolls and alphabetists.

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  226. He and I agree on nothing but he is a different type than the mindless trolls that so plague us here.

    Mike K (2cf494)

  227. I am not surprised that Tim would post that. I consider him a straight-up man who puts his money where his mouth is.

What people like Amused as Hell need to realize is, if they seriously (seriously being the operative word here) want to engage the right and challenge us to think further, deeper, broader or even re-consider our positions, then they need to bring something to the table other than juvenile hissy fits.

They need to learn how to think through a position, define it coherently, and present it without anger. Instead they just bring the hate.

Tim McGarry knows how to do the thinking, defining, and presentation in a reasonable manner. I like it when dives in here. I may not agree with them but he always makes me think.

Amused as Hell and MacKenna types, not at all. Instead, they unintentionally confirm that I am on the right side of right.

(Tim, I generally don’t speak about others but rather directly to them, it seems more polite, so if you pop in, this one is for you).

    Dana (8d88ef)

  228. Mike K,
Politics aside I think you would find a great deal you agree on. If you read his nonpolitical writing you would find a very good family man with values and beliefs any good man would be comfortable around. I have a good deal of respect for him, though our politics are very different.

    For what it’s worth.

    Machinist (95e752)

  229. Palin is the best anti-Dems have to offer. She really had no choice but to resign, given the numerous wishy-washy ethics complaints. On the other hand, her abdication suggests she would do the same if she was POTUS and things become too hot when global warming/economic catastrophies become common-place.

BTW, is Scotty Jacobs really gonna be a USMC kinda-guy? If so, I predict Gomer Pyle will knock his lights out the moment he begins to ramble-on with his know-it-all libertarian BS.

    Alwaysgeteven (996c34)

  230. MacKenna and amused/whatever other sock-puppets it has used are priceless. I love them. Their abject ignorance, aggressive dishonesty, projection, and childishness just illustrates their nature. So very clearly.

    JD (c8f5e6)

  231. Wow. It’s so easy to rile you guys up. Palin did this to herself by shamelessly pushing her kids out on stage at every possible moment. She’s a self-serving grifter, who would stop at nothing to get what she wanted. She is a base narcissist, and probably a sociopath as well. Remember her $150k wardrobe? She and Todd are pure class!

And to think that she thought (and a majority of republican voters, apparently) herself capable and worth of leading this country is beyond appalling. She’s an intellectual lightweight, of the same caliber as chimpy mcbush, totally lacking inquisitiveness and self reflection. She (and bush) is incapable of forming coherent sentences. She (like bush) speaks only in little mcnuggets of catch phrases, key words guaranteed to get a rise out of her captive, dim-witted audience. It’s actually pretty funny. But sad.

She used her children as props. I feel badly for them. I’m sure they aren’t happy about it, and I’m sure, as they get older, it will create a rift between them and dear old mom.

So, I’m anxiously awaiting the scandal that is coming down the pike. And I’m actually glad that whoever has the goods on this foul hag is withholding it for a while, leaving SARAH!!! to hang out there, twisting in the wind.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go make some popcorn and pour myself a nice drink.

    Enjoy!!

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  234. happybrowndog? First cousin of Sad Puppies??? Heh.

    Dana (8d88ef)

  235. The truly delicious part of this is that the wingnuts still haven’t gotten the message. When they busted Abramhoff, they ignored it. When they busted Larry Craig, they ignored it. When they busted Ensign, they ignored it. When they busted Mary-Mark Sanford, they ignored it.

When they bust Sarah ‘n Todd, no one will be ignoring it. That couple will be led from a courtroom in cuffs, crucifixes, and orange jumpsuits, and at that point the full glory of Republican evangelical Christianity will be on display for everyone to see.

The public will be transfixed by the scene. Ain’t it funny how the Lord works in such mysterious ways? I wonder if the Christian wingnuts will ever realize that even the god they worship as they lie, cheat, and steal their way through is puking at the very sight of them.

    Amused As Hell (66858c)

  236. Wow. It’s so easy to rile you guys up. Palin did this to herself by shamelessly pushing her kids out on stage at every possible moment.

She didn’t do that any more than Obama (or any other politician with children) did. Yet I would not sanction photoshopping Obama’s children to make them look evil.

It’s amazing how politics trumps basic human decency with so many people.

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  237. As liberals, we should be better than this.
Give him slack. After all, it’s difficult for people to be better than they really are, to be better than their real nature.

    New York Times:

The upshot is that Democrats, who speak passionately about the hungry and homeless, personally fork over less money to charity than Republicans…

    Mark (411533)

  238. They are getting pretty aggressive. It will get worse, of course, when Palin is sworn into the oval office. Yes, I’m half-kidding. But just imagine… wouldn’t that in fact be pretty satisfying?

No matter who the GOP’s frontrunner is, no matter how ethical they are and how nice their family is, tbogg, and sockpuppetting crazies are going to act like that person is worse than Hitler. Palin currently has more scrutiny than any other non-national politician in this nation’s history. She’s been sued by the democratic party 15 times and won. Her beautiful family has been slimed in the most awful ways.

But it’s not about Palin. It’s about the internet making it easy for this ugliness in America to scream. It’s built up into this avalanche of hate.

We need to get used to it. It’s going to keep going forever.

    Juan (86e69a)

  239. Oh, and I especially like the comments at 8 & 9, by happyfeet. Balloons? Hot dogs? Remote controlled boat thingers? Say what???

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  240. I heard some lady on the radio complaining about how Palin uses her kids as props. I just don’t understand the issue. a) politicians do this because we won’t elect politicians who don’t have families. b) this really is who Palin is. When she didn’t have her family around her on the campaign trail, she got pretty depressed. They had to fly the whole family out to get her back on her game.

Obama talks about his kids and it’s honestly comforting to me. As crazy as he seems, at least we share a connection to the future, and perhaps that means he at least intends to improve the future. I WANT to see his family in a positive way. Obama would be doing this nation a disservice not to show us how they are doing, from time to time.

Palin’s only real quirk is that she treats her down’s son like a normal loved perfect son. That really is something that all these caricatures like to emphasize. Somehow, that has made Palin some kind of super-duper-anti-abortion-evangelical. Whatever.

    Juan (86e69a)

  241. I liked comments 8 and 9. made a lot of sense to me, and certainly would to the Palin family.

    Juan (86e69a)

  242. When they busted Abramhoff, they ignored it. When they busted Larry Craig, they ignored it. When they busted Ensign, they ignored it. When they busted Mary-Mark Sanford, they ignored it.

When they busted Marion Barry, the Dems re-elected him. When they busted Alcee Hastings, the Dems elected him to Congress. When they busted Rezko, Dems made excuses for Obama. The list is almost endless….

BTW, Abramhoff donated to 45 Democrat Senators. An inconvenient truth, to be sure.

    Steverino (1b3695)

  243. Juan at #241
I’m in total agreement regarding any developmentally disabled child. They should be loved, cherished and respected just like any other child, and treated as ‘normal’, whatever that means.

    JD (7fb1a7)

  251. Please define “left-wing” and “right-wing” sites, and then we can proceed to give examples.

    For example,

    Left-wing sites:
    Daily Kos
    Huffinton Post
    FireDogLake

    etc.

    Right-wing sites:
    Michelle Malkin
    Little Green Footballs
    Patterico.com

    etc.

once we agree on the list of sites, then we can proceed to show that these sites delete comments, and even show what the preponderance of deletions is.

    Otherwise, it’s just gas.

    steve miller (722243)

  252. So I see over at Drudge that Maureen Dowd has written another column excoriating Sarah Palin. There is a lovely comparison photograph of the two women, which MAY help explain the vitriol.

Anyway, at one point Dowd says of Palin:

    “…”erratic and egoistic behavior”…”

And I believe we have today’s winner of the Projective Namecalling Competition™.

Because Ms. Dowd is an always carefully contemplative and humble writer.

At least when she isn’t plagiarizing other writers.

    Eric Blair (57b266)

  253. Eric and others, I thought you would enjoy this link:

    The Confluence

By their own admission, the authors of this blog are unapologetic, Hillary-fan, 2008-era PUMAs and proud liberal/feminist Democrats, so you’ll find lots to disagree with them about. BUT… in a refreshing change of attitude, they’ve done numerous threads taking other liberals, Democrats, and MSMers to task for trashing Palin and her family… and I just earlier today gave them my wholehearted thanks for that. Some of them have even gone so far as to say they’d vote for Palin, just to annoy the misogynists on their own side.

    qdpsteve (5eb540)

  254. Maureen Dowd reminds me of a scene in Parenthood where the old grandmother sees the Diane Weist character looking at the porno movies her son has brought home.

    “She needs a man !”

However, looking at the photos, I think Dowd had better settle for something with batteries. Extra strength batteries.

    Mike K (2cf494)

  255. Is brownnosedoggydowner another sockpuppet of Rick Ellers?

    Dmac (f7884d)

  256. I think Dowd had better settle for something with batteries. Extra strength batteries.

I think by now, Dowd’s way beyond that. Dr. K, remember the classic scene(s) with the engineer from Star Trek? “She’s at full power already sir! She’s as powered up as she’ll go!! I cannot turn up the power no more!!!”

    😉

  258. I wish Karl would give his take I keep checking back and nothing so far.

    happyfeet (e8d590)

  259. Yes, I said that by all appearances, SARAH!!!! Palin’s actions yesterday, her rambling, incoherent, paranoid, delusional natterings, are similar to those of a tweaker. But then again, most evangelical ‘conservative christian’ republicans exhibit similar characteristics (YAY Values Voters!!). Meth addled tweaker, conservative xtian republican; they share far more in common than you’d think. Trust me, I know. Most of my relatives are repubs, and either are active or reformed meth abusers.

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  260. “…are similar to those of a tweaker…”

Well, we will have to take your word for how tweakers act, based on your clear expertise. Is it anything like verbally hyperactive angry people who are overly aggressive while sitting safe at home, typing away while chuckling at their own supposedly brilliant wordplay?

But then, you are just a kid trying to stir things up. Go fold laundry until Mom calls you downstairs to help set the table.

    Eric Blair (57b266)

  261. “…Trust me, I know. Most of my relatives are repubs, and either are active or reformed meth abusers..”

Riiiggghhht. I guess you decided to move away from insulting the guy who runs this blog. Safer for you. Smart move.

    Eric Blair (57b266)

  262. …rambling, incoherent, paranoid, delusional natterings, are similar to those of a tweaker

That describes Obama, at least when he isn’t be programmed what to say with a teleprompter.

    liontooth (c6d5a7)

  263. Sarah Palin is classy, and has a conscience. Unlike so many Dems who think it is OK to kill an innocent child, but will fight tooth and nail to keep a killer (Tiller) free to roam and kill. What a bogus bunch of pukes! I think a lot of people are jealous of Sarah and isn’t a big enough person to admit it, so they try to drag her down to their level. Obama says “family is off limits” during the election. His family was, but Republican families weren’t. MSM at their finest. Katie Couric mentioned the cost of the clothes that Sarah wore during the campaign that were borrowed, but did anyone in the media mention that Katie wore clothes courtesy of certain designers and shops? Hypocrisy in action!!

    Madalyn (ca4c0e)

  264. Meth addled tweaker, conservative xtian republican moonbat atheist libtroll; they share far more in common than you’d think.

    Fixed that for ya, doggystyle.

  266. “Amused as hell”, you really are just making stuff up. You are the one ignoring actual Democratic corruption while falsely claiming that the Republicans accept the scandals you list.

Making stuff up seems to be your only tool of your toolbox.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  267. As one of my Aussie friends would say:
Pass the mustard, ’cause that stuff will kill a brown dog!

    AD - RtR/OS! (ad12dc)

  268. SPQR, I talk to my bassett hound but I don’t expect him to reply.

    Mike K (2cf494)

  269. Hey, Q. Hope you are doing well.

I don’t think this character, under any name, is jharp, or Levi Juhl. Possible, but unlikely. The bird dogs on site would have called him on it already.

Weird as it sounds, misery loves company. There are lots of JLE (jharp like entities) out there.

And that is why they post: to try to create more of the misery they feel. Why do you think we heard about anger at religious relatives and methamphetamine abuse?

That fury and resentment had not a thing to do with the Palin family. The problem is much, much closer to the troll in question.

I could be wrong. What do you think?

    Eric Blair (57b266)

  270. Mike K., just rolling my stone up the hill.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  271. Everyone loves to mention Palins clothes, how about Michelles $500 ugly Lanvin sneakers!!!! $500 sneakers! They keep saying michelles so fashionable, haven’t seen it yet, but we better believe it if the stepford media says it.

    Melvin (8680e2)

  272. Melvin – The Dallas Cowboys keep calling Michelle to try out, but I don’t know what that’s all about. It could just be a PR stunt.

    daleyrocks (718861)

  273. Truth be told, today is my first time to visit this little blog. I had to post, as I couldn’t pass up the chance to interact with such stellar minds. According to what I’m seeing here, Palin’s the second coming of jeebus. She’s going to lead the tribe out of the desert. She’s jus’ regular folks (You Betcha!!). Obama’s bad because he’s: a socialist, secret muslim, articulate, non-citizen, satan, or whatever your oracles rush pusball or hannity or coultergeist or orally or beck (beck!!!) tells you people to believe that day. Well folks, do you realize the bullet we dodged back in November? If that cranky old man and Caribou Barbie had been sworn in, we’d continue to be universally scorned and despised. For the past 8 years, whenever I’d travel out of the country, the open hostility displayed towards citizens of the U.S.A. was palpable. I would claim to be Canadian. Now, we’re not despised. It’s like adults are finally back in charge (although I do have major problems with Rham, the worthless Harry Reid, Pelosi, lieberman, and several other corporate whores).

Bush was an unmitigated disaster. He’s still an illiterate alcoholic who speaks directly with jeebus. The man’s a chronic failure, has never done anything on his own, and always relied on his family’s name and connections. If he was born with a different last name, to some nobody family, he’d be lucky to work at walmart. Cheney and the other sadistic neocon psychos did a really good job of hoodwinking the rubes with the whole terrorist thing, in order to carry out their agenda (see Halliburton, Blackwater, KBR, Parsons, exxonmobilshellchevronbp).

It seems that republicans need/want a daddy figure to protect them, tell them what to think, etc. To basically do the heavy lifting, spewing empty platitudes and catch phrases which for some reason comfort you (with us or against us, dead or alive, war on terror, 1000 points of light, shining city on a hill, etc etc etc).

Anyway, good luck with St. Sarah and Todd. Maybe you guys can run her with Michele Bachman or Bobby Jindal! I smell success!!!

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  274. Oh, and before anyone starts to question my patriotism, my boyfriend is a USMC Sergeant who’s done 4 tours in Iraq, seen 16 of his buddies killed (for what exactly?), and is being shipped off to Afghanistan in November. He’s emotionally damaged, cries a lot, and has frequent nightmares and panic attacks. He’s been through hell, as have all of our service members. The reality’s starting to sink in that they were used and exploited for Cheney and Bushs’ corporate war. It was all based on a pack of lies, and the carnage is very real. Anyone who supported those monsters is complicit in murder and global mayhem.

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  275. Lying about that kind of thing will earn you some darned bad kharma.

    Eric Blair (838009)

  276. Happybitch:

Is it that time of the month? Did your girlfriend leave you for a man?

Hae you tried anger management? Better yet have you asked yourself why you are so hate filled?

Didn’t your daddy love you? Did you know who your daddy was?

    Thomas Jackson (8ffd46)

  277. happybrowndog – What a pile of outdated debunked lefty talking points! Bring a better game next time.

Your unqualified empty suit president campaigned exclusively on plaitudes – Hope and change, We are the ones we have been waiting for, etc. etc.

Now he is bankrupting the country is some utopian social engineering plot instead of focusing on what needs to be done.

If your boyfriend has actually done what you say, that means he has voluntarily reenlisted with his eyes wide open, so go fuck yourself on the guilt trip. I appreciate his service.

Why don’t you move to another country if you hate this one so much?

    daleyrocks (718861)

  278. Thomas – I think the boyfriend wanted to get back out of the country and serve a few more more tours to get away from the mangy brown dog. I know I would. What a dipshit.

    daleyrocks (718861)

  279. happybrowndog,

    I appreciate your boyfriend’s service.

Why is it Bush’s fault that Obama is sending him to Afghanistan?

    DRJ (cdbef5)

Sorry, I call bullshit. If he was truly displaying this type of behavior, it would most definitely come out in the vicinity of the battlefield, wherein he would have been pulled and referred for therapy (as he should be).

But by all means, keep going down that Pandagon-approved road claiming that the USMC are all a bunch of racist, sexist, hateful men who can’t wait to see your precious, sensitive, “enlightened” boyfriend get killed. That’ll make you even more popular here.

    qdpsteve (5eb540)

  281. I think her boyfriend might be revolunteering for tours and not telling her

    happyfeet (e8d590)

  282. Eric Blair @ 277
What am I lying about? The fact that my boyfriend is USMC? No lie.
He’s 24, has been in for 6 years, and is re-upping for 4 more. And I guarantee he’s way tougher than you. Oh, he also happens to be gay.

    Thomas Jackson @ 278
Yes, my dad loved me. He passed away xmas day of 2007. I miss him. Thanks for asking.

As to anger, yeah, I have some. I’m angry that our country was hijacked by a cabal of corporatists (otherwise known as fascists), who killed and maimed tens of thousands of young men and women, most of them just kids. Not to mention hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians, and basically destroyed their country. And all so a handful of old rich impotent men could get richer. And our country was bankrupted in the process. That should make any sentient person angry. If you’re not angry over that, either you’re as dumb as a bag of rocks, or a sociopath.

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  283. oh. *his* boyfriend I meant. Sorry.

    happyfeet (e8d590)

  284. you really have to be on your toes around here

    happyfeet (e8d590)

  285. Right, happybrowndog. You betcha! So many appeals to ultimate moral authority, wrapped up in one person. Mark Twain wrote something about this kind of thing, long ago.

Hey Stashiu3, how many years in a tour?

Tell you what, happybrowntroll with anger issues. If your boyfriend is as damaged and messed up as you claim, why are you wasting any time here? You should be working with your local VA hospital and support groups.

That is why I don’t believe you. If you are telling the truth, you wouldn’t be toilet film. And you wouldn’t waste a nanosecond playing snarky games here, given the gravity of the situation you describe. But if you are lying, as I suspect, kharma awaits. And it’ll be rough indeed.

Again: if you are lying, you should be ashamed. And if you are telling the truth, log off now and go help the people you claim to care about, instead of acting like an immature little snot.

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  286. Don’t feel bad, happyfeet. It was an honest mistake. However, it’s true, there are lots of gay Marines (and Navy, Army, Airforce, Nat. Guard, Coast Guard). And as far as I’ve been able to tell, they all serve with honor and integrity. But they have to live in the closet, which really sucks. Hopefully that will change soon.

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  287. “As to anger, yeah, I have some.”

    Classic example of minimization.

    Do you read TRex?

    daleyrocks (718861)

  288. Eric @ 287
    What is toilet film?

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  289. I love it when I see the word “corpratist,” too. It usually means a real whack-a-doodle fresh from indocrination on campus who doesn’t know anything about the real world has arrived.

O’m wondering whether corpratist is close to Obama owning car ompanies and banks or whether than is closer to socialism.

    daleyrocks (718861)

  290. I’ve never thought gay people what weren’t likely to make a contribution to the military would be very likely to bother applying for the military. They went in knowing what the deal was and that’s just how the gays in the military cookie crumbles. Someday it might could crumble differently, but gay people what aren’t likely to make a contribution to the military will still be very unlikely to bother applying for the military I think.

    happyfeet (e8d590)

  291. People who claim the things you have claimed, when they aren’t true.

It’s really simple. If what you wrote is true, you should not waste another second here. Especially given all your boiler plate talking points and bile. You should be helping soldiers in crisis, like the crisis from which you claim your boyfriend suffers.

And if what you wrote is a lie (a series of lies), they you are indeed toilet film.

Only you know the truth. But either way, you shouldn’t be posting here—given the story you claim to be true.

Unless, well, you are something of a sociopath, as you have tried to paint others.

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  292. it was very boilerplatey but after all of us being inundated with it for so long it would take a bit of an effort to break out of the script and find an original emotive ohnoes my boyfriend is trapped in an illegal immoral war voice I would think

    happyfeet (e8d590)

  293. EB,

It’s possible to sign for six years during the first tour. Of course, happybrowndog speaking for all service members is more than a bit presumptuous. Yes, there are gays in every service and almost all serve honorably, largely accepted by their peers (even though it’s usually not discussed so nobody gets in trouble). Almost everything else happybrowndog has been a lie, debunked talking point, or delusion.

    happybrowndog,

First day here, eh? Came with an open mind I see. No preconceived notions about conservatives or this blog? Yet, you think you’ve got us pegged and we’re all warmongering, fascist idiots duped by the GOP. Well, let me tell you something happybrowndog… if any single thing you’ve said is absolutely true, it’s that you’re angry. I wouldn’t bet a nickel on anything else because you are clearly deranged. Anyone talking about “hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians” should be immediately dismissed because that’s completely debunked BS. Every other point you’ve tried to insert is equally bogus. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re not some variation of truther as well.

You don’t know us. You don’t understand us. You’re never going to. That’s a feature, not a bug to you. To us, you’re sport… and not very original at that. So go back to DU or DKos, wherever you crawled from, crow about how thoroughly you schooled us (we won’t be going there to deny it), and let the adults finish their conversation in peace.

    Stashiu3 (3fc50f)

  294. When posting gets this stupid, what’s the point in posting anymore?

And I know, as well as everyone else, that you’re not happyfeet.

I’ve been trying to get my BF into counseling. Even offered to pay. It takes time. Trying to get him to start meditating again, biking, etc. It’s frustrating.

Anyway, good luck with the whole Palin thing. I’m sure she’ll work out great.

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  296. My lesbian lover hates it when I try to be a man, because gender roles really are so archaic.

I wish I could make him/her happy, but all I have is the desire to make the people pay for the uber-lord regime of the Stalinistic rule of Chimpy McHitlerHalliburtonBush.

No one should be spared until we finally eradicate the Christianist-Zionist conspiracy into the dust and finally realize the ultimate utopia that the fuhrer, I mean the supreme leader, demands.

    Good night, sir!

    Ag80 (3acbfd)

  297. I’m never not happyfeet. Never ever. We were just doing a tangent on the gays in the military thing. Mr. Patterico is pro and so am I, at least when it comes up, and so when it comes up and you are pro you should say so I think. Otherwise people make assumptions and perceptions remain unchanged.

Y’all are still super-mad about the whole Palin thing, huh? That was like a whole other thread.

  302. Obama’s the president who refuses to change DADT… a Democrat policy from its inception.

Obama’s the president sending soldiers where he wants them.

Obama’s the one who tried to deny injured vets their health care.

Obama’s the one bankrupting the country (his deficit is actually a greater sheer increase than all other presidents combined).

But Bush gets blamed for all of these problems.

    Juan (9afb54)

  303. happydogfeet, your boyfriend, if he exists, is going to get someone killed. You are responsible for that when it happens. Call someone in his chain of command and report the problem. I had a friend commit suicide when I was in the military at Ft. Sill. His wife knew he was having these problems. I did not. She didn’t tell me or anyone else, and we let her know that his death was preventable. I still have a hard time forgiving that.

Soldiers need support. It’s so easy to say you support the troops and use that as a political bludgeon. I see it used here is a vapid and meaningless way. But when you’re done using someone else’s service as a tool to try to win arguments in an absurd way, you need to actually pay attention to what that troop needs. If it’s psychological help, you had better do the right thing and pick up the phone. That marine is not deployable. I’ll say a prayer that he’s blessed with someone who actually cares about him.

    Juan (9afb54)

  304. happybrowndog is the guy what has the boyfriend going to Afghanistan to kill terrorist peoples. happyfeet is the guy what has turtles and enjoys writing about consumer packaged goods and taking a very oppositional attitude against dirty socialisms.

    This is not hard.

    happyfeet (e8d590)

  305. Juan
Don’t presume to know what I’ve been doing to get him help. It’s a very delicate situation. I’ve got others involved as well.

Maybe a good place to start showing support for our troops is to not let them be used as expendable cogs for a totally unnecessary, immoral and evil war against a non-existent enemy in Iraq. Where did you stand on that? I’m sure you were busy waving your little flag, shouting USA # 1!!! as the missiles and bombs were flying. The neocons sure didn’t have a hard time selling you and your fellow travelers that bill of goods, did they? So no, you (and every other person here who supported cheney’s war), have blood on your hands. Vile.

  308. How can we miss you if you don’t go away? After all, you have posted several times you were leaving (#297 and #300).

Juan is correct. If you are telling the truth, you MUST drop a dime on your boyfriend, to protect him and other soldiers.

Again, think about the precious time you are wasting here, instead of helping servicemen and servicewomen. Including your boyfriend.

Unless you are just making it all up. In which case all your troll-postings and talking points make sense. And are childish and despicable. So I hope that you are telling the truth.

So, please, go help your boyfriend.

And Juan? You know the truth here, with this one. TdJ.

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  309. We can’t miss you if you don’t leave happybrowndog.

Once our troops start being used as expendable cogs for a totally unnecessary, immoral and evil war against a non-existent enemy anywhere, we’ll be against it. President Obama will definitely hear from us if he tries to send troops to Honduras to stage a coup there. Now, if you’re trying to imply the chickenhawk slur, that’s a 15-yard penalty and loss of down. Interesting that you have the “Cheney-variation” of BDS… tell us, are you a truther? Was the U.S. government involved in conducting the 9/11 attacks?

You’ve made presumptions since you got here, all without merit. If you really wanted to dialogue, you wouldn’t act so nasty from the very beginning and you would have been welcomed.

As far as your Marine goes (and as has been speculated already, I doubt he exists), getting help is straightforward. We saw Marines and Navy all the time without any consequence to their career. You’re either incompetent or don’t care about him if he still needs help (see what I did there? Gave you a false choice when there are actually other possible answers. Not fun, is it?) Any harm he does to himself or anybody else could be prevented if you only cared enough to help him. (wow, your style of rhetoric is getting pretty easy.)

    Stashiu3 (3fc50f)

  310. It’s both sad and amusing to watch Tim try to reason with the cheerleaders at Boggioni’s cesspool. Tim makes the eminently sensible argument that children are innocent and should not be held up to ridicule. For his pains, he gets mocked by people who don’t believe he’s a true leftist.

Just goes to show you that there are good and bad people on both sides of the political spectrum. I’ve seen righties advocating holding Obama’s children up to ridicule here, and Tim the lefty fighting that attitude at Boggioni’s. Don’t ever assume everyone on your side is pure and everyone on the other side is soulless. It’s that sort of attitude that leads people to harass and mock children.

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  311. Part of it is the weird “tough guy” attitude in political debate. Of course, not a single one of these tough guys would actually say anything like this in front of the people involved.

    Keyboard Kommandos.

Can you imagine Letterman, for example, telling his “jokes” in front of Todd Palin? Probably that would work better for the man than the jokes being told in front of Sarah Palin.

And it is always wrong to slag someone’s children. Past 18, if you want to, I guess that is understandable. They are eligible to vote and serve in the Armed Forces by then. But under 18…leave ’em be.

That isn’t politics. It’s common decency.

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  312. And, to repeat myself, I am genuinely sorry that Tim M. has to discover that “wing” of his party.

So much for diversity of opinion. A warning for us all, maybe.

    Eric Blair (acade1)

  313. The fact that my boyfriend is USMC?…. Oh, he also happens to be gay.

So you’re both homosexual and leftwing?! That’s quite surprising and unusual.

Oh, brother. One of those “lefties” who undoubtedly is more disturbed by and angry towards the US, George Bush and capitalism than Sadaam Hussein, his cabal of henchmen and Third-World self-destructiveness and indolence. Now that’s fine and all, but please don’t believe your response is rooted in an ideology predicated on compassion and humaneness. It ain’t.

And our country was bankrupted in the process.

Since when the hell do most liberals give a damn about the public sector implementing policies and practices that lead to bankruptcy? Or, most importantly, at least a government that doesn’t also have tax rates that are as sky high as its expenditures—eg, what a large majority of legislators in Sacramento — in true-blue, uber-blue California — is itching, itching, itching to do.

    Mark (411533)

  314. Palin has denied being under federal investigation or indictment, so we’ll have to wait and see on that front. In the meantime, we can ponder the cowardice that led her to quit her job halfway through.

  315. Amusing little beeyotch – Not only did Palin deny in, the FBI stated in no uncertain terms that they were not doing so. We await your apology and retraction.

    Tim McGarry (9fe080)

  319. jd @ 317

How have I lied? Everything I’ve stated is factual. Cheney is a murderous scumbag, bush was/is an incompetent drunken coke head who talks to jeebus and had delusions of grandeur, Palin is a pathological liar, grifter, and borderline illiterate. It seems that most of your heros are people who disdain knowledge and academic accomplishment (see the creationists, climate change deniers, etc), and Palin is probably one of the more ignorant ones to come along in a long while. She dazzled the true believers with her corn pone shtick (you betcha!), and her creepy winks. But, since she’s quitting (she’s a quitter!!!!), who’s now going to keep an eye on Putin when he raises his head up and comes into our airspace? Seriously, Palin? She’s a total fraud, recruited and marketed by Billy Kristol (who’s NEVER EVER been wrong, has he?), to help polish the turd that was McCain. Funny how that all worked out. I’m sure it will get even funnier the next few weeks as the Palin circus spins out of control.

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  320. happybrowndog, doubling down on your stupidity is not impressive. I’m always amused by people like yourself who have such strong opinions – each and every one of which is based upon complete falsehoods – which you insist upon no matter how far from reality you are.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  321. Happybrowndog,

I know a great deal about military personnel matters, and I know, for a fact, that you have not gone to this man’s commander to tell him about this problem.

I can make that presumption because I know that marines with mental problems get help all the time, and no USMC CO is going to skip that crucial leadership aspect. Hell, even if one did, you could always go up the chain.

Like I said, this ‘I love a vet’ is a bludgeon you are using to win your political arguments in an absurd way. You are USING your boyfriend, but you aren’t helping him, and I hold YOU responsible for his problems. Because YOU ARE responsible.

    Juan (337c64)

  322. Tim McGarry – Good on you. As you well know, you and I rarely agree on even the time of day, but you were principled and honorable in this. Unlike your fellow travelers. mangybrowndog – See comment 321 for all the evidence you need of your perfidy. Add to that the most dishonest and dishnorable practice of trying to wrap yourself in an imaginary person’s service, and the attendant identity politics and appeal to moral authority booha you tossed in there, and calling you anything short of dishonest and a liar is an understatement of the greatest magnitude.

    JD (69c78a)

  323. Juan – Only problem is that the person mangybrowndog speaks of exists only in its imagination. A very vivid imagination.

    JD (502664)

  324. I am proud to have supported the war, effort, btw. I take responsibility for supporting a war that killed thousands and freed tens of millions.

I also realize that, with the breed of evil in Iraq and Afghanistan, this war was going to occur at some point.

Whining about neocons doesn’t mean anything to me. I am a neocon! I’m a hybrid of modern values, some liberal and some conservative. That’s all a neocon is.

    Juan (337c64)

  325. Juan – When things like that scream NEOCON, they rarely know what they are actually saying, they have no idea what a NEOCON is, and typically just like to blame the JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS.

That gives it away. IF you wanted to prove your patriotism YOU would volunteer. I’d like to see you try to make it through basic, let alone the the crucible.

What you are is an example of the crappy judgement your boyfriend (imaginary as he is) has in boy/girl friends.

    Mike K (2cf494)

  331. Actually, the far more telling aspect of what is behind their “progressivism” was best described by a columnist for the New York Times (a liberal, btw,). And, so I’m hauling this out once again because I think it speaks volumes about “progressives.”

Liberals believe that the United States executes too many people.

Progressives are certain Stalin did not execute enough people.

  333. AAH – Do you have a gay boyfriend in the marines too? Just askin’.

    nk (e98769)

  337. No, there is a Marine. I’ve been seeing him since February. His commanders know his issues, yet he’s still in charge of monitoring other Marines, those who are actively displaying suicidal tendencies. They’ve already had their weapons taken away. He’s got classic PTSD. Most of the Iraqi vets I know do. They’re becoming aware that they were used and exploited and killed and maimed for no good cause. Afghanistan, yes. The Taliban is absolutely a group that needs to be smashed and eradicated. Iraq, no. It’s an abject failure, and created a whole new army of people who hate us. But I thought we were talking about Palin? She’s the Gooper’s pin-up girl, after all.

    happybrowndog (affdec)

  338. IMO, happydog’s Marine b/f is nonexistent. His story makes no sense. Even if the story were true, it would not have been told, even anonymously. This troll knows nothing about Marine Pride.

This is spoken as a military wife and mother of three kids who served in the military.

    PatAZ (9d1bb3)

  339. Liberals believe that the United States executes too many people.

I’ve come to realize the most pathetic, if not also most frightening and disgusting, aspect of far too many of those on the left is their belief they’re somehow more enlightened and humane than the average person or certainly their political opposites. That and their tendency to transpose the good and bad in people and situations.

Nothing more unreliable and even dangerous and destructive than people who see themselves as so very compassionate and civilized also having a tendency to perceive good humans and good situations as being bad, and bad humans and bad situations as being good.

And when such folks of the left are given the authority to make crucial decisions and policies, yikes, watch out!

crappy judgement your boyfriend (imaginary as he is)

If he is fictional, then what does it say about the person making up such a person that he describes that imaginary character as gay? But perhaps it’s good the creator of a possibly fake “main squeeze” at least is honest about one aspect of himself.

Then again, we live in an age of “do your own thang, baby,” and “let it all hang out!” Mark Sanford is a very good recent example of how common that attitude has become. Sort of a rightist version of shameless and flaky Bill Clinton.

Beyond that, it would be interesting to do a study on whether homosexuality makes a person far more prone to poor judgment and bad decisionmaking. I know surveys indicate at least 80% of such people are of the left, and when much of the balance (perhaps 15%?) may be somewhat similar to an Andrew Sullivan, that may indicate innately impaired judgment.

ABC radio commentator Al Rantel, who is gay and generally rightwing, mentioned on election night last November that he happily or nonchalantly voted for ultra-leftwing Barack Obama.

Again, sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular — certainly in the case of the male (homo, hetero or bi) who’s sometimes mocked for having his penis where his brain is — appears to impact the judgment (and often negatively too) of various people on any number of occasions.

    Mark (411533)

  340. Thank you, PatAZ.

I know a little bit about the military too. My father’s oldest brother was saluted by German troops standing on parade, as their prisoner, for fighting them so gallantly in the Balkans. My father was in mechanized mountain troops. His next youngest brother was infantry mountain troops. The brother after was Presidential honor guard.

Now how could you have a boyfriend if you are a lesbo? Worse is writing such trash since you’re obviously off your meds.

By the way what is your boyfriends MOS and what units was he assigned too?

Any bets on any response from the rabid cur?

  343. His commanders know his issues, yet he’s still in charge of monitoring other Marines, those who are actively displaying suicidal tendencies. They’ve already had their weapons taken away. He’s got classic PTSD. Most of the Iraqi vets I know do.

This does not track with anyone’s experience with the military. In fact, it is quite the opposite of what the military would allow.

  344. Paterico:

    Dear Sir:

With all due respect do you believe that the Left is composed of basically descent people who wouldn’t dream of reducing their opponents into ugly stereo types and wish to play fair?

I don’t believe anyone would characterize all members of the Left as beasts but if you had to generalize them would they be closer to members of your church or the denizens of the Kos Kiddies? Lets define this as activitists not the guy who goes out to the polls at each election.

I ask this because at 12pm today on Fox some troll named Liz Trotter carried out the basest form of character assassination I have ever seen, unchallenged or contested by the fair and balanced network. It was something that Obermann would have envied.

I would also observe that President Bush acted with grace and dignity during his term. In return he was constantly attack in the vilest form, his family insulted, death threats made, and the worst innuendoes and rumors spread. I wonder if you’d tell us what degree of success the rsponsible, descent members of the Left had in restraining these attacks.

As a follow on, would you expect the next Republican president to suffer the same sort of degenerate outrages even if he behaves with grace and dignity?

    Thanking you in advance.

  345. Ugly Doggie repeats the same tired meme of the crazed war veteran who, upon coming home from active duty, turns immediately into a crazed killbot. Wonder if she’s talked to our new head of the Dep’t of Homeland Security about this dire threat – they have a lot in common.

  346. I spent the Fourth of July at a BBQ with my neighbors, both of whom are Iraq war veterans. This dog needs a swift kick in the backside.

  347. Semanticleo was making a similar BS moral authority argument ’round here and PW, about the same time it was claiming to be suffering from PRE-traumatic stress disorder.

  348. My boyfriend’s a SGT. Infantry, Delta Force. No more information is needed for you. However, I thought we were talking about Palin. I see no one’s bothered to refute any of my observations of her being a two-bit fraud and grifter. But then again, most of your ‘heroes’ are, like lil’ bush, cheney, rummy, limpballs, and that joke reagan.
Have fun in the wilderness. What we’re witnessing here is the implosion of the repub party. The sell-by date has come and gone!
Now it’s just a group of racist, homophobic, xenophobic sad little people. Have fun! I’m off to enjoy a beautiful Sunday.

You just proved yourself a liar. Delta Force is composed of Army soldiers. Also, screening and monitoring for Delta Force would have bounced him long ago. Begone liar.

  350. Mangy Dog – You said your boyfriend was a Marine. Isn’t Delta Force Army?

    daleyrocks (718861)

  351. My boyfriend is a Starship Trooper. His name is Rico. He has this supercool prosthetic armor that is supercooled. Nyah, nyah, nyah.

  352. Wow, happybrowndog came on here and made up an imaginary Marine/Army boyfriend. Wow.

    Now that’s good credibility!

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  353. It’s disappointing to learn that Mangy Dog is just another lying progressive seminar commenter. Why are there some many dishonest, angry, progressive gay commenters on the intartubes? Is it a lifestyle thing? I mean aphrael seems happy and honest and we discuss thing rationally here. He’s in a stable relationship. Maybe that makes a difference. Errorstein is in a stable relationship rhough and he’s off the charts with anger. Who knows.

  354. came on here and made up an imaginary Marine/Army boyfriend.

    Sheesh. LOL.

Moreover, even in super liberal, super libertine Hollywood — and even in today’s generally permissive, oh-so-tolerant, shock-proof culture — actors who are involved in homosexuality are known to conceal their behavior. That means the guy with the imaginary BF must be so oddly leftwing, that he’s weirdly candid on one hand, yet also strangely dishonest on the other. IOW, he’s certifiable.

  355. I called it. Toilet film. Think about the kind of person who would make such claims. Not even smart claims!

    Eric Blair (194d2e)

  356. Where did happybrownstool go? He was making such good points! Right up until he was revealed to be a shameless liar!

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  357. But not until it tossed out racist xenophobic homophobes !!! Well played.

  358. […] Me, I have no idea what Palin’s doing, and I’m content to watch it all unfold without expressing much of an opinion. I rather doubt there’s some major scandal in the works. And I understand and share the anger that comes from watching cretins like Tom Boggioni take cheap shots at Palin’s children. […]
