Another Measure of the Gang of 14’s “Success”

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 7:31 am

Ed Whelan has the sad details of the record-setting slow pace of confirmations of President Bush’s judicial appointees.

Hooray for the Gang of 14!

  1. Another reason I won’t ever vote for McCain.

  2. And, don’t forget any future plans by Sen Graham (SC).
I think we might see some unusual financial support forthcoming in GOP Senatorial Primaries for challengers.
A lot of people who just wouldn’t care about (insert name of state here) politics, will be sending money to primary opponents of some of these weasels.

  3. Excuse me, but without knowing how many nominations each president made in the relevant time frame, one can’t make any sense of those numbers at all.

  4. Super-convenient “final two years” metric. This has nothing to do with the Gang of 14, and everything to do with the way Republicans set the precedent by refusing to confirm Clinton nominees. The 2006 Congress is off of the Clinton pace by exactly two confirmations – and unlike Clinton, Bush had four years of total liberty to nominate any whack job he felt like.

    Nice hit piece.
