More Evidence of Sullivan Dementia

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 11:42 pm

Interesting relevation in this post:

I should reiterate two critical things: I have never claimed that Trig Palin is not Sarah Palin’s biological son. In fact, I have gone to enormous lengths never to say that, going silent for two days to figure it out and decided to leave it alone.

Wow. So recently, when he didn’t post anything for two days, he was spending that entire time obsessing about the parentage of Trig Palin?

  1. Sometimes, the voice of madness speaks truth?

I am certain that Our Mr. Andrew was indeed grinding his teeth about Governor Palin. My guess is that he had some kind of diorama of the various members of the Palin family and friends in his living room, connected by long strands of yarn. I can see him poking at each of the strands, muttering angrily, for those two days.

  3. “Do not approach the glass. Do not touch the glass. Accept nothing that Sullivan gives you, and give nothing to Sullivan.”

    Palin approaches cell.

“Ahhh, Governor Palin.” Sullivan looks from the glass, unblinking.

“I know that sometimes you wear L’Air Du Temps,”

    He smells the air.

  4. I think it’s more telling that it took “enormous lengths” to avoid saying that Trig was not Palin’s biological child.

  5. Don’t say “enormous lengths” and “Andrew Sullivan” in the same thread.

  6. Icy, I suspect that your phrase represents the triumph of hope over reality. At least for the person in question.

  8. It took me about two seconds to come to the same conclusion. But I have experience with (and no hostility toward) the reproductive system, and female biology.

  9. I found his comment that he is

the world’s most popular one man political blogger

to be my favorite part of his email exchange with Goldfarb.

Even if it were true, which I doubt on several levels, who writes crap like that? He complains about Hewitt’s exuberance yet is much worse than anything Hewitt has done. Talk about hubris.

  10. Sully’s pipe dream = the world’s most popular one man political blogger. Narcissism is filling the air over in Milky Loads office, isn’t it?

  13. Hey, I’m just wondering how many 12-15 year old boys Andrew Sullivan has raped. I mean, I don’t actually know that he rapes 12-15 year old boys, but shouldn’t we be asking the question?

It would be a simple matter for Sullivan to prove that he doesn’t rape 12-15 year old boys, and the fact that he has done nothing to either answer the question or disprove the allegation causes me to have grave doubts about his suitability to act as a responsible journalist.

The fact that he hasn’t been charged with such crimes leads me to believe that there is a cover-up.

I was a 12-15 year old boy, and he didn’t rape me, but the question should quickly be answered by Sullivan: Mr. Sullivan, how many boys have you raped?

  14. Sully’s pipe dreams all involve, umm, pipe.

  15. And so, in his desperate, flailing attempt to make himself appear more “curious” and “thoughtful” and “nuanced”, he succeeds only in making himself look blinkered and obsessed and deranged.

(Normally there’d be a standard-issue NTTAWWT at this point, except, well, there IS, big time.)

The piece de resistance, of course, is his whine about being tried in the public square for “committing journalism”. Frankly, given the lofty standard that’s been set for that vocation since Palin was named as Johnny Mac’s second, that may well be closer to reality than he dreams — and nowhere near as honorable as he imagines.

  16. Andrew Sullivan is an excellent source of news about the weirdness of Palin that no one else will report. The anti-witchcraft annointing, on video, has to be the wildest I’ve seen yet. I feel sorry for rightwing types who cannot bring themselves to notice this weirdness.

  17. Alright, who is doing the parody ?

  18. ” So recently, when he didn’t post anything for two days, he was spending that entire time obsessing about the parentage of Trig Palin?”

More like he spent two days seething that he couldn’t write about it when his bosses gave him a time out. Sad that he does not realize that his cover story is just as pathetic.

But it’s so painful to read him. Cost/benefit analysis: it’s just so tough to go there. Kudos to you for slogging through the mire.

And I feel sorry for leftwing types who cannot bring themselves to realize they are trusting the nation they supposedly love to a cipher.

Wake me up, Jackoff, when you have actual video of Palin participating. Then we can match it up with Rev. Wright videos.

BTW, did ya hear the latest about Wright? Seems like his chick has come home to roost.
