From the “Sounds Like It’s from ‘The Onion’ But It’s Not” Department: Jason Leopold Is Baaa-aaack!

Truthout and Jason Leopold are back, with this:

An indictment first reported by Truthout said to be connected to Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald’s Plame investigation remains sealed, and Fitzgerald continues to work on the leak case.

The indictment, 06 cr 128, was returned by the grand jury hearing evidence in the CIA leak case between May 10 and May 17 – right around the time that Truthout reported, based on sources close to the investigation, that Karl Rove had been indicted on charges of perjury and lying to investigators.

However, that indictment remains under seal more than three months after it was filed – an unusually lengthy period of time, according to experts in the field of federal law. The indictment could be dismissed down the road, meaning the public may never get the opportunity to learn the identity of the defendant or the substance of the criminal case.

Ah. So there will never be the need for an apology or retraction — because we may never learn who was indicted.

How convenient.

Thanks to Dana, who has more.

  1. Pure b.s. Does this guy live in the real world? What about his minions? Are they all unhinged? Wait a minute–I’ll bet his minions have shrunk to 10’s…

  2. Good to know Laurie Levenson makes an appearance.

    Go Loyola!

    I condemn this post.

  3. See there! We were right all along. It’s just that nobody will ever know it. And that dirty, sneaky Bush administration is to blame. You know, with each broadcast Rod Serling made it clear that he understood the distinction between the Twilight Zone and reality. The left views them as interchangeable. And these are the people who believe they have the right to rule the country.

  4. See other post on “emotional investment” and not wishing to believe something true.

These people simply can not accept the fact that Rove committed no crime (of course as one was not committed) so they must believe things such as this.

  5. Personally, I’m distressed to realize how many dingbats are out there voting.

  6. Actually, Rove has been serving house arrest in the West Wing. The trial was held in secret at the old Skull and Bones meeting place and presided over by Bush.

  7. Many, many thanks to our esteemed host! His link to my site has resulted in more than 130 additional visitors today.

Y’all come back now, hear? 🙂

  8. Rove was arrested, tried, convicted and shot. John Edwards (with the help of a few Dimorat miracle workers) brought him back to life after transplanting Hanoi John Kerry’s brian in him. You can prove this is true. Watch Hanoi John today, he is operating without a brain. I expect Rove to start chasing rich widows and making stupid statements any day now.

  9. Well, that would explain a lot of things! 🙂

  10. AP has the story that Armitage met with Woodward.

  11. I’m sort of appalled that the readership of this blog don’t get news either. I posted so you’d all get once and for all that the news business is the Trust Fund Baby business and nobody with that kind of money has to be any good at all, just liberal.

  12. […] Patterico wrote a small posting on it, in which he linked back to my site for more. The result? He quadrupled our traffic for the first day, and more than doubled it for the second. Even the third day after his link, our traffic was sixty percent above what it had been. […]
