Obama Decries the Real Terrorists: Immigration Authorities

No matter who gets elected, the prospects for enforcing the laws against illegal immigration are dim.

But this is pretty eye-opening.

Here’s Obama addressing “La Raza”:

The system isn’t working when 12 million people live in hiding, and hundreds of thousands cross our borders illegally each year; when companies hire undocumented immigrants instead of legal citizens to avoid paying overtime or to avoid a union; when communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids — when nursing mothers are torn from their babies, when children come home from school to find their parents missing, when people are detained without access to legal counsel.

Sounds to me like he’s not interested in enforcing the law in the slightest.

Whose fault is it if a parent breaks the law and is consequently taken from his children? Why, the fault lies with the terrorists — “terrorists” meaning “those who terrorize” — by which I mean, of course, the immigration authorities.

  1. I would like Obama to produce evidence that nursing mothers are torn from their babies. because ICE has vehemently denied that nursing mothers are separated from their babies and that humanitarian needs supercede all else – which includes nursing mothers.

    Obama’s inflammatory pandering and emotional manipulation just intensifies the polarization…and gets exactly the support he is counting on.

  3. I hadn’t read of that incident and didn’t come up with anything in a Google search…but even if its one, that is indeed a most unfortunate action. Funny though, but as I recall it took a judge in a court of law to determine if the FLDS nursing mothers would be allowed to remain with their babies – and they were all citizens.

    Its galling that Obama so freely absolves these people of their responsibility, refuses to hold them accountable yet is more than willing to blame Republicans….for this….oh yeah, and just about everything else.

  4. Here’s the ICE/nursing mothers story. The story was publicized by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. I seem to recall hearing Obama mentioned along with Deval Patrick before … Oh, yes.

    Dozens arrested in raids at courthouses

    PROVIDENCE — Federal immigration agents and state police raided six Rhode Island courthouses yesterday, arresting dozens of people employed by two contractors hired by the state. The detainees are all believed to be maintenance workers.

    Yes, illegals working in our courts. Brilliant!

    Juan Garcia, organizer for Immigrants in Action at St. Teresa Church in Olneyville, said his cell phone began buzzing at 4:45 p.m. as he was driving toward Newport from Providence to discuss fallout from an immigration raid there several weeks ago that led to 42 arrests at stores, restaurants and apartments.

    He said he learned the arrests had occurred at the Kent County courthouse “and right here in Providence,” he said pointing to the Garrahy Judicial Complex across the street from ICE headquarters.

    Some of the women who were arrested “have little kids, bigger kids,” he said.

    Garcia said, “This is the consequence of the governor’s executive order. All companies receiving money from the state will review the legal status of people.” (The order requires using a federal E-Verify system for all new hires, but not current employees).

    Thank you, Governor Carcieri. Sorry, Juan Garcia. Maybe you should think about doing that Immigrants in Action thing by helping people who want to immigrate to do it legally.

  7. Wow, nice sentiment by Obama there … think of it, “no parent should be separated from his or her parent.”

    So all parents in prison should be immediately released, no parent should ever face jail time …

    why the possiblities of such compassion are enlightening, no?

  10. The baby story was featured in an NYT editorial, and then BOR tried and failed to confirm that there was a “ripping away”. It turns out the babies were already in the hospital. So, BHO lied. See my name’s link for the details; see this for more on the terrorizing speech.

    Not necessarily. If people actually do something – rather than just moaning – we could get those laws enforced immediately. Work to discredit politicians and others on this issue, and once they’re forced to choose between ignoring our laws and their careers things will change. You can discredit them by asking them real questions at public appearances and uploading their response to video sharing sites.

    Look, if this unfortunate event occurred the pro-illegal crowd would have benefitted far more by sharing, ad nauseum, every last detail and milk it (heh) for what its worth. Its would have been the perfect, emotionally charged situation to further sway people their way, if it had happened.

  16. I cant stand Obama. What I don’t undertsand about the Immigration authorities is what they are rounding up illegals at their places of employment & not the hard core illegal alien gang members? Seems like we should target those engaging in urban terrorism & criminal enterprises first.

  17. #16 – optimal use of resources.

    a) illegal alien gang members will shoot. They are best left to the police, who should call in ICE after arresting them for their other illegal activities.

    b) sweeping up illegal aliens at legal places of employment would be a waste of police manpower, this is properly ICE’s direct responsibility.

    c) do not commit the fallacy of the false dilemma, just because illegal aliens workers are being caught, it doesn’t follow that illegal alien gang members are being ignored. Although certain cities have instructed their police to not check into arrestees immigration status, this is usually part of a general policy of trying stymie immigration law enforcement.

  20. Well apparently it’s clear. If you’re a terrorist, Obama’s your man. He’ll soon be giving Iraq to you. If you’re in the US illegally, Obama’s your man, he’ll soon be giving America to you.

    If you’re an American, Obama has something for you too. A hefty tax increase and four years of venomous race relations debate. So much to look forward to.

    He also has something else for you. A kick in the butt to learn a new language, so you can communicate with the 12 million Illegal Aliens he’ll be providing blanket amnesty for.

    Yeah, that’s CHANGE alright.

    At least America is getting a glimps of the wild eyed liberal he really is, instead of the phoney centrist persona his campaign has been painting him to be.
