Fisking Hillary’s Speech

I couldn’t get past the first sentence:

I am honored to be here tonight. A proud mother. A proud Democrat. A proud American. And a proud supporter of Barack Obama.

What about that tall gray-haired guy over there with the long fingers?  Not proud?  Okey dokey.

Who wants to start a pool on when Hillary files for divorce?  Pick just the day and month — I think we all know it’ll be 2008.  She doesn’t need him anymore.

  1. It won’t happen. They both need each other for spousal immunity.

  2. Well, if Obama loses, she’ll probably run again in 2012. But, hmmm, if she dumps Bill, she’d really be the candidate of change, wouldn’t she?

  5. Hillary revealed herself, she put Democrat Party unity above love of country. She called on her supporters to give their voices, votes, and loyalty to a man she knew was unqualified to lead our nation. And, she knew exactly what she was doing.

Hillary knows about Obama’s early association with communist poet and pervert Frank Marshall Davis, Obama’s 20 year association with Reverend Wrong and his message of racism and bigotry. Hillary knows all about the Chicago style political corruption, voter fraud, sweetheart deals, and jury-rigged elections.

Hillary knows about Tony Rezko and his ties to Middle Eastern terrorists. She knows about domestic terrorist and communist activist Bill Ayres, and Obama’s long association with anti-Americans and their money grubbing swindles.

Hillary knows all about Barrak Obama, but she got up on stage last night and told her friends, delegates, and fellow citizens to support an outright fraud, a con man who is no more fit to be President of the United States than she is.

That knowledge is her shame, and her legacy. Good riddance to the ungrateful wretch.

  6. They’ll never get divorced; why would they even need to? He lives in New York and she lives in Washington, so even if they decided that they hated each others guts, they don’t have to live together.

And their houses are large enough that on the days they are in the same house, they don’t have to share a bedroom.

  7. They (the Clintons)cannot be made to testify against each other in court while married, that immunity would be gone with a divorce, and since they are, and have been for a long time, “married” only on paper what does divorce get either one beside legal vulnerability? Der Schlickmeister is not the only felon in that marriage…

  8. WLS, this one of the first things I noticed last night in her speech and commented on another thread re it. It was very significant and amazed me because there was Bill in the balcony appearing to be oozing adoration for her… and yet no acknowledgement from her. Ouch! That had to sting.

*Interesting to note: Hillary referred to herself as a loyal mother (shot of Chelsea), loyal Senator, loyal Democrat, loyal American, etc., but never once mentioned loyal wife or referred to Bill in in any personal way but in only momentarily in the impersonal (POTUS).

  9. WLS, you say some time this year?

All I ask is that you admit to being wrong about something if 2009 forget 2008, (I’ll give you lee way). If by the end of 2009 the Clinton’s have not divorced all you have to do is post a blog stating that you were wrong.

    For my part you ask?

If they divorce anytime before 2009, I’ll comment I was wrong a dozen times. 🙂

“What about that tall gray-haired guy over there with the long fingers? Not proud? Okey dokey. ”

You mean the one who you are ashamed of because he did a better job for our country then the president before him and the one after?

  10. When did Bush kill 80 something innocent American citizens? Because that’s exactly what Clinton’s ATF did. Feeling another’s pain apparently stopped at the point that the parents of the 20+ children killed decided to join a cult.

Clinton’s legacy is allowing Al Queda to build on his watch and a NASDAQ bubble that will take 20+ years to rebuild.

  11. #10, pure misrepresentation of the facts. Who started those fires President Clinton?

    Waco brought that on themselves.

    Oiram (983921)

  12. “Who started those fires President Clinton?”

You’re not really going to suggest that Clinton isn’t responsible because he wasn’t the one that sent the incendiaries into the building? So you’re okay with Bush invading Iraq because he was in Washington at the time?

    Oy.

    Bel Aire (2fd7f7)

  13. Bel #12, if you think you know exactly what happen in Waco, your a one sided Clinton hating, Democrat hating person.

We know what happened in Iraq.

    Oiram (983921)

  14. You know, for the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of Senator Hillary R Clinton. She is not all that bad you know. By this action, she has won the hearts of all those Obama fans who would never vote for her. With this, she is guaranteed my full support should Obama lose in Nov. (You wish. 🙂 )

  15. While I dislike Hillary, I think she did her best to win the race. She came in second; in the Olympics, she’d get to stand alongside the winner. In politics, second place is last place, however.

  17. Couldn’t agree with you more Love2008 #14.

I hope the spin meisters here have the nerve to try their brand in the real world outside of Patterico.

  18. #16, and your not JD?

    Keep fooling yourself.

    Oiram (983921)

  19. “if you think you know exactly what happen in Waco”

I do know what happened. Clinton’s ATF lay seige to the compound. Clinton’s ATF lost patience with the approach and got aggresive. Innocents inadvertently died.

In Iraq, the Americans that died, not by intent, were volunteers. They by and large died for a cause they believed in. Can you say the same for those American children at Waco?

I remember Googling ‘Clinton Waco Apology’ because I knew that the press that hounded Bush to admit mistakes must have been done the same to Clinton. I came up with nothing except some stuff about Janet Reno taking “responsibility” for the tragedy. Clinton, unless I missed something, wasn’t blamed at all when it was his aggresiveness with what he perceived as groups ‘on the right’ (IRS hounding conservative groups throughout the 90s as another example) created the overarching policy that resulted in Waco. He owns that tragedy as much as Bush owns anything that’s happened during his term.

    Bel Aire (2fd7f7)

  20. #19, Clinton’s ATF lay seige after presenting warrants and then waiting out David Koresh and the Branch Davidians for several days.

The Branch Davidians were armed to the nines.

The Branch Davidians were trying to run their own country within ours illegally.

The children that were their were not their voluntarily as our soldiers in Iraq were. It is unfortunate that David Koresh put them in Harms way.

By the way when you talk about “apologies” and googling them, your talking about the 90’s when googling had a whole other meaning.

By the way, I never said Bush killed innocent Americans.

Your remembering the 90’s with your own spin on it my friend.

    Oiram (983921)

  21. All the speeches that I have seen at the Dem convention really sucked (I got through about 4 and switched channels coz they all said the same slogans plus some excerpts from Pelosi and Hills speech…which said the same stuff). Dennis Kuchinich has been the only speaker that I’ve seen that has really gotten into the spirit of a good political fight. Maybe the Dems need to listen to their savage little oddball more.

    EdWood (c2268a)

  22. #20 True dat- the gummint agents were weary from all that overtime and thus it was necessary to send in explosive gas charges to incinerate all those children. I suppose there was no way to show patience and wear them down with a prolonged siege not actually requiring large numbers of snipers and such. Of course if memory serves me, Koresh could have been taken long before the need for a siege and well away from everyone else. Janet Reno was one fine AG, eh? Hope she’s enjoying life tooling around in that red pick up truck. What was she, the third choice? Lani Guinier would have been something else to behold..a proud black radical. I expect her ilk would be considered normal in Obama’s circle of radical reprobates?

    madmax333 (0c6cfc)

  23. #22 madmax333, your starting to sound like a frustrated Dem hater.

This could only be good news for Obama 🙂

    Oiram (983921)

  24. In your world, Oiram, isn’t practically everything good for Baracky?

    JD (75f5c3)

  25. #24 JD, no unfortunately everything isn’t perfect when it comes to Obama.
He is however a better choice than McCain, I think.
I have no doubt that both have the best of intentions for us.

You know JD, you really immature yourself when you refer to Obama as Baracky.

I hate it when the like is done to McCain by the left.

    Oiram (983921)

  26. Clinton Lied! Children Died!

    Ropelight (4a83c9)

  27. I like Baracky. It makes me smile. Sorry if it bothers you.

    JD (75f5c3)

  28. #27, I’ll get over it JD.

Sorry, about the immature comment. Your one of the ones I like here.

    Oiram (983921)

  29. Waco…a clarrification…
First off, I think Koresh was a dangerous, cult-leader.

That being said, the ATF did not “lay seige” to the compound.
They came in with with a para-military style assault with all of the force at their disposal, including helo’s.
If they attempted to serve a warrant (a very big if as the details are still being debated) it would seem that they attempted to nail it to the front door with automatic-weapons fire.
They played into the scenario that Koresh had been spinning to his acolytes for years.
    Naturally, they fought back.

After withdrawing to lick their wounds, the FBI was called in to mount the seige.
It was the FBI Hostage Rescue Team (the same group, under the same leadership that brought us the Weaver fiasco in Ruby Ridge ID the previous summer) that precipitated the final assault on the compound under the express orders of AG Reno.

Under any other administration, an AG that brought about the deaths of 20+ children in such a manner would have been sacked, and the leader of that administration would have gone on national TV to apologize to the nation for the actions of others under his responsiblity and authority.

The Davidians’ were running their own country?
I really don’t think so. They shopped in the local town. Had their mail delivered by the USPS.
They, like a lot of other people, just wanted to be left alone by the government, who they perceived as the source of all evil in the world.

I meet a lot of Liberals/Libertarians whose thought processes aren’t too far from that.

Between Ruby Ridge and Waco, the FBI has a long way to go to restore the level of respect they used to have. That, plus their demonstrated ineptitude on counter-terrorism prior to 9/11, is a severe black-mark on Federal Law Enforcement.
Don’t even get me started on Evian Gonzalez (another sterling moment in the saga of AG Reno).

BTW Oiram, you really need to review the grammar rules over their/there, and your/you’re, etc.

    Another Drew (7e1367)

  30. #29 You are right about one thing and that’s my grammar Drew, I’ll give you that.

The rest is an extraordinary tale told by a slanted point of view.

Especially when you bring up Ellian Gonzalez. That was one of many Florida disappointments this country has had to endure.

God help us if Jeb Bush ever gets his chance.

    Oiram (983921)

  31. Koresh was willing to surrender to the Texas Rangers, he didn’t trust the FBI because they had already tried to kill him.

The FBI could not allow a surrender because it would result in the exposure of their many crimes, so they attacked and did their best to kill every man, woman, and child inside the compound.

The ones they couldn’t kill, they locked up. Then the FBI brought in bull dozers and destroyed the physical evidence of their mass murder. Next, they gave each other awards for merit and started making fun of anyone who asked questions. Clinton lied, children died.
