DailyKos’ Post Objects to Clinton Ad

Who needs Republicans when DailyKos is here to call the Clinton campaign on the carpet for darkening a photo of Barack Obama?

“I’m not accusing Hillary of technically being a racist. But she is cynically exploiting racism to further her personal ambition, and it’s part of a pattern. She’s doing it to a fellow Democrat who’s virtually certain to be the nominee.”

There are photos at the Kos link and the Clinton campaign response is reported here. Wonkette weighs in, too.

  1. Charles Johnson at LGF weighs in:

What I see in these pictures is the typical color alteration that happens from transferring and copying video segments, which also accounts for the aspect ratio changes; different equipment, different software, different video sources. I doubt very much that it’s deliberate. They’re comparing colors from low resolution video, seen on a computer screen. The idiocy makes my head hurt.

I can’t argue with that assesment, that is exactly how this looks to me also.

  2. I think you are right, Paul, and that’s what the Clinton campaign said, too. But it’s still entertaining to watch internecine warfare.

  4. Sorry, but if Hillary wanted to win the primary she’d lighten his skin.

I like that construction; let me try it out for myself:

I’m not accusing DailyKos of technically being America haters. But they cynically exploit anti-Americanism to further their personal ambition, and it’s part of a pattern.

  6. This is great for the GOP.

Whether Hillary did it on accident or not, now we know to avoid doing this by accident (and certain idiots on our side know what they can’t get away with doing on purpose, so they hopefully won’t)

Here’s a toast to Senator Clinton: may she have a long and influential Senatorial career!

No further comment needed [See prior post #9 under Question: Will Hillary Drop Out Tomorrow?].

  8. If you’ll scroll down a little on this link in Patterico’s “Breaking: Huckabee Out” post you’ll see Hillary made just as dark as Obama by ABC.

  11. If DailyKos told me it was dark outside I’d check to see whether George Soros had cornered the flashlight market.

  12. The phrase “moronic Kosbots” leaps to mind. It’s quite obvious that the darkening is an artifact of the equipment used.

Unless you see conspiracies lurking behind every tree, that is.

  13. I was sitting at my desk at work over the lunch hour, catching up on a few blogs and eating the sandwich that my wife had made for me. Now, I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy nut, but when I held the aluminum foil that she had wrapped my sandwich in next to the screen, Obama’s skin got visibly lighter!
