  1. Great performance. She is soooo good at doing whatever it takes. Too bad she had that glint in her eyes that says “I know, I know and I know you know, but it works for some idiots”….she is an absolute, grasping, no morals, pandering politician!! See? Females can be just the same as males.

  2. a funny thing happened on the road to her inevitable nomination.

  3. She is a girl, after all. It’s not a bad thing. It’s worse to try too hard to deny it.

  5. Either faking (my vote) or the tears are real, but due to self-pity and not concern for the nation (“That nomination is mine–how could this be happening to me after all the lying, manipulating, calculating and puttin’ up with Bill that I’ve done?”).

If the former, it’s unforgivably, pettily manipulative and calculating and she has no business being president. If the latter, she’s too fragile and self-centered and has no business being president. In either case, can you imagine this person standing up to a real threat?

And, just cause no one here’s said it yet:
    THERE’S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!

  6. Yeah, seriously… you can just see the thought bubble: “What the hell happened?”

She must be tired, to let herself go like that.

  8. I chuckled at John Edward’s almost immediate media response to Hillary’s verklempshing (real or contrived) in suggesting her lack of strength. (Yes, I have significantly paraphrased his comment here.)

I can’t help but wonder, with an admittedly jaundiced eye, if Edwards ever dropped a compelling tear or two himself during his time as a “renown” plaintiff’s attorney, especially in some of the cases his is most famous for?

Geez. It amazes me how a large (and hopefully dwindling) number of folks out there consider Hillary and/or Edwards viable leaders of our country’s future. With a bipartisan notation, add Ron Paul to my confusion. Good grief.

This is going to be a really long year.

  9. Women cry. Big deal. If you want a man for President, vote for a man.

  10. i never heard of margaret thatcher crying. hillary’s no thatcher.

  11. Over at The Corner, they have exactly two instances of Thatcher crying. The first was when her son was missing in Africa and the second was as she left the job for the last time.

    On the campaign trail? Piffle.

  12. Well, Thatcher is English. In England, out of necessity, the women need to be men.

  13. Daniel Day Lewis’ performance in There Will Be Blood is clearly inspired by Margaret Thatcher.

  14. Who wouldn’t cry if their son had gone missing or retiring from an all consuming position of leadership. That seems perfectly reasonable. Mrs. Thatcher was made of the sterner stuff or at least consistently maintained her poise.

I bought Hillary’s tears during the debate when it was said that she was not perceived as likable. It was an unexpected, negative personal remark publicly made. Anyone would probably at least cringe. That it stung her enough to bring a tear was understandable.

However, the tears at the coffee shop felt forced because the situation was a far less on-the-spot moment and an opportunistic grab of let-me-show-you-how-sensitive-I-am moment…

Obviously she is a quick study and after the debate tears, she knows to show vulnerability at all possible moments.

  15. This isn’t an election, it’s a melange of hormones and mass hysteria. The campaign has been going on for MONTHS (or is it years?) and now that the first ballots are being cast in the first minor contests, everybody is so “excited” they’re falling to pieces.

I have never, ever, seen so much nonsensical significance poured into the miserable Iowa Caucus, which has a historical record of picking nothing but losers. And yet you would think it was the voice of God himself. New Hampshire is a somewhat better indicator, but still a mere preliminary.

I sense that the MSM (aka The Puny Left-Wing Conspiracy) is out to get Hillary at last. I confess I thought she was unbeatable, but once your own dogs turn on you you’re finished.

Losers: Hillary Clinton, Public Decorum, Common Freaking Sense, John Locke.

Winners: Thomas Hobbes, and a horde of over-excited 13 year-old girls.
