Mrs. P. Takes a Bow

Filed under: Dog Trainer — Patterico @ 9:48 pm

My wife, who knows something about birds, told me yesterday that the L.A. Times had misidentified a black-crowned night heron as a cormorant in a photograph. I didn’t note it on my blog, mostly because I couldn’t link to the picture, which had appeared only in the print version of the paper. Anyway, this correction issued today:

Conaway Ranch: A photo caption accompanying an article in Tuesday’s California section on the battle between Yolo County and developers over Conaway Ranch identified a black-crowned night heron as a cormorant.

Can she call ’em or what?

One Response to “Mrs. P. Takes a Bow”

  1. By the way, Conaway Ranch is the most absurd eminent domain case ever. The Indian Tribe and Yolo County had a measure on the ballot which would have approved the “sovereign nation” putting up the money for them and the County to eminent domain the private property. The ballot measure lost, but the County is proceeding with eminent domain anyway. After purchase, the “sovereign nation” will manage the land, but they promise not to put casinos there.

This Abramoff thing is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to casino money influence. Why isn’t anyone talking about gambling reform? Money, that’s why.
