In the Polling Place

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:44 pm

I’m at our local polling place: a lifeguard operations building. Am I electioneering if I say, in this post, that you should vote for Arnold’s propositions?

Better not risk it.

  1. As a duly sworn election inspector, I would say that that doesn’t constitute electioneering unless you run around the polling place showing this website to people.

  2. I think you have to actually tell someone at the polling place to vote a certain way. Unles someone is on Patterico.com and realizes the guy with the Blackberry standing behind him is the infamous attorney-blogger, you should be safe 🙂

  3. Nick – not so. Walking into a polling place wearing a shirt that endorses a particular candidate or position on an initiative can get you tossed out; so can handing out political literature within 100 feet.

We’re told to remove campaign signs from signposts, etc, within 100 feet of polling places as well.
