Maybe the best piece of political advocacy this entire campaign season.

If my efforts at embedding this video are equal to my earlier efforts, try this link instead:

  1. Excellent vid, General, excellent

  2. WLS, thank you. Today is Patriot Day, and you are a patriot, and so is the guy in the video.

  3. Why not ask the Iraqis how they feel?
    hm?

    jar@my home computer (6b0755)

  4. You people are the biggest fucking idiots I’ve ever come across in my long life on this planet.

This lovely sentiment comes from the awesomely talented and lovely JAR – JAR.

    Dmac (e639cc)

  5. It is all about feelings, isn’t it? Actions — and taking personal responsibility for them — just isn’t on the liberal radar.

    Icy Truth (b28aae)

  6. I don’t feed trolls but Iraqis seem pretty happy with the way things are going. Trolls don’t, of course, know about these things.

  7. I just hope that McCain & Company run that video until the pixels wear out. Superlative words with the big grabber at the end. What a hero. Thanks, WLS!

  8. “GIBSON: And under the NATO treaty, wouldn’t we then have to go to war if Russia went into Georgia?
PALIN: Perhaps so. I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally, is if another country is attacked, you’re going to be expected to be called upon and help.”

Patrick, how can anyone ever take you seriously again? PLease, hove the guts to explain to your children what a joke this woman has become.

  9. You people are the biggest fucking idiots I’ve ever come across in my long life on this planet.

  10. That can’s going to be tied to your backside from now on, Trollyboy – every time you post.

    Dmac (e639cc)

  11. jar, I guess I don’t get the joke, and I’ll respect Patrick’s opinion even if we disagree before I put confidence in any argument coming from you.

It’s too bad nobody asked that of France and Britain before Hitler invaded the Sudenland, maybe many, many millions of people would not have needed to die.

  12. JAR – I already smacked you in another thread over this. Time to give up while you’re behind.

    Icy Truth (0b82c2)

  13. JAR — that’s EXACTLY what the NATO treaty – Article V — requires.

The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

  14. JAR – So you would turn you back on our NATO allies? SHOCKA !

  15. The point the video misses is this: Obama never criticized our troops. No American will. We can criticize the uses our Government puts our best to. The Iraq war, to many is a sad mistake. Consider the following: If our troops are committed to say Somalia and we lose 2,000 of our best in that effort. If we later determine that the effort was boneheaded to begin with, can’t a patriot opine that the decision to commit them to that theater was a mistake. Must the commission of our troops always be a fait accompli? Think about this for a moment.

    Sojourner (f16af6)

  16. Sojourner – It is an even worse use of our troops to quit before the job is done. Making all of their efforts and scrifice go for naught is the ultimate betrayal.

    JD (6a8c0a)

  17. Calling a war a mistake disrespects the men and women fighting it? I’m sorry, but that is rubbish.

    Max (8933d9)

  18. “The point the video misses is this: Obama never criticized our troops. No American will.”

Sojourner – I think you must have missed some choice quotes over the past several years from the likes of Jack Murtha, Dick Durbin, John Kerry, Charlie Rangel and others for you to make a statement like that.

  19. I left this comment on another thread but it might also be useful here:

You are not debating with JAR. “jar@my home computer” posts from a different IP address than JAR and I think JAR also said on another thread it’s not him/her.

However, “jar@my home computer” is posting from the same IP address as a commenter who posted recently under the name “whatever.”

  20. Sojourner,

To risk your life for something that you’ve believed to be a stupid mistake for the last 5 years is not honorable. For someone to tell you that is what you are doing is no compliment.

Of course it is possible in hindsight to see something was a misjudgement. It is another thing to say people have been living a mistake for the last 5 years, even when they are being successful. Whether he says it directly or not, his implicit message to every enlisted person and academy grad the last two years is, “You’re a stupid chump for being taken in by this lying idiot of a president.”

    MD in Philly (3d3f72)

  21. You’re a stupid chump for being taken in by this lying idiot of a president.”

That includes all of those brilliant Democrats who got suckered into voting for a war by the dummberest Preznidet EVAH !

    JD (6a8c0a)

  22. DRJ – Thank you for letting us know. I can’t tell which is doing worse.

    daleyrocks (d9ec17)

  23. Thanks for the clarification, DRJ – it doesn’t appear that this poster has earned the right to be here anymore, IMHO.

  24. Sometimes Charles at LGF will note where ceratin trolls are posting from, based on IP addresses. It might be a corporation or university or even some 3rd world sh*thole.

How about some updates on what is happening in Texas with Ike? Looks ominous. I know 2004-2005 storms were hell in s. florida.

    madmax333 (0c6cfc)

  25. It is an even worse use of our troops to quit before the job is done.

You mean like how this year was the bloodiest year ever in Afganistan for U.S. troops because we never finished the job there before leaping eagerly into another war in Iraq? Back then “finishing the job” and “catching Osama” and “victory in Afganistan” were all happily sacrificed so we could accomplish the administration’s real goals in Iraq.

That video, with all due respect, made me somewhat nauseous. Talk about using soldiers dying in Iraq for political gain — that’s what McCain’s doing here. If the fact that soldiers die in a conflict means you can never criticize the reasoning that sent them into battle in the first place, then you’ll have a never-ending cycle of killing.

Which is exactly what the neocons, and I suspect McCain, want, as far as I can see. They’re already chomping at the bit for at least two other wars — Iran and Russia. They can’t wait to send more kids into battle to die, and kill, and then tell us we’re disloyal to those kids when we criticize the made-up reasons for sending them to die and kill.

    Phil (3b1633)

  26. because we never finished the job there before leaping eagerly into another war in Iraq?

One did not necessarily cause the other, racist. Our military can walk and chew gum at the same time.

    JD (6a8c0a)

  27. All of you bloodthirsty thenoeocons want to kill, torture, jail, or oppress brown people. I know that, because Phil once told us so.

    RACISTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    JD (6a8c0a)

  28. That’s the second time that Philhemenia’s referenced the evil neocons. Have a little problem with the Jooos, Philhemenia? Quite the budding little Anti – Semite, aren’t we?

“That video, with all due respect, made me somewhat nauseous.”

Anything that actually contains a hint of patriotic sentiment makes your little head hurt, Philhemenia. But don’t worry, just stick that ginormous head of yours into your toilet, and flush vigorously – that’ll get that stain right out.

    Dmac (e639cc)

  29. Which is exactly what the neocons, and I suspect McCain, want, as far as I can see.

“I see Jooos, I see Jooos everywhere.”

I wonder if Philhemenia was an admirer of a certain youth group from days gone by – I think it started somewhere in Bavaria.
