Assisted Suicide Decision: Opinions

Here is the majority opinion in the assisted suicide case decided yesterday. Justice Scalia’s dissent is here, and Justice Thomas’s dissent is here. Note that Chief Justice Roberts joined Scalia’s dissent, but not Thomas’s.

  2. This is one of those cases that is very difficult. I found myself agreeing with all opinions on this one. I guess that states rights won out over a phony (in this case only) concern about Federal control of drug distribution and administration. I’d have liked this case much better had the government presented their case honestly.
