Clinton and Obama Meet; Edwards Out of Running for V.P.
MSNBC reports:
Barack Obama met privately with Hillary Rodham Clinton, a likely vice presidential candidate, as the Democratic nominee-in-waiting sought to unite his fractured party against Republican John McCain in November.
Meanwhile, John Edwards has ruled out running for Vice President. I regard this as very meaningful, because when politicians rule out running for office, they always keep their word.
Of course he ruled out VP. Being appointed AG is a far better utilization of his skills.

Another Drew (8018ee) — 6/6/2008 @ 2:09 pmWhy would he do that, it is his one positive attribute!
The sad fact is that Edwards is the most talented and accomplished, in real life terms, of the three of them.

Yup, and he didn’t even carry his own state in 2004 and probably wouldn’t have been elected to a second term in the Senate based on his popularity with his constituents.
This could have been a dream ticket for the republicans.

His accomplishment primarily consisted of assembling expensive theatrical productions aimed at convincing people too dumb to get out of jury duty that docs were somehow causing serious, serious harm to kids they were delivering, and his main actors were medical whores willing to look jurors in the eye and claim as fact their wild and unsupported and (eventually) thoroughly disproved theories.
Edwards was the best, smoothest, most facile liar, and so he made oodles of money. That he’s now accorded any mantle of honor or merit for his work and wealth just shows us how gullible some people can be.
