iowahawk on Calame
iowahawk lampoons Byron Calame’s mea culpa, including its placement under something about perfume critics. It’s funny even before you start reading it. Just the top graphic of the post is priceless.

Funniest thing I’ve read in months.
steve (958fe5) — 10/25/2006 @ 9:35 amWhat a hoot. Iowahawk’s gem reads like something the NY Times’ editors believe, in their heart of hearts, and might actually publish if they thought they could get away with it.
DRj (1be297) — 10/25/2006 @ 11:34 amYou know, I just don’t get it. Why do people pile on at any sign that the other side is starting to see their point of view? It’s like you want to make sure no one else on the left will ever have the courage to acknowledge that maybe someone on the right had a point.
Doc Rampage (4a07eb) — 10/25/2006 @ 12:22 pmC’mon, let’s give Byron Calame some slack. He was honest enough to correct himself — and how often do you see that happen in the LA Times? And the fact that Calame criticized the NY Times story upends the canard that only right-wingers who defend the government’s once-secret financial surveillance effort as a formidable deterrent to terrorism.
