Michelle Malkin’s Roundup of Journalism by Conservative Bloggers

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 10:35 pm

Michelle Malkin has an incredible roundup of original journalism done by conservative bloggers, here. She says her purpose is to debunk the “ill-informed and self-serving myth” that “conservative bloggers don’t do reporting.”

I am honored by Michelle’s inclusion of this site among her examples of conservative sites doing original reporting. The list she has compiled is truly impressive, and it was a pleasant surprise for this site to be mentioned. The post is worth a read and a bookmark; there’s a great deal of worthy material there.

Thanks very much to Michelle for the kind words.

  1. I need to find something to dig into like you have in the Pel case, and the Tupac thing.

That way I can get such a nod, which would be truly ironic…

  2. Congratulations. Your contributions deserve every bit of that praise and more.

  3. We live in a society where, when something isn’t to someone’s liking, they sing out about it. But when things go well, folks usually stay pretty quiet.

I’m glad Michelle Malkin is recognizing your hard work. You deserve it.

  4. Congratulations Patterico – I echo DRJ, Scott and Eric – well deserved. It’s nice to know that your efforts at the truth are recognized, as well as disseminated.

Do you get free beer or a tiara or something?

  5. Kudos to you for any and all hard earned and well deserved recognition on original reporting. Frankly, IMHO, you LAT pieces are devastatingly brilliant. It’s quality work that can stand alone.

As to praise from the likes of Malkin, suggest you get her knickers in a twist by quoting a little Marxism back at her: “I don t care to belong to any club that will have me as a member.”— Groucho

    😉

    Congrats.

  6. You weren’t just mentioned. You were mentioned FIRST.
    Congratulations!

  7. Bandwagon? Oh, that bandwagon!

    Of course I’ll jump aboard!

    Kudos, Patterico!

Anything to offer other than an intentionally inflammatory statement?

  10. Mr. Frey’s work is highly commendable. Would that more people were aware of PP. That could have its downside though as I know that Malkin is the object of much venom and threats. So she must be hitting the mark, aggravating the far left buffoons.
If the LAT had any good sense, they would take Mr. Frey’s constructive criticisms to heart and make some attempt to correct their rather crappy way of running a newspaper. But no doubt they strive to emulate the arrogance of their cousins on the east coast. Opinion disguised as hard news is truly disgusting.

  11. C’mon, none of what Malkin cites is really journalism. I mean, none of it’s about attacking Republicans and promoting Democrats, so how could it possibly qualify as journalism?!

  12. I’ll look forward to apologies for being dead wrong from Micheal Left-wing blogger Greg Sargent Goldfarb is the ideal and Matthew What the right lacks are people with the skill to do the job Yglesias, to every blogger on Malkin’s astute roundup.

I hope it will also include a New Year’s resolution from them as well to do their homework before making smug and inaccurate judgments.

    Congrats, Patterico.

    Don’t hold your breath.

  14. Hey Clueless Rob leftwad. FWIW, Michelle Malkin has been on various GOP cases constantly. She was all over McCain’s butt on amnesty, for example and had been highly critical of the various GOP candidates for President. Just because she has not joined the moonbat crowd is desiring to fellate Obamafuehrer doesn’t mean she isn’t a very competent investigative journalist.
The left cannot really do much to answer MM’s charges other than to call her a racist and various slanderous names.

    aoibhneas (0c6cfc)

  15. Um, aoibhneas, you clearly misunderstood my comment.

    It was ironic.

    Sorry for confusing you.

    Rob Crawford (04f50f)

  16. I’m not surprised at Mallkin’s mention or your first of place . Your successful tilting at the windmill known as The Los Angeles Times was beyond “Quixotic” when one considers that the windbags on the LAT editorial board could have had your head on a pike. It was simply courageous. Congratulations Patterico!

    C. Norris (a1c18b)

  17. 15 duly noted. sorry for the misunderstanding.

Given the rocks that people like Frey, Malkin and Chas. Johnson, among others, turn over, I’d be paranoid about some sociopathic crapweasel like Pellicano seeking to do harm to them or their families. If the LAT doesn’t give two defecations about all the harm inflicted on their own employee as cited by patterico, why would they not encourage the silencing of critics who are undermining their own ill-conceived world-view?

    aoibhneas (0c6cfc)

  18. Kudos. Well deserved. I wonder if the LA Times will acknowledge this nod from Mallkin?

    JerryT (d21e2f)

  19. Obvs, I also think the kudos are well deserved, not only for Patterico, but also the others mentioned. Sometimes the original reporting may not get the number of comments that an opinion post gets, but the effort does noes not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

  20. ah, crawfish…how honorable of you to set one of your wingnut brothers straight on that “irony” thing (meaning sarcasm). ah, but conservatives are inherently ironic: “irony: “incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs.”

being false and incongruous is sui generis with conservatism….such as their support for all things militaristic and for tax cuts all the time.
