Greg Packer Again

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 9:04 pm

JammieWearingFool catches the latest Greg Packer sighting. This time it’s the New York Post:

One devoted Torre fan, 45-year-old self-proclaimed retiree Greg Packer of Huntington, even stood in freezing temperatures from 3:30 a.m. on to get the first spot for the afternoon signing – and that was after standing in a long line the day before at a Midtown bookstore to get Torre’s signature, too.

“It was worth it,” Packer said. “I wish he was still the [Yankees] manager. With the talent we have on this team now, we’d be guaranteed to get to the World Series with Torre in charge.”

I love this guy. His indomitable spirit and need to be quoted serves as an inspiration to us all.

  1. He is a fan of how many different teams?

He’s sort of like sleepy (assuming I have my facts right) coming back to this site after at least three bannings to dump all over Israel yet again. Let no voice be silenced.

  3. So what exactly do you have against this guy? I would figure he has a somewhat familiar face factor working for him. “I think I’ve seen that guy before, maybe he has something interesting to say.”

So long as he actually exists, unlike that fake movie reviewer that caused some trouble for Sony I think.

  4. So what exactly do you have against this guy?

Not so much against him, but against the lazy “journalists” who never seem to realize they’re being played.

  5. I’d love to see Patterico interview this guy if/when he has the time. There were some good questions on that “ask Packer your question” post a little while back.

  6. I am of the opinion that Packer really works for all these newspapers and when a reporter needs a quote, they look over at the desk next to them and say “hey Greg, you got anything to say about this?”

  7. When I saw this article in the paper, I was about to sent it, but got too busy at work. Glad another Greg Packer siting was picked up. I wonder if he’s going to become like Elvis someday and be seen even when he’s no longer around.

Imagine if a reporter actually did some homework and researched their quotes before claiming background remarks (a life long Yankee fan) as fact. Then again, we wouldn’t have any quotes during a presidential election anymore from independent people who work for the DNC. Can’t have that now, can we?
