That is an interesting decision, Justin. Thanks for linking it. The legalities of pro sports are so convoluted. After all, where else could you see the league and the players’ union (who jointly prohibit players from taking control of their own careers through legal means) claim in a lawsuit that the players own their own identities.

This isn’t as good as the district court’s decision – which was a full-on smackdown of MLB – but’s it’s good enough.
I think the Supremes might take this one; it’s interesting. But I also think we may end up with a 9-0 ruling here; MLB’s in the wrong on this one.
