Latest Blagojevich-Emanuel Rumor

Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed passes on a rumor that Rahm Emanuel shows up in 21 separate taped conversations with Governor Rod Blagojevich talking about Obama’s Senate replacement.
If this is true, maybe Rahm is keeping quiet because he doesn’t remember everything he said or heard. It wouldn’t look good if he downplays his participation, only to be contradicted when the tapes or transcripts are released.

Christopher Calandro (ba29da) — 12/16/2008 @ 9:56 pmJust a guess, but it’s possible Rahm’s lawyers are desperately trying to gain access to the tapes/transcripts so he can get his story straight. Remember, Fitzgerald tripped up Libby on a perjury charge and got him convicted.
It must be agony not knowing which of his phone calls were tapped.
It’s probably the cause of the multi-week delay in making his contacts public.

Or perhaps, he has been asked by federal prosecutors to not release information to the general public as this investigation is still ongoing.

Robert – Obama already told Rahmbo what to remember when he preordained the results of his internal review of staff contacts with Blago’s office. The problem is that it might conflict with the facts or the tapes.

Obama is pleased to agree so as not to compromse the investigation.
I predict that “ALL” the results of Obama investigation that are fit for publication of “his” contacts with Blago will be released promptly about 1130PM on Christmas eve to “maximize” the exposure.
What a joke for our pres elect.
The first priority is to control the media– just like Goebels.
IMO– the people of Illinois should elect their Senator. If the are want to cede their rights to the governor they deserve what they get. No way should anyone outside the state have ANY say or input into who gets selected- including President elect or his minions. The people of Illinois elected this clown Blago TWICE..and elected the Legislature that lets the Gov pick the replacement for open Senate seats.

The Vegas over-under is 18 months on Obama being impeached. I’m betting on the under! I give it 13 months before Obama leaves the White House lawn in a helicopter waving and saying “I am not a crook”!
