Hey! I know that guy!

Well said, Dave.

It’s looking like the Flight 93 movie will be a must-see for me. And since we’ve had kids I only go to about two or three movies a year now.

  1. I dunno. I’m having trouble putting my finger on exactly why I have this visceral reaction about it, but there’s not a chance in hell I’m going to see this.

I live fairly near NYC, and saw a trailer for “United 93” recently in a full theater; when they showed it, there was a palpable unease in the place. It was the first I’d heard they were making this movie, and the group I was with reacted along the lines of “I can’t believe they’re making this movie this soon”. Maybe it’s the physical proximity in our case; maybe it’s the short time elapsed since 9/11; maybe it’s the slickness and polish of the trailer we saw. But it smelled funny.

  2. Paul Greengrass, the director of Flight 93, seems to have muted his view of America since he did the director’s commentary on The bourne Supremacy. He strongly suggested that America had become paranoid and oppressive in the years since 9/11. Now this change couldn’t possibly have anything to do with wanting to sell a lot of tickets, could it?

  3. Sorry meant to write United 93!
