The AP reports that some police departments are running out of training ammunition because of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Amazing, isn’t it? Sixty-plus years after WWII, when the US geared up to produce an array of aircraft carriers, destroyers, planes, tanks, jeeps, and bombs, and now the largest economy in the world can’t manufacture enough bullets.
Could there be any other explanation?

I’m going to go all Andrew Sullivan on you and take a long August vacation. Guest posters are encouraged to step up their output. During the next couple of weeks, I may post and I may not. Regular posting will resume after Labor Day.

Note to Matthew Levitt and Yale University Press:
Congratulations on forcing the other side to back off on their frivolous libel suit against you. [h/t Instapundit]
This is all part of a dangerous pattern by Islamic extremists in this country.
One important thing you should note, however. You are still entitled to attorney’s fees from the people that brought this lawsuit against you. Under California law, the fact they have now dismissed the suit from fear of losing does not make your motion moot.
Don’t blow this off. By winning your attorney’s fees, you would not only be getting much deserved compensation from your troubles, but you would also be sapping the funds from what is certainly a group of terrorist sympathizers (who are also quite possibly direct financial supporters of terrorist activity).
