L.A. Heat Waves to Reach 117 Degrees in 2100?
That’s what the computer model says, and you can’t fight the computer models! (Via Hot Air, appropriately enough.)

We can’t even predict the change in climate ten years from now let alone 92 years from now. How is this news!
h2u (4a7c7f) — 7/3/2008 @ 7:33 amThat’s nothing. Just six months ago, it was 50 degrees here in Vegas. Today it will reach 110 degrees. The trend line predicts 200 degrees by Xmas!
Perfect Sense (b6ec8c) — 7/3/2008 @ 7:40 amBecause of the global cooling. Oops, I mean global warming. Nope, I mean global climate change. Nah. Weather. It is fucking weather.
And, Kyoto.
JD (75f5c3) — 7/3/2008 @ 7:41 amRepent, all ye who sin before Mother Gaia! Behold, for I shall flood ye coasts with hurricanes, bring pestilence (in the form of mouth – breathing idiots) to your towns, and smear your roads with plankton! And I will make haste to bring judgement to you all (in the form of NASA’s Robert Hansen).
Dmac (ea35f7) — 7/3/2008 @ 7:43 amWhen I see a computer model that takes data from 92 years ago and predicts to any degree of accuracy today’s climate then I’ll believe that it can equally predict the future.
Ken Hahn (7742d5) — 7/3/2008 @ 11:49 amSo, plan to set the A/C on ‘high’ in 2100?

I dunno, Pat. As hot-looking as that metal chick from Metropolis is, I prefer flesh-and-blood women.
L.N. Smithee (b048eb) — 7/3/2008 @ 12:20 pmThis really cuts straight to the heart of the matter. If you can’t get a positive control to give a positive result (and a negative control to give a negative result), the experiment is uninterpretable. I’m beginning to wonder whether climate scientists are aware of this.
Crimso (d5989a) — 7/3/2008 @ 1:23 pmMan made global warming is a scam. The only climate we will need to adjust to is one in which we are dogged by carbon taxes. It’s all fake. Enjoy.
