It’s Official — We Have the Keys

I picked up the keys to our house this morning. I met my agent at a Starbucks, where I ordered a large (not a “venti”) coffee. We have a lot of work ahead of us today.

  1. Congratulations!

Wishing you MUCH JOY in your new home, and in your “new” workplace. (Is it new if you already worked there once before?)

Have fun unpacking, and remember — The Wife gets to decide where everything goes. I’m sure it’s the law — or it oughta be. 😉

  2. Moving to a new home is such fun. NOT!

    Enjoy your new home,

  3. Seems to me you closed escrow on this home quickly. Our purchase is having to go through probate–the prior owner didn’t put his new wife on the title. Ours will be a >90-day escrow period, and terribly expensive to the seller, with attorney fees and making payments on the house for so long.

Warning to all: make sure your affairs are in order. You never know when your time is up!

Post photos regularly. Your view is much better than mine (Santa Clarita).

  4. Congrats Petterico, on your new, scenic and venti-er larger home. Enjoy.

  5. Would love to be doing the same thingg today. I’m offering a $1,000 referral reward to anyone who refers a successful buyer of house in Fort Worth to me or my agent. Know anyone looking for a house in Fort Worth, Patrick?

[I’ll have to ask around. That’s where I grew up, and I have many friends there, but I don’t offhand know anyone who is looking for a house. Where in Fort Worth is it, and what are the details? — Patterico]

  7. Congratulations!

BTW do people who work downtown actually live there full time in those luxury loft developments? I knew a judge and his wife who had one for the week and then took off on the weekend for Dana Point. Is there really a “there” there downtown?

  8. I knew a judge and his wife who had one for the week and then took off on the weekend for Dana Point.

And why wasn’t he paying me rent?
