Check out the Hot Air/AOL News Presidential election map. It lists the popular and electoral votes for each State and shows how each has been called by the AP.

ML notes Fox News has a good map, too.

Politico’s map has a sidebar showing how the battleground states are voting. It also shows the net gains/losses in Congress in a field at the top.

RealClearPolitics doesn’t have a map on its front page (map here) but I think the format on the RCP front page is the easiest to follow of the websites I’ve seen.

Finally, here are links to the election centers at CNN, ABC, MSNBC, and PBS.

I’m posting this for the links but please feel free to put your election-related comments on WLS Shipwrecked’s thread immediately below.

  4. I gotta give it to Fox News — they’ve got the best maps. And the hottest female anchor in Megyn Kelly. I would love to have her yell at me for ignoring Obama’s relationship with Bill Ayers, for even just a couple of minutes.

  5. Amherst, MA, November 5, 2008 — ODT’s 2008 Presidential Election Map allows you to see exactly how and why Barack Obama’s victory was so stunning. This map shows how dramatically the political landscape has been changed especially when mapped out on a USA population map. ODT’s new election map shows how many people live in each state. Each of the map’s grid squares represents 250,000 people. On the map is the exact population of the larger states (for ease of comparison, and to eliminate the need to count individual blocks) along with each state’s electoral votes. The bigger the state on the map, the greater the electoral clout. See: http://odtmaps.com/detail.asp_Q_product_id_E_pres-map-2008

ODT’s 2008 Presidential Election Map was created by cartographer Paul Breding, former cartographer for the Chicago Tribune and an associate of http://www.ODTmaps.com, a publishing company specializing in innovative map images. Breding previously completed a similar World Population Map which is available at http://www.ODTmaps.com. ODT also published an Equal Area Map of the USA in 2007, where one can compare the exact size of each state to others. Black & white outline maps of the Equal Area USA map are available as free downloads, as are many other map resources. ODTmaps.com also published the Peters World Map which appeared on NBC’s hit show, The West Wing, in 2002, and the Hobo-Dyer World Map which was used by President Jimmy Carter when he received the Nobel Peace Prize.
