Sports Talk: Mike Flynt Update

Today (or as LSU and Cal fans call it, Sad Saturday, and you folks have my sympathy), 59-year-old Mike Flynt played college football for Sul Ross University for the first time since his senior year almost 40 years ago.
Flynt played on special teams (extra-points and field goals) with his entire family watching from the stands:
“When Flynt ran in for his first play, his son, Micah, was the first to holler, “There he goes!” All six members of his immediate family, even 1 1/2-year-old Collin, screamed before, during and after the play. As Flynt ran back to the sideline, a fist pump showed his thrill.
“Awesome, awesome, awesome,” said his oldest daughter, Delanie Flynt- Swanson. Then she turned to Collin and said, “You’re grandpa just played football!” “How many other grandpas can say that?” added son Micah Flynt. “None. Zero,” she said.”
Flynt missed playing in past weeks after sitting out with a muscle strain, then sitting the bench, and finally last week’s bye-week. He plans to keep playing if his body lets him.

The guy’s kept himself way younger with all the workouts he’s done steadily. But speed is one thing you can’t keep. As a linebacker that’s a necessity. But that’s about the only position he’d be capable of outside special teams. Maybe a blocking back on offense. Bet he’s having quite a time getting one more shot out there, though. I’d do it if I could.

Marco, please tell me how this man is a fake. He’s out there. He’s playing. He’s 59. What part of that is fake? What kind of medication are you on?

He is honest about his mistakes and a wonderful person! I guess there is always someone who is so jealous they will do or say anything to hurt others. I feel sorry for you.
