Happy B-day Gung-Ho…
G (722480) — 11/10/2006 @ 11:50 amIndeed.
I’ve spent a lot of time studying European History, and so I tend to think of it, still, as “Armistice Day”, the day the terrible cataclysm of the first world war finally ended.
It is a day for celebration, but also a day for mourning.
aphrael (e0cdc9) — 11/10/2006 @ 12:04 pmJudging by this morning’s traffic, no one is actually observing it.
[It’s a little lower than most weekdays. UPDATE: Oh, you meant *real* traffic! — P]
Kevin Murphy (805c5b) — 11/10/2006 @ 1:50 pmMy morning commute was easy. No traffic to speak of. Oh, wait, I forgot, I don’t live in Southern California anymore, so I never have to put up with that kind of traffic. Neener.
Seriously, though, traffic today was lighter than normal.
[My morning commute was from the bed to the living room. Neener. — P]
Xrlq (db976c) — 11/10/2006 @ 2:23 pmI thought it was a federal holiday but it looked like mine was the only law firm in this area that wasn’t working today. Sweet. I’d forgotten how nice it is to sleep in til 9.
Linus (cc24db) — 11/10/2006 @ 3:04 pmHappy 231, Corps, and Veteran’s Day should be tomorrow. We’ve got to give up this floating holiday thing, it’s silly. 11:11 11/11 is not today.
