Dirty Harry Land Deal Exposed by L.A. Times — Now That Election Is Safely Over

The L.A. Times has an article about another one of Dirty Harry Reid’s land deals. The article is by Chuck Neubauer and Tom Hamburger. They have done good work exposing Reid’s shady deals in the past — but they had no story about his extensive shenanigans that emerged during the 2006 election season.

Timing is everything . . .

  1. I’m bored at work so sue me 🙂

This isn’t a suprise to anyone with half a brain. Look at how good the economy started doing the day after the election (heh)

  2. Lots of red meat posts today. Kudos.

Of course, if the LAT rantings were presented online rather than in print, that would solve everything!

  3. Speaking as a Nevada resident, and someone who loathes Harry Reid, I doubt these revelations would have had much of a difference in the 2006 elections. Now, had they been revealed in fall, 2004, when Reid last stood for re-election…..

Here’s some great reading around the ole blogosphere today. Grab a cup of coffee and get to it! Feel free to trackback! Blogs of War » Video: John Kerry Calls the U.S. an “International Pariah” Hot Air » Red Sox…

  5. In reading the LA Times article, I thought the reporters certainly took plenty of time before running with the story.

Waiting for written responses, get comments from quite a number of staffers, former staffers, county assessors, former business partners, etc., commenting about how the deal was legit.

This reporting on Dirty Harry is such a contrast to the usual drive-by media reporting. If Dirty Harry had an R after his name, there would have been a feeding frenzy about the allegations, with little or no comment from anyone who could refute the allegations.

There would have been plenty of comments from those who would say it all appears so unseemly.

Since Dirty Harry is a defeatocrat, the LA Times takes their time, very carefully gathering material from a variety of sources, nailing down every detail.

Would these same reporters be as accommodating for a Republican? I doubt it.

    …now move along.

  6. Looks like Harry enrolled in Hillary’s “Cattle Futures & Land Deals Correspondence Course.”

Enrollment is still open for William Jefferson’s “Frozen Asset Management” course…

Thank God Dems have ended the “Culture of Corruption.”

  7. It still seems strange that the Times went to all this trouble to investigate a senator from another state. If Reid gets pushed out, where does Diane Feinstein fall in the race to become Senate Majority Leader?

  8. No, no, no, no. The LA Times does not time the release of its stories to coincide with elections. Remember, they assured us of that back during the California Governor recall and election in 2003. This just proves what they were telling us all along: the story publishes when it is ready to publish, not based upon some election-influencing deadline.

[Wow, I would make a great reader’s representative for the LAT, huh?]

  9. They should have released the story with a republican as the land-grabbing, public-office-abusing fool. Then, when the Pelosi clean-up your-act gang gets ticked, correct the story to be about Harry.
