More on the Plane Crash Near Buffalo
That crash may have been caused by ice buildup on the wings.

The video appears to be genuine; near the end of the footage you can see the house next door, which is also viewable in this Google Maps street view image of the location:
In a tragic footnote to the story, one of the victims was a 9/11 widow who was on her way to Buffalo to celebrate what would have been her husband’s 58th birthday.
She often cried when she told how Sean, her high school sweetheart, telephoned her on the morning of the attacks, said he loved her. A loud explosion then silence ended the call.
The ripple effects of 9/11 continue to be felt; but for what happened that day, Beverly Eckert would probably still be alive today.
She once remembered her husband in this way:

The evening sky has deepened into darkness on a soft summer night. He is sitting on the stone step near the kitchen door, watching the fireflies rise in the backyard over the newly mowed lawn. Friends are expected for dinner. A steak is on the grill, a glass of wine is in his hand and his wife is at his side. They are laughing. He is content.
It’s a lovely image. One hopes that there is an afterlife, and that they are now together in it. He would, once again, be content.
May their family find strength and peace.

She regrettably made common cause with obnoxious groups like the 9/11 Truthers. I mention this only to point out that had this happened one month ago there would no doubt be rampant speculation among the rabid left that the evil Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Haliburton axis had conspired to have the plane crash in order to silence her. In fact, I expect that we will hear of it anyway.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist, I have not gone that far I guess in my analysis of the situation. I know that incompetence can be very great.
The lady clearly had different politics than a lot of us here; she didn’t support the war in Afghanistan; she was critical of the Bush administration for (in her view) allowing 9/11 to happen, and so forth. But she doesn’t appear to have been a Truther; just someone who reacted to a tragic situation in her own way.
That’s probably the last we should say about that, at least for now. I just want to note that the evidence does not indicate that she was a Truther or believed in radical conspiracy theories. Regardless of her politics, it appears she loved her husband very much, and he loved her. I hope they’re together now.

This is the bittersweet of a deep abiding love. I like to believe that her husband patiently waited her arrival and that they now hold one another again in that same contented peace and familiarity they knew in this life. Only better.
Dana (137151) — 2/13/2009 @ 7:50 pmThis incident reminds me of a similar one involving an American turboprop that went down from it’s flight from Indy to Chicago back in December of ’98. Icing on the wings was the primary cause of that crash as well. I vowed never to take another prop during the winter months again for business travel, and American shortly afterward took all of their props out of O’Hare – permanently. I wonder why any of these types of aircraft are still operating in Northern climes during the winter; their de – icing capabilities are still vastly underpar compared with their jet – winged counterparts. Seems like this could have been a preventable error, which just makes it all the more hideous.

those behind 9-11 do not distinguish between demo & repub. their goal with 9-11 and the other incidents is to make a false pretext to take away our rights and implement a world dictatorship.
in any given day there are 30,000 commercial flights, among the 87,000 flights in US airspace. what are the odds that this poor lady’s plane would go down. it is like lottery ticket odds. too much to be a coincidence. i’m sorry, we have no clear evidence, but statistically it is more likely she was murdered and those other folks died along with her as collateral damage.
