Gwen Ifill, MSM feast on Obama cookies

You may recall that PBS’s Gwen Ifill, the moderator of the Vice-Presidential debate, just coincidentally wrote a book titled “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama,” which just coincidentally was published on Inauguration Day.  When the news became widely known, plenty of Ifill’s colleagues in the media seemed determined to ignore the ethical questions these coincidences raised.

After all, anyone in the Beltway establishment media who seriously considered those questions might not have been invited to the launch party.  Click through for the pictures of the Obama cookies served to the David Broders and Jim Lehrers beneath Shepard Fairey “Be The Change” Obama propaganda posters.  No word on what drinks were served, aside from the standard-issue Kool-Aid.

  1. Is “The Breakthrough” the fact that, now, instead of coming up occasionally as an issue, race is now a factor in every political discussion, nonstop?

    Thanks, Gwen.

  2. Did anyone attempt to watch the orgy on PBS yesterday? I tried, but gave up after the circle jerk continued into infinity. Brooks was at his weeniness during his segments with the 1,000 – year old Velociraptor Shields. And of course, we had many LIVE AND ON THE SCENE segments with I – don’t – know – how – to – ask – a – relevant – question – on – my – weekly – news – show Ifill. Your tax dollars at work – gosh, no doubt the new administration will spend all that TARP money wisely.

  3. Dmac – I watched MSNBC for a bit yesterday afternoon, right up until the point where Al Roker had an Obamagasm on live television during the parade. I puked, and threw a shoe at my new plasma. Never fear … Baracky will fix it.

  4. I have nothing against Gwen being for Obama. I have a problem when she got snooty about being called on an obvious bias.

  5. I heard the local NPR and Pacifica stations this morning. Jesus, did you know he came back yesterday. In his Atavar form of Barack Obama.

  6. Somehow I knew that JD would be the first one to throw a shoe at Obama.

  7. Cracked the casing on my plasma. That public knob-job that the MSM gave Teh One the last week (I know, since 2004 really) was the breaking point for me. Let’s see if he can deliver. So far, all I really expect is that he will raise my taxes.

  8. No one in the media seems to care about this. If Fox News had moderated a debate, and the moderator had held a party with Mccain cookies, they would be shrieking in anger.

Instead, democrats refuse to debate anything on Fox News, and Mccain put Palin on with this obviously monetarily and politically biased moderator.

You get treated as badly as you let yourself get treated.

  9. Throwing a shoe at President Bush is an act of great courage, but it is likely racist to chuck a shoe at an image of President Obama.

  10. Joe, that is not only bigoted, but also homophobic.

  11. I hear that Sully threw a glute at Obama

Juan Williams in today’s WSJ cautions that we should judge the POTUS on his performance, and not the extraneous manifestations of his office and personality.
Well, that denies us of the Right, the activities that the Left engaged in for the past 8-years of GWB, and the general way they have dissed the GOP since 1980.

The one quirk that I find quite distasteful that I will have to attempt to overlook, is the President’s “Heroic Man” head-tilt – it is just soooo upsetting in its’ (perceived by me) arrogance.

  13. It is not perceived arrogance, AD. It is arrogant. He believes his own hype.

Who said he had no military experience?
He is “An Army of One”!

    AD (ef385e)

  15. Need I remind you that it is racist to note that he has not experience?!

  17. Someone here pointed outside and said “circle jerk.”
    Tee-hee-hee.

  18. No, they just pointed at you Larry, and said “Jerk!”

  20. So, when does the long National hangover begin?

  21. Once the disappointment on the Left begins to set in.
    It will not be pretty.

Everyone should send in their broken TV or wasted computer, a grocery bill or mortgage payment. Everything, send it right to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Mail in your girlfriend’s shoes and demand some $1,000 Jimmy Choos. Like Michelle wore, straight from her budget closet. h y p o c r i t e s

  23. Why as it assumed that I would be the first to chuck a shoe at Baracky?

  24. Tradition.

  25. O/T…New website for those interested in rebuilding the brand (GOP) with a H/T to Powerline.

  26. Thanks, Karl. Good to see you!

  27. JD, because you play the race card so well … even Obama can’t cry racist as often as you! He sends out his minions and aides to do the dirty work. Hell, Gwen Ifill should just be Secretary of Love and Hand jobs. Speaking of his team, he sure as hell stiffed Howard Dean. Stole the fundraising playbook, used the guy and threw him out in the cold. Ah, the dems.

  28. VN – Now where in the world would hodean fit into the Baracky Hussein Obama administration? Surgeon General ?

Perhaps they need a new announcer for the DC soccer team?

  31. Dean’s got the skillz! Howard could warm up the crowd before every Obama speech.

And will the Messiah even dare to speak to the press corps? – – we see that being far from a teleprompter makes him choke.

HoDean could serve as the official opening act. Maybe Secretary of Cheerleaders. O stiffed him… par for the course.

  32. I am praying that Obama Christ will forgive you for your sins.

  33. Obama doesn’t go to church anymore – – he works out on Sunday. He likes to keep his temple in shape, for his followers.
