Shuster Didn’t Realize His License for Making Incendiary Remarks Was Limited To GOP Targets

Filed under: General — WLS @ 5:38 pm

We have news this afternoon that David Shuster at MSNBC has now been suspended for his “Pimped Out” comment yesterday in describing Bill Clinton’s use of WH interns in the Oval Office during …..

Wait …. no, apparently I have it wrong …. Shuster was commenting on Bill and Hillary Clinton’s use of their own daughter in the campaign.

I feel for Shuster here — I’m sure he simply got confused.  For well over a year now his bosses at MSNBC have been egging him on to say ever more outrageous and blatantly false things about all things Republican.  Since the MSNBC hosts have clearly lined up behind Obama, I’m sure Shuter figured the same Rules of Engagement applied to the anti-Obama forces in the Democrat party.

  1. Sent an email to Tucker about two months ago that read, in its entirety: “Tucker, please don’t let Shuster guest host for you anymore. The man’s an ass.”

Actually kind of like Carlson, but Shuster is as objectionable as a Mini-Me Olbermann.

  2. And people complain about Fox!

Shuster should be fired and shamed publicly. What a jerk!

  3. But he was right this time!

  5. A rather brazen example of double standards at MSNBC.

  6. Nobody is getting the scary part of this.

The woman who is running for President of the United States got a “journalist” suspended for saying something (that was really innocuous) about her daughter that she didn’t like.

What will she do when there is legitimate criticism of her and her administration?

  7. Now look, I’m almost 50, and I have to teach you young ones current slang? Are you getting old and crotchety like me?

In current slang, “pimping” means getting all dressed up or all fancied up, and has no reference to prostitution. Vide MTV’s show called Pimp My Ride. (Once, some teenagers preparing for a prom used the expression in front of me, and I proceeded to explain to them what a pimp was–they were completely unaware of the term in its basic meaning. This was accompanied by gales of laughter from the accompanying mother when she realized that they didn’t know what the word actually meant.)

So Shuster was saying that Chelsea was getting all prettified to be put on show, but there was no real reference to prostitution.

Now if you want to argue that Miss Clinton is allowing herself to be used for reasons that are ultimately of financial benefit to her, and say that is prostitution herself, you can probably make a good case. But Shuster wasn’t really saying anything like that.

  8. #6, if Hildabeast is elected President the MSM won’t criticize her or her administration. She’s a Dem you know.

The 2009 Alien and Sedition Act will become law, effectively suspending the 1st Amendment as did the original which the Supreme Court never heard a case against. Jefferson had the portion in conflict with the 1st amendment repealed. If the Democrats get to pick the next Supreme Court justices, maybe we can get more who look to foreign laws in their deliberations, such as those in Britain or Canada who do not have constitutional freedom of speech protection.

I suspect there’ll be a run on ammo and guns on the black market as local militias gear up for an insurection…

  11. Nah, WLS has it right. That kind of slimy innuendo is reserved for Republicans at PMSNBC. Although they might be feverishly circulating a list of words which are forbidden in reference to the Clintons such as: Intern, pizza, thong, China, missile, technology, Buddhist, monk, pardon, rich, flowers, is, etc.

  12. You forgot “cigar”…

    Scott Jacobs (a1de9d)

  13. And, apparently, pimp.

    DRJ (517d26)

  14. From what we know now about Hillary’s “managing” of her husband’s adultery while he was still in politics, pimp might be the word that best fits her. I can see how she might bristle at it. In any case, it was wrong to use it in reference to Chelsea. Nobody gets to pick their parents and the kid’s role in the campaign has been very low tone. As I understand it, she’s mainly just there.

    nk (1e0a58)

  15. I agree, NK, taking aim at candidate’s kids isn’t kosher even if the kids are actively campaigning for the parent. And it appears Chelsea has taken on an expanded role.

    DRJ (517d26)

  16. Again, what is wrong with calling a spade a spade? OOps I guess I’m out of a job too.

  17. This report says that Shuster and MSNBC weren’t apologetic until Clinton threatened to pull out of the MSNBC debate scheduled for February 26. If that’s true, Hillary has MSNBC and NBC right where she wants them.

    DRJ (517d26)

  18. Gosh, first they won’t debate on Fox, now it’s MSNBC — pretty soon they’re gonna run out of networks. Maybe Al Gore’s channel can host them.

  19. This Shuster-Clinton campaign email exchange is interesting.

    DRJ (517d26)

  20. Hmm, in light of DRJ’s #17 link above, pimp might be a concept MSNBC should consider too. Prostitute as well.

    nk (1e0a58)

  21. While I believe Shuster is one of the biggest turds on television, this is another great example of the Clintons intimidating the media and setting future gtound rules of debate. What Shuster did was wrong, but he is usually over the top, factually incorrect, and an asshole. What the Clintons are signalling is don’t fuck with us or you’ll be sorry.

    daleyrocks (906622)

  22. Shuster getting Maccaa by the Clintons is rich.If this jerk gets back to MSNBC , after the proper “re-education”, his fury will be directed to Republicans only.

    mike191 (c5415c)

  23. I’m willing to wager there are a great many Democrats who now deeply regret ever having gassed up the Clinton machine all these years; it was all fine and well when the Clinton’s took down anything Republican however now the Dem’s monster is out of the closet killing off fellow Dems.

    Karma is a funny thing.

If Clinton fails there will be quite a few Democrats who she’ll take down with her; Clinton has files on everyone, not just Republicans.

  24. This is typical hypocrisy.
Crude comments about Chelsea being “pimped out”, but not one word about Obama’s strong connections to the Nation of Islam. (He has NOI members on both his Senate and Presidential camoaign staffs). I guess that the media won’t dare say a harsh word about “the new Jesus”.

    JEC (c36902)

  25. Now you know the Lefty MSM-types like Schuster read your blog — he was channeling your SEK post and couldn’t help himself. LINK

    capitano (03e5ec)

  26. If she threatens to pull out of the debate, then the network should say, “Fine, we’re holding it anyway and whoever shows up, shows up. Looks like it’ll be two hours of Obama, SINCE NO ONE ELSE IS RUNNING YOU IDIOT!”

    MagicalPat (32fc69)

  27. Why are we so sensitive all of a sudden? Oh yeah, because it wasn’t about a Republican.

    Alta Bob (4daddd)

  28. “… taking aim at candidate’s kids isn’t kosher even if the kids are actively campaigning …”

Let’s be clear here, Chelsea is IIRC 26-years old. She may be the child of Bill and Hillary, but she no longer qualifies as a “kid”.

The media never held back in covering the Bush twins, so any circumspection as regards Chelsea is blatent hypocrisy. She’s an adult, doing adult activities, and she’s not off-limits.

Thinking back to Truman’s contretemps with that WaPo critic re Margaret, I could never imagine Bill punching anyone in the nose. Hillary, though, that’s another matter.
