Beldar could never vote for someone who calls Bill Ayers a friend:

I agree wholeheartedly, but our morally – challenged mayor and University of Illinois Chancellors apparently feel differently about Ayers.

To someone like Obama, Ayers seemed pretty “mainstream” until he saw how the Ayers-Obama relationship played in the America of the benighted bitter clingers. Ditto for the rabid spewings of Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Obama and the little lady are both so immersed in the Lefty-academic house of “Hate America” mirrors that they really had no idea that the Ayers-Wright brand of radicalism wwould play so badly with the “regular” people. No doubt, if you could compel them to answer honestly, Obama and his lovely wife would tell you that the common revulsion of mainstream voters with those sorts of ideas was due entirely to a lack of sophistication on the part of the proles — they’re not really educated enough to understand why a reflexively critical take on America is entirely justified.
In holding these views, Obama shows himself to be a callow, unseasoned intellect who has never adulterated the leftist-literati views he absorbed in college with any real-life experience of his own. I mean, what real-life experience does Obama have? It would have been immensely helpful for Obama had he, say, run an actual business for a few years after law school. Let him see how an economy works from the ground up, and how leftist idealism falls apart in the face of the reality of the responsibilities of management.
Since this never happened, we’ve got a candidate from a major party who’s never run a shoeshine stand but who is so brimming with confidence in his own abilities that he’s going to transform major U.S. industries according to his dogmatic leftist preconceptions, all in a matter of months. In his spare time he’ll cause the oceans to recede. Unrestrained by the need to palliate the voters in the center, I have no doubt that Obama will give free reign to his ridiculous beliefs and the result for America will be a catastrophe.
That a guy with so patent a lack of depth, insight and wisdom could be preferred by half the electorate makes me deeply pessimistic about the future of the country.

When David’s links come up I always check by right-clicking them and checking “Properties” so I know where I’m considering going (if it’s a place I don’t want to give a hit to, that’s good to know).
This link though was really funny and worth the click. McCain’s responsible for other people’s choices to drink too much, so naturally it’s OK that a former-bomber friend of Obama thinks he (Ayers) “should have done more” way back when. Great comment of yours over there too.
