Another Twitter Victim: Patterico

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 11:20 pm

OK, Allahpundit is now on Twitter. I feel have no choice: I have to join as well. (Actually, I joined a while back just to keep others from poaching my name. Now I’m going to start posting.)

I don’t really understand what the point is, but if you do, you can follow me here.

  1. You’ve got three followers so far! (I was the second, after Andrew Breitbart).

  2. That is so bizarre. I held out of Twitter until Sunday — then during the Oscars, some pals and I joined.

I hope someone posts stats on how many people joined Twitter on the 22nd. I bet you anything there is a noticeable spike. Not that that’s why you joined, I’m sure.

Incidentally, I am “following” you — what a creepy, cultic phrase.

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  3. It already takes too much time just to read the blogs I like. Now I’m supposed to visit a person’s blog and “follow” him on Twitter? What’s next, a one-word GruntTM service for content that’s too superficial for Twitter?

The line must be drawn here. I’ll keep checking your blog every day, but no tweets for me.

  4. I can’t wait until we can track the stream from the chip implanted in your head.

  5. Twitter’s virtue lies in being succinct: 140 characters to say what the person is doing. If the person has made a lengthy blog post, the twitterer can give the link via Tinyurl.

  6. Wonder if anyone has yet taken the name “I-am-Allah” for their nom du Twitter?

  7. I noticed that P pointed to the example of Justice Scalia as to what could happen if you allow someone to poach your name. For those who follow the insufferable sportswriter Rick Reilly, check out this great parody. It is so well done, that it takes awhile to realize that it is fake.

  8. I joined a while ago and never use it. Don’t get the point, can’t see why anybody would bother. But I joined anyway ’cause all the cool kids are doing it.

  9. tim, I work hard to not be cool.
