“…shamelessly lies…”
Is that to distinguish from his un-shameless lies?
Another Drew (f9dd2c) — 4/11/2008 @ 12:37 pmThat’s weird. We posted on this at the same time so I redirected my link to your post.
DRJ (a431ca) — 4/11/2008 @ 12:42 pmBy the way, it was fun to see the AP fisk Bill Clinton in the original AP article.
DRJ (a431ca) — 4/11/2008 @ 12:48 pmJake Tapper of ABC News breaks down the misstatements and lies line by line in a link in the article. He gives Slick the treatment usually reserved exclusively for Bush, Ann Coulter, or Rush Limbaugh. This is illustrative of how “in the tank” the majority of the MSM is for Obama. Tapper started kicking Hillary around in his campaign reports on Nightline immediately after the Iowa caucuses.
L.N. Smithee (e1f2bf) — 4/11/2008 @ 12:51 pmAnyone consider he’s doing this on purpose to sabatoge his wife and spare himself the emasculating indignity of being the first “first husband”?
Sean P (e57269) — 4/11/2008 @ 12:51 pmThe Clintons would lie for credit if you were paying cash for the truth. I expect no less from Gramski/Alinsky followers.
Gbear (58b08c) — 4/11/2008 @ 12:55 pmOnce more the philosophical circle logic the Clintons love and embrace is presented – did she lie before she did not lie before she did lie before Bill lied before he did not lie before he lied about not lying about lying but not before she lied about not lying about not lying before she lied. . .
Cheap theatrics, all of it.
Thank you for your time.

I don’t think he sees it as an indignity — I think he believes if she is elected, it will be a legacy of HIS enduring popularity. There have been father-and-son Presidents before going back to John and John Quincy Adams, but husband-and-wife? That would be historic for two reasons: She would be the first female President, and the record will show she could not have possibly been elected without him being President first.
That being said: this issue reminds me an episode of WKRP in Cincinnati. Station manager Art Carlson (the late Gordon Jump) ran for the city council against some enconced windbag. After a testy exchange in a televised debate, Carlson blurts out his opponent’s dirty little secret: He’s an alcoholic. Suddenly, Carlson surged in the polls, but he was riddled with guilt, and decided that he didn’t want to win that way. So he sabotaged his campaign through false rumors and unflattering campaign posters. The final scene showed the station staff celebrating as Carlson lost by percentage points.
L.N. Smithee (e1f2bf) — 4/11/2008 @ 1:55 pmAhem.
Maroons were the communities of blacks who escaped slavery and lived in the back country/ wilderness areas of the South and West Indies.
Now I know you didn’t mean to insult them by comparing Billy Jeff Clinton to them.
However, I won’t call you a moron over a spellign misteak.
kishnevi (6d4909) — 4/11/2008 @ 2:00 pmkishnevi, the spelling of “moron” as “maroon” is an old joke unrelated to escaped slaves.
SPQR (26be8b) — 4/11/2008 @ 2:03 pmKish,
I think he’s referring to the Bugs Bunny classic: “What a dope. What a maroon.”
DRJ (8b9d41) — 4/11/2008 @ 2:06 pmYes, it’s a way of disparaging someone who, otherwise, can be a recipient of respect.
Another Drew (f9dd2c) — 4/11/2008 @ 2:17 pmThis is not to be used for Levi!
What a maroon.
If that’s the case, I suppose he is the first black President ever.
SEK (bd295a) — 4/11/2008 @ 5:17 pmYes, it was a Bugs Bunny reference. I thought everyone knew that.
Patterico (4bda0b) — 4/11/2008 @ 6:06 pmYes, it’s a way of disparaging someone who, otherwise, can be a recipient of respect.
This is not to be used for Levi!
I suggest using Levi’s own favorite insult against him.
Paul (4e4a20) — 4/11/2008 @ 6:12 pmifact the next step up from maroon in bugs bunny is the insult “what an ultra maroon”.billy jeff may qualify for that distinction.
gary k (e52e65) — 4/11/2008 @ 6:19 pmMaybe you could use this link next time, Patterico.
nk (6b7d4f) — 4/11/2008 @ 6:20 pmOur 42nd President is coming to the Jim Thorpe Area High School on Sunday, some six short blocks from my humble abode, to campaign for his darling bride.
I shall not attend.
Dana R Pico (d671ab) — 4/11/2008 @ 6:23 pmThank you, nk. I believe I will.
