Politico Forecasts a Psychic VP Night

I’m looking forward to tonight’s VP debate so I browsed the internet searching for a variety of opinions on what might happen. I expected to find a range of serious and lighthearted opinions but I did not expect to find psychic predictions at a serious political website like the Politico:
“Well-known psychic Elizabeth Joyce has doubts there will be an election this November. Her instincts tell her that come next week, there might be “rioting in the streets and martial law,” and that President Bush will henceforth carry out his term indefinitely.
But that’s next week. Tonight, there’s a vice presidential debate. And Joyce’s predicted outcome runs closer to conventional wisdom on the much-anticipated matchup between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden. She believes that the debate will ultimately go a long way in determining the next president, and that Biden will take the day so long as he doesn’t push her too much.
Joyce, whose website claims she was “born with the authentic gift of psychic ability,” was one of a handful of prominent psychics Politico surveyed to get a better “sense” of how the Palin-Biden matchup might shake out. According to their occult minds, Biden has the edge and, ominously, the moon and stars are not aligned in Palin’s favor.”

The article also recounts opinions from psychic Moira O’Dowd, numerologist Paige Kelley and “not-just-a-tarot-card-reader” Therese Baxter — all of whom admit the Presidential race is too unpredictable for them to call. The Politico sums it up this way: “Your guess is as good as theirs.”
I have no problem with tongue-in-cheek articles written all in good fun. Is that what this is? Your guess is as good as mine.

It will be interesting to see what happens, as the Man in the Grey Flannel Suit used to say. I used the sayings from that novel as stress reduction when I was facing big exams in college and medical school. For those too young to remember (most of you), the novel was about a World War II paratrooper who returns to corporate life after the war.
When he was preparing to jump out of a plane he had a ritual he went through to reduce is fear and allow him to handle the stress. First he would say, “It doesn’t really matter.” Then, as the moment approached, he would say, “It will be interesting to see what happens.” Finally, as he jumped out the door, he said “Well, here goes nothing !”
He used the same ritual facing job interviews or other stressful encounters in the corporate world.
I would recommend that sort of ritual for Sarah Palin tonight.

Claiming to have a handicapped child, again, in response to criticism of his previous comments about Governor Palin’s child is sick. Completely sick. Because a parent with a special needs child would have never made the comment jharp did about Trig Palin.
Correction: no decent and loving father would.
Everyone know the guy is a troll. He is clearly a liar. Any decent parent would not write the things this so-called man did. Period.
Again, he is just some twenty-something Kinko’s employee.
My guess is, if he continues this, he will get his dream and be banned.

One thing that helps to establish yourself as a real person is a link, like mine. You can see my children and you know who I am. So many trolls on the internet have imaginary lives and get very nasty when cornered about their fantasies. I notice this especially at left wing blogs where commenters often have fake links.
